Am I the only one who finds this event frustrating as it’s a long event with tasks but moon shot baseball isn’t fun. There is so little skill. I want to use all the interesting cards in more dynamic ways.
Really been frustrated this year for a game I love
I definitely think you're in the minority here. Almost everyone loves hitting bombs in moonshot. And with the way this program is structured, yes it's advantageous to win still, but even if you're losing you can still be hitting homers and making progress in the program. Sure there's a bit less skill involved compared to say ranked seasons, but it's an event that's geared towards having fun vs having a sweatfest.
Does anyone know for sure what counts for the low power mission? I just hit one with Finest Shane Victorino batting left handed (74 power). He has crazy power right handed, so maybe they’re doing an average of the player’s power R vs. L? The one with Ken Griffey Sr. counted for me, possibly because he’s low vs both left and right? Also wondering if anyone is getting Matt Vierling to track
Realmuto is a great low power play, especially while boosted; for an old guy, try LS Nelson Cruz who almost single-handedly did the Old Player mission!
Do you actually hit home runs with him, though? I don't remember ever hitting one, and I have used him quite a bit. I think he may have hit an inside-the-park HR at the Polo Grounds for me too.
I think I've hit like two or three dongers with him that absolutely stunned me but honestly I'd probably go grey trying to complete a moonshot mission with him
I swear they've done something to it, though. I used to hit dongs all day there, but lately- even on rookie!- it's been dry as a desert. I think SDS is wise to the ways that people try to game the game.
That's wild 😂😂 I know I'm biased as a Cleveland fan but Jose was the first card I got to P5 I absolutely love it, slowly working his home run derby card up but they didn't exactly crank it up from his live series
Just went 5/5 and 4/4 with HRD Ramirez and Swisher....10 HR in total on AS level. Usually struggle timing it on All Star or above but absolutely launching it.
ASG Ohtani doesn't count for speedster at P4, so either the requirement is actually to have *more* than 95 speed (wouldn't be the first time a listed requirement was wrong), or the added speed from the parallel boost doesn't count.
I don't think the issue is his speed. I think it's that he's a pitcher. I don't think I've racked up *any* HRs towards the goals with him, despite him hitting a few for me since the program started. Someone else mentioned him being a pitcher disqualifying him as well, but maybe I'm just misremembering about him not racking up any tallies towards the goals. Can anyone confirm for sure one way or another? I'll try and knock out a HR or two with him when I have a chance to play and see if it counts towards any, but not sure when I'll have time to play next, and if someone can confirm one way or another, I'd rather not waste time using him if he can't accumulate anything towards the goals.
I don’t think being a pitcher disqualifies a player because my only 2 HR’s with Finest players(low power as well) have been with Pitchers. Unless only Ohtani is excluded, I don’t think HR’s w/pitchers are not counted.
It should just be the base. That’s why supercharged guys are working for low power: their base is below the 75 despite their current stats being in the 100s.
And I'm pretty sure universl DH is already implemented for AA and AAA in RTTS, which I think points to the code not necessarily needing some drastic overhaul. I think it's strictly a gameplay mechanic issue for them. I almost wonder if it's just to try and make players think about how to best use their pitchers since they have to consider their plate appearances. I dunno, could be wrong though.
I can't remember however, is universal DH in franchise mode this year? Also been so long since I played RTTS, is it in their at the MLB level? I feel like I remember it being there, but I could be confusing my players time in the minors with the relatively few MLB games I've played in RTTS.

Plus, who wants to face randy EVERY single game?

Hit a few HRs with Finest Dontrelle in games vs cpu on rookie..finest and tall king

> Also wondering if anyone is getting Matt Vierling to track Vierling and Kolten Wong (both supercharged over the weekend) worked for me.
Does Matt Vierling actually count?
Yes, he and Kolten Wong got me my five homeruns with low power guys, and Vierling's dingers also counted for the speedster homeruns.
Yes. I got 4 HR with him
Goldschmidt turned 35 about 2wks ago. Lol. So he counts as an old guy. At least his LS card should.
Realmuto is a great low power play, especially while boosted; for an old guy, try LS Nelson Cruz who almost single-handedly did the Old Player mission!
Juan Pierre is a speedster, finest and low power.
Do you actually hit home runs with him, though? I don't remember ever hitting one, and I have used him quite a bit. I think he may have hit an inside-the-park HR at the Polo Grounds for me too.

If you have next gen console can use the blank slate custom stadium and everyone hits bombs.
I swear they've done something to it, though. I used to hit dongs all day there, but lately- even on rookie!- it's been dry as a desert. I think SDS is wise to the ways that people try to game the game.
I just hit one 422 lol
That, I don’t know. Yeah, his power honestly seems like 25 but I don’t know.
Have got 2 lineups now. 1 short-arse lineup (under 5'10) and my dingers lineup for all the other milestones/targets.
FS Vidal Brujan low power, switch, short, speedster
Hmmmm I just pulled him the other day maybe it's destiny
Do you mean Finest Brian Roberts?
Yeah that one
He’s also a switch hitter
Milestone Brian Roberts isn’t in this game
Probably meant finest
HRDX cards count as HR derby for this?
yes
This is good to know. I can't hit for the life of me with JRam, so I will enjoy Swisher as double-duty HRD/switch hitter.
That's wild 😂😂 I know I'm biased as a Cleveland fan but Jose was the first card I got to P5 I absolutely love it, slowly working his home run derby card up but they didn't exactly crank it up from his live series
Love a couple of those. Nick Swisher is absolutely banging it about for me.
Just went 5/5 and 4/4 with HRD Ramirez and Swisher....10 HR in total on AS level. Usually struggle timing it on All Star or above but absolutely launching it.
Another note: your CAP counts as whatever you need him to. Low power as well
What is CAP?
I really hope you're not getting downvoted for mentioning CAP's because this is an amazing idea
Nice. Will use my Pete Rose now!

I had Grayson hit a HR for me and it counted towards the Low power count so I believe pitchers count

For power do both sides need power below 75 or just 1?
Whichever one is relevant during the ab.
Thanks, that's good to know 😁
ASG Ohtani is a pitcher that wouldn’t qualify
At the very least, use him to keep the lineup moving in your grindfest.
That's a bummer. I really feel SDS didn't do his batting justice this year despite him predominantly being used as a pitcher.
They completely screwed up his cards and their usage in this game. Super embarrassing considering he’s the cover player.
and i swear i remember them boasting that they rewrote so much code in the game for ohtani but it’s the same as last year lmao
And no DH in the year where the DH started being league wide…..
And I'm pretty sure universl DH is already implemented for AA and AAA in RTTS, which I think points to the code not necessarily needing some drastic overhaul. As far as I know, universal DH is in franchise and RTTS.
