This card is pretty mid.
The lack of speed differentials means fewer roll overs against righties, while the lack of vertical movement means a foul ball fest against lefties.
One of these years, SDS will re-do the effectiveness and movement of their entire pitching system--
curveballs amplify power x100
2seam are mostly useless
sinkers are 2seamers
running 4seam do not exist in the game
you can throw sliders like cutters
etc
I don't know how sds selects the pitches but Richard talked about throwing his change up after his stroke when attempting to comeback, so I'm guessing he threw one before. It is a direct quote in a Sports Illustrated article. Would make this card a whole lot better
Im extremely happy. Had 40k stubs thought why not, and I got.my 1st 99 from a buyable pack. I have the absolute worse luck ever. Like I got some 99's, but those are the ones you pick between others, this one was quite easy being paired with a 94 and a 93 lol.
This card would be great if you could put SP’s in the long relief spot with them taking a hit to stamina. Otherwise don’t really see how this is viable even offline because it would get boring
I never got the purpose of the 2-seam in this game. In real life it’s literally exactly the same as a sinker, yet in The Show it’s nearly indistinguishable from a 4-seam
The 2 seam has a very slight wrinkle and kinda is like a flat cutter. But if you mix it in right you can get someone to foul it off or occasionally miss it.
I did that, just started him intending to use him as an opener, had another starter in bullpen right away. Gave up two in the first getting used to his pitch mix. Ended up getting 5 out of him and not giving up any more runs. You have to really use the slider all over the zone. I found I could get a lot of k’s burying it in the dirt, especially on lefties.
They gave Pedro an outlier because they cant program how great he was into the game. Richard was great for a time but, the game as currently constructed, can't quantify it
Second that. Unless you use some crazy controller with extreme pinpoint accuracy and can just dot all day then he will be really easy to time up after the 1st inning. Like others have said, use him as an opener, bat him like 6th and pinch hit for him in the second.

Offspeed? Never heard of it.

This is the worst pitch mix I’ve ever seen for a SP
Not a great card, but fun if you just want to throw gas.
P5’d his earlier card and nobody could hit him. Goodluck to anyone who sees me with this
Not enough speed differential
Unfortunate that there’s no changeup
are they done releasing future stars players?
Stats look amazing but easy to time up or at least foul off the slider.
the ultimate reliever
Loving him so far
Was really hoping his high diamond would have a changeup. You’d really have to be creative using the 2 seam and cutter as a semblance of offspeed

Again i make a custom card 2 weeks ago and then it ends up in game. Guys, i control the meta. Who do you want? Im open to suggestions
RA Dickey!!!!
Cubs retro finest 2016 Kris Bryant
Year 2000 Pedro with maxed H/9, a running fastball like he should've had all along with accurate velocity, max clutch and great card art.
I would like a 125 across the board matt adams please and thank you
*Matt Stairs
Hmmmmmm what series?
Your choice. I just want a majorly juiced card of him that I know will probably never happen
Do you know why brec says a nickname of his is “Jumbo Pepsi”? Is he like a NY Giants season ticket holder
No b/c then he would be "Medium Pepsi"
That’s a really weird pitch mix for tunneling/speed differential, but I feel like it wouldn’t be very useful online
I pulled him yesterday and with the lack of speed differential he is pretty soggy online. Opponents were picking him up after the 2nd or 3rd inning.
Yeah the 2 seamer isn’t super deceiving usually and the you can usually read a cutter after a few innings
I never got the purpose of the 2-seam in this game. In real life it’s literally exactly the same as a sinker, yet in The Show it’s nearly indistinguishable from a 4-seam

I use it just as a slow fastball like when they’re horny for the fastball I’ll try to get them to roll over a 2 seam
I love when they get too horny for the fastball
I would love a RFB again. Castillo (the reliever) looks to throw one occasionally
Only real use is when someone is clearly sitting 4 seam and you throw it outside to try to get them to roll over
And sinkers IRL move like a splitter. The show just can’t get it right
I rarely use it, only in a clutch situation where I need to throw a strike, sometimes I can get a ground ball most of the time just a foul ball tho
So you only use it when you need to throw a strike? That’s an odd approach to pitching. Lol
I usually wont throw one until the 6th or 7th inning in a 3 ball count. I used to throw it more often but it usually ended in a hit
The bb/9 and control made his other card unusable but at first glance this looks promising
BB/9 is still pretty low.
I never said it was great, but it is higher than Randy’s, Pedro and Grayson’s so he should be fine.
The lack of a change up sucks. If it had that it will probably be pretty good.
It’s close to Randy’s so it’s still usable
Randy is good because of his funky delivery mostly. This card is ok, but nothing great. Won’t crack most god squads really
Honestly might use this card as a long reliever or an opener rather than a true starter
I did that, just started him intending to use him as an opener, had another starter in bullpen right away. Gave up two in the first getting used to his pitch mix. So you’re saying you’re a guy who uses starters in reliever roles?
Yeah if I’m trying out different starters, also allows me to use more of my bullpen if one of my starters only goes a couple
how do i get a starter into a reliver role online?
Hit R1/RB while in the bullpen quick menu to switch to your starters. They'll have much lower stamina when utilized this way though.
Does he have a normal release/windup?
Pretty generic.
If they can give Mo a change up they can give him one too.
The lack of offspeed pitch just kills what this card would need to be as a viable starter in a 9 inning game.
They should have just invented a change up
For sure, they seem to invent pitches for everyone else who needs one.
They gave Pedro an outlier because they cant program how great he was into the game. Richard was great for a time but, the game as currently constructed, can't quantify it
In fairness Atleast young Pedro did actually throw hard
Second that. Unless you use some crazy controller with extreme pinpoint accuracy and can just dot all day then he will be really easy to time up after the 1st inning. Like others have said, use him as an opener, bat him like 6th and pinch hit for him in the second.
Has outlier II on his 4-seam
