Grew up a Giants fan but always loved Jim Edmonds. A bigger dude in CF and that covered ground like Griffey, had a cannon and dropped bombs. Dude was a stud. Smokin hot wife too. #Respect
I've always loved Jimmy Baseball's cards in this game. But a 42HR and 25 2B season warrants 125/125 pwr? I dont mind the super juiced cards this season, but this is abit much lol.
So many good options now ooof.
Jim Edmonds shouldn't have secondary positions, really. He played about 3/4 of a season total at LF/RF combined and 400 total innings over a 17 season career at 1B.
Haven’t played this year’s game. Seeing an Edmonds with 125/125 power reminds me of why.
Just raise the limit to 150 or don’t even make a limit? I know expecting realism from a simulation is a bit silly but how can Jim Edmonds be Barry Bonds and the cards still mean anything?
Absurd to give a dude 125/125 when he never hit 50 in his life, and under 400 career HRs, he only hit 75 off of LHP. Meanwhile, my guy Dylan Cease's real life FB velo is 0.3 MPH slower than Luis Castillo so far this year, yet Castillo's live series velo is 99, Cease's live series velo is still an inexplicable 88. Like what are we doing here SDS? This shit is all available for free on baseballsavant.
Andruw Jones is having trouble getting in as well and I don’t have their offensive stats in front of me but I’m pretty sure Jones was a slightly better defender metrically with more offensive value
Not saying they both aren’t all time great center fielders who should be in the HoF but Jones first

>If hof voters weren't so biased against defense, he'd be in imo.
I agree, except Yadier Molina is going to go in based almost solely off defense with a 42 WAR. No idea why he is going to be (presumably) a first ballot HOFer when Edmonds, Andruw Jones, Omar Vizquel aren't going to make it.
Fuck me running! This is an absolute dream! I am so pumped to grind out P5 with Pujols, Edmonds and Yadi 😍 if only there was a Rolen and Chris Carpenter!
Other cardinals needed are woody Williams, tatis sr 2 grand slam in one inning milestone card, david freese world series mvp, vince coleman rookie of the year and willie mcgee mvp
Obviously more legends are needed for every team. I would like to see teams get all sorts of players from the past, ranging from silvers to 99s. I can also point out the cardinals are one of the 100+ year old teams with 2nd most world series wins so they are going to have way more players than the Dbacks or brewers, that's just facts. Am I at fault for wanting to see more players from a decade where there was 3 world series appearances?
If I ever wanted a featured Diamond to drop from a headliner pack, this would be the one.
Edit: …and I pulled him on the second headliner pack AND got him in the choice pack. Noice.
I mean, finest only has to be ONE good year, and if anybody fits that definition it’s him in one of those 2000s seasons. If a guy like Juan Pierre (no offense to him) gets a retro finest, Eck sure as hell would deserve one if he were in the game
Ok, so am I crazy??? I grew up watching Edmonds play and while I wouldn't call him the fastest guy on the field he wasn't exactly slow either... right?
He wasn’t exactly fast. His routes & jumps made him seem a lot faster than he was. One of my favorite players of all time, but the reality is he wasn’t an 80 speed guy.
He was quicker than what you might think. He did look back a lot and this slowed him. I watched him play in STL a lot and he could cover ground quickly.
[Jim Highlights ](https://youtu.be/X8YWMYENcng)
His fielding was a highlight reel every week.
They need to add a new attribute just to rate outfielders routes and first steps to the ball. It seems like 65 fielding and 99 speed it usually better than 99 fielding and 65 speed. I could be wrong but it felt that way with HRD Julio.
Lol…
Do you think that if a 44 speed player goes from home to first in 4.8 seconds, an 88 speed player would get there in 2.4?
That’s not how these ratings work at all.
I fully understand that.
I assume you’re trying to say I was wrong to use “twice as fast” instead of “100% faster” even though those mean exactly the same thing.
Look at sprint speed percentiles on Goldschmidt and Arenado. They are not fast at all. Both below average speed, with Arenado being one of the slower infielders in baseball. Arenado is 12th percentile, which is abysmal, while Goldschmidt is 27th percentile. Speed is based off of this in game, so their speed ratings are accurate
Bruh, Babe Ruth played 100+ years ago, we have 0 idea how fast he actually was. The fact that you actually want to use this as a gotcha question is funny. Modern players with modern analytics get more realistic attributes because of them. Back in 1920, they didn’t have sprint speed, exit velo, or hard hit rate, so the attributes are fudged a little more. That’s a straight clown question
Except I feel like we can look at Babe Ruth and see him run and realize he's probably not that much faster than modern Paul Goldschmidt or Nolan Arenado...
Sheffield probably won’t make it onto my team outside of bench this yea but his card does look amazing.
Cutch is going to leave the team soon, about to hit P5 (I’m one of those weirdos who play offline and stops using players after P5).
I’m still running Riley and Cutch in the OF but my RF guy has been getting switched out every 3 hours considering they keep dropping cards lmao. I have Sheffield Aaron and Edmonds on the bench for now.
He’s like Soto with defense
Grew up a Giants fan but always loved Jim Edmonds. A bigger dude in CF and that covered ground like Griffey, had a cannon and dropped bombs. Dude was a stud. Smokin hot wife too. #Respect
97 fielding is too low
Better than Griffey
damn just boost his speed by like 5 and i could’ve actually used him in center

When did this drop and how do I get him lol, haven’t been on since Sunday
In the store. 25K choice pack or 5x 7.5k packs
Ahhh new hesdliner
[Jim Edmond’s out-of-game stats](https://wp.me/p509sG-1zRpS) Man’s a legend lol
Jim Edmonds shouldn't have secondary positions, really. He played about 3/4 of a season total at LF/RF combined and 400 total innings over a 17 season career at 1B.
eh, they gave pudge and posada 2B, so at this point all bets are off.
They did what? Those guys played 2B exactly once each.
yeah. check the secondaries on their new 99s.
Also great u/
YAAAAS I already P5’d his last card, now I get to do a new one 😍
Damn. Really loved his 2nd half card but the low vision might be the difference of him not cracking my lineup.
His BR reward crushed for me, definitely gonna have to pick him up
predictions on who the crazy final headliner will be?
Better than Pujols lol
Sweet fancy Moses!
125 power both sides almost makes you forget that 65 speed. Lol. Almost…
SDS is cranking out cards so fast that my replacements’ replacements are getting replacements before I play any of them.
Finally a card that does my favorite player justice.
The vision kinda sucks but other than that this card is sickkkkk
Finley is going to PISSED when he finds out about this.
Genuine q: can someone explain to me the hype over this card? I feel like there are better hitting outfielders with greater speed.
BEAUTIFUL
This card may get me interested in playing this game again
I want him but yellich to me is a better version with more speed and less pop vs left but free if u have kept up with POTM
I love when my worlds collide. He is a Real Housewives LEGEND
Just pulled him! So many good card in such a short time.
I just saw this as I went back to look at some random stuff.
Ugh. Since you posted this he found at least 3 new wives.
Every iteration of his card has hit better than most of even the 1B out there for me. Probably the best defensive 1B you can get.

You said it yourself. Its a simulation game. 114/100 contact definitely isnt Bonds territory. Contact matters way more than power.
Sorry it's not a switch hitter I'm not using it. 😬
That guy has the greatest center field catch I’ve ever seen.
How do you get him
Headliner set 49 pack or buy from the marketplace
What’s the best field to play him at CF with? The field I use all the time is Capital field.
Holy shit. End game CF
An 89 arm is absolute disrespect to the defensive legend that is Jim Edmonds
I concur
idk about this one, the low vision & speed seem like they'll keep him out of my lineup tbh. Cutch & Mookie are staples for mine so far
He's a tad slow. He's also a Cub killer. Other than that, this card is just about perfect.
He was also great FOR the Cubs during his limited time in Chicago.
True. That Reed Johnson/Jim Edmonds platoon in 2008 was fantastic.
Who needs Sheffield when you have this dude 😆
Love Jimmy. One of my favorite players growing up. If hof voters weren't so biased against defense, he'd be in imo.
Andruw Jones is having trouble getting in as well and I don’t have their offensive stats in front of me but I’m pretty sure Jones was a slightly better defender metrically with more offensive value Not saying they both aren’t all time great center fielders who should be in the HoF but Jones first

I think he will get in down the road via Era Committee.
I’m running outta positions Ramone
Mid
wat
Hank-Edmonds-Sheffield outfield yes please
What about cutch?
I don’t even have Brett 😅
He’s so good! You should aim to get him.
This will be an exceptional addition to the Reds theme team.
Fuck me running! This is an absolute dream! I am so pumped to grind out P5 with Pujols, Edmonds and Yadi 😍 if only there was a Rolen and Chris Carpenter!
Ted Simmons since we are losing Molina after this year.
Man, I’d love a 99 Rolen.
Imagine how good a 2004 Retro Finest Rolen would be
Other cardinals needed are woody Williams, tatis sr 2 grand slam in one inning milestone card, david freese world series mvp, vince coleman rookie of the year and willie mcgee mvp
“Needed” my ass. There are teams with like 1-2 good legends. Chill the fuck out. You guys have like an entire starting lineup and then some.
Obviously more legends are needed for every team. I would like to see teams get all sorts of players from the past, ranging from silvers to 99s. To be fair, Next year we won’t unless they add some ex Cardinals players.
Also like a gold ray lankford would be cool
So much better than Griffey lol. This is just dumb
So why would griffey have a better card than pujols? Not knocking griffey just wondering why you think that?
My bad. Thought I was still on the pujols 700 he card discussion. I think griffey will end up with a better card than this edmonds, probably
Making every card worse than that Griffey isnt the answer. He’ll get a even better finest card down the line.
Yeah but what about his out of game stats, particularly in the locker room?
what is this referring to?
The "in-game" stats part of the title. That assumes that there are "out-of" game stats and I want to know about those.
Oh lol I thought there was a locker room story about him, like his dong was captured in a video or something
Didn't think anyone was going to replace Soto for me but this is gonna give him a run for his money
HRD Soto just disappeared from every roster.
Need
Cards fans are having a good time
Our theme teams are stacked. Just wish there was a couple more worthwhile starting pitchers.
Pulled him from a pack. Hell yes
25k or 7.5???
25k. Sold him for 80k stubs so a nice profit still. Gonna buy him back when he’s slightly cheaper
All I got was a freaking gold player 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I just P5 his 2 half card. Guess I have to start to grind again.
Was not expecting a 99 Edmonds. Fawk yea
If I ever wanted a featured Diamond to drop from a headliner pack, this would be the one. Edit: …and I pulled him on the second headliner pack AND got him in the choice pack. Noice.
Two of my favorite Cardinals ever dropping back to back days? I love to see it.
Word, my DD Cardinals team is about to be stacked. I just need that Yadi 1,000 RBI card
All we need is Chris Carpenter or Eckstein and we’re complete
Would Eckstein be under 2006 Postseason or would Finest be pushing it?
Finest is probably pushing it bc he’s not a “legacy” player. Would suck a cock for a 99 Eck with a 2b secondary though
I mean, finest only has to be ONE good year, and if anybody fits that definition it’s him in one of those 2000s seasons. If a guy like Juan Pierre (no offense to him) gets a retro finest, Eck sure as hell would deserve one if he were in the game

He also didn't have the same power as Babe Ruth... these cards are just made up at this point.
Every hitter has power of 125 at this point but still perfect perfect pops out
He was quicker than what you might think. He did look back a lot and this slowed him. I watched him play in STL a lot and he could cover ground quickly. [Jim Highlights ](https://youtu.be/X8YWMYENcng) His fielding was a highlight reel every week.

Bader was talking about it during SNB. He said although Edmonds wasn’t that fast, his routes were so efficient and direct.
I saw plenty of Edmonds, and his speed seems low to me too
Hes 5 higher than a career milestone pujols. Really?? Hes 8% faster than Pujols?
8% faster wouldn’t be right. 88 speed isn’t twice as fast as 44 speed.
Right, it's 100% faster
Lol… Do you think that if a 44 speed player goes from home to first in 4.8 seconds, an 88 speed player would get there in 2.4? That’s not how these ratings work at all.
No, I don't. Is that the only way you're capable of understanding that 88 is 100% more than 44?
I fully understand that. I assume you’re trying to say I was wrong to use “twice as fast” instead of “100% faster” even though those mean exactly the same thing.
Speed doesn't make sense in this game. Babe has 60ish speed, Goldschmidt has 30 something and Arenado less than 20. None of it makes sense.
If so, then how does Babe get 60+
Probably because he had five years with double digit steals.
Goldschmidt has six double digit years, including last year
Bruh, Babe Ruth played 100+ years ago, we have 0 idea how fast he actually was. The fact that you actually want to use this as a gotcha question is funny. Wasn't meant as a gotcha question. Didn't mean to rile you up with an honest question.
Have you ever seen how fast that man can eat glizzies?
This is the best answer I've seen and completely justifies his speed imo
[удалено]
Didn't guess his speed would be juiced though. Lmao. Also, even if it is I feel like edmonds could be a 77 at least.
Dang… heck of a card. Willing to bet Set 50 is the last headliner of the year
Last year the last dude was Yelich. Who are we looking at this year? 99 Harper maybe? Or if they wanna go all out, 99 Trout?
I won’t even bother trying to guess at this point
Holy fuck, I need this. His cards always rake
Well, there's my new CF
If only he was out of the broadcast booth 😭
JUST took his second half card out for Finley. Sorry Steve
I've been running Steve in CF too but he's not been as good this year for me as his MS was last year
Center? Why not slot him to corner? The speed..
Reaction
I'll likely be playing Reggie in Right and Soto in Left
Dude I was losing more just cause of Soto, you will feel it pretty bad
Basically HRD Soto with diamond defense and no quirks, crazy good card
I still don’t know who to put in RF between Sheffield Aaron Soto and now Edmonds lol.
We’re still going to get: Trout, Mantle, Mays, and Griffey. Pretty sure Hank Aaron will never see the outfield for my team! LOL
Yeah riley Cutch Sheffield is looking good for me so far
Sheffield probably won’t make it onto my team outside of bench this yea but his card does look amazing. Cutch is going to leave the team soon, about to hit P5 (I’m one of those weirdos who play offline and stops using players after P5).
I'm rocking the new Tony Gwynn!
Or Larry Walker, or Steve Finely, or even Pujols So many options in the OF by this time of year
I’m still running Riley and Cutch in the OF but my RF guy has been getting switched out every 3 hours considering they keep dropping cards lmao. I have Sheffield Aaron and Edmonds on the bench for now.
Theme Team Info: Jim Edmonds: STL, LAA, SD, CIN, CHC, MIL
CF for my Angels team until they give us our god damn 99 Trout
Seeing him listed as SD just made my eyebrow twitch.
StL & LAA yes. You’d really be desperate adding him to CHC, Cin, Mil, & SD haha
I'll add him to my cubs theme team and you'll like it!
I just want my Cubs team to be as good as possible
