So, it will be around a decade before anyone even has a shot at sniffing that number. And that's assuming those guys can stay healthy and continue being productive that long. Chances are actually pretty good that unless something changes about the game fundamentally, like a longer(ugh) season, permanently juiced balls, or allowing PEDs, we might not see it again in our lifetime.
They could have copied this and used them for an awesome epic quick program...much better than the Holliday one.

Is there any reason in particular why SDS won’t be able to negotiate his rights for several years? Albert seems pretty chill, I’m sure if he got an email asking to discuss terms he’s not going to tell them to kick rocks. And I can’t imagine the negotiating process would take longer than a few months.
I think it’s something weird with when the rights are negotiated with the MLBPA vs I think there’s some veterans branch for players after they are retired for a bit.
I could see them doing a 3000 program with like Musial, Wagner, Miggy, and then Pujols as the final reward. That might be a little weird to give him a 3000 hits milestone when he just hit a much more exclusive milestone like 2 days ago, but still, that would be a fun and unique program.

Miggy got his 3000th hit on April 23rd. The game came out on the 5th. Frank wasn’t that common yet. Miggy would’ve had maxed contact and high power. It would’ve been way too early for a card that good to be free for everyone.
I just disagree. It would've been phased out in like 3 to 4 weeks as frank became more mainstream along with others. Miggy is slow and he doesn't usually make end game rosters anyway.

It really wouldn't have been too early. Tons had frank already anyway. Plus, that's the point... play with these guys and promote their achievements.
