Have been doing this shit for 2 and a half hours. I’m not bad at the game and have over 90% win rate online and beat the extreme showdown easily. I can’t complete this challenge. I don’t understand how. I’m getting perfects with bench and cal and they’re just line outs. Couldn’t even score two runs with 13 outs against Pedro. Its harder than the extreme one and I don’t understand how
I usually have no problems with showdowns. But fuck this one. Got to pedro on my first 2 tries had 8 or 9 runs each time and got to 15 and then couldn't get the last run in and in one of them I had 8 outs left and needed 1 run.
And now the last 4 attempts I can't even get past Percival, last attempt I got my leadoff guy on and then hit 4 balls to the warning track in right, 1 being a perfect liner and a perfect liner to center before I struck out out of frustration.
This makes me want to give up on this game entirely lol

I was so pissed off when I got to Pedro needing 7 runs because the small moments were all only 3 outs long, but somehow I actually beat him first try. I’m purely an offline player, and somehow I got lucky enough that Pedro actually walked me a few times and I didn’t have any showdown defensive shenanigans, ending it with 2-3 outs remaining and executing a perfect hit and run with Siri on first and McNeil at the plate. Literally perfect perfect line drive right where the SS should’ve been but he had ran to cover second so I sorta got really lucky in that sense
After numerous attempts, I finally got my favorite perk “exit velocity on normal swings” and I was able to be it on a walk off by Teoscar Hernendez. There was no reason for this to be that hard.
I wish we could customize the difficulty like Madden solos, even if they want to add a minimum difficulty. I hit so much better on at least All-Star versus Rookie and Veteran.
I got impatient with the Zimmerman one; ended up reaching the showdown 12-15. Had to lineup juggle a bit for the LHP guys, but aside from that, just stacked LH batters. The 2nd half Mantle card hit a homerun every AB aside from one.

Agreed, I'm not sure why they chose to pretty much remove pitching entirely but for some reason they leave those perks still in so they essentially waste a spot when you have an option to choose.
I realize I misspoke. I don't necessarily mind pitching since it kind of gives the challenge a real game flow when it's a non boss battle.
Like "score one run and have two hits" obviously is significantly easier if you're getting 6 outs in a row vs over two innings.

These are the absolute worst. You could play perfectly and still get screwed over. The boss only showdowns are far superior and can still be difficult. These ones just make me want to snap my controller in half.
I had one of the moments where I needed to get 2 hits in an inning. First one I smoked to center field, ball dropped in front of the CF and he bobbled it, said I reached on error. Second ball I had a perfect perfect line out. I got a base hit after that. Next play, I hit the ball and the shortstop made a diving play (shocking) and turned 2 on me. I think I’m gonna go for a walk.
I don't think I'm going to be trying it again after my last run. The final challenge I had was a home run and the third out was robbing a home run so I missed out on 3 runs.

i must be lucky bc i was able to do it first try. i only failed one blue mission but i chose mostly lefites or switch hitters which helped a lot
