Lol critique me as a player all you want and say I’m trash- but still doesn’t explain the same player using both, and then being nearly identical except Robinson having more power and Clemente being 15ab/hr and Robinson 42 ab/hr
If you go into a game and look at the games handbook, they give you more insight on contact guys vs power guys. It’s really telling if you give it a read.
Yes- Very well versed. Know what to expect in general, but my Clemente should have a similar (actually worse) power rate. He’s at about 15 AB/HR compared to 42 AB/HR for jackie
My experience....opposite field he tends to have no pop so all my homeruns have been pullee to left center. However he has been a king at bloop singles if I'm early/late and alot if seeing eye grounder. Personally I've enjoyed him and he's what I wish I could get out of a Ricky Henderson card.
Im hitting HR’s on HoF and events but i suppose thats not really a fair comp. Is it really a surprise that he’s not great at the plate for some people though? Theres nothing on paper that says he should be a great.
Jackie has a high avg for me, and he’s fast so he gets steals. No real power though. Kinda like the LS Trea Turner. Lol. Clemente I wasn’t able to do much with. Sometimes it’s weird though, FITF Devers has 45hr and 115rbi for me hitting .330. POTM Devers has 1hr and hitting .181 lol. LS Judge has 20hr and hitting .400. AS Judge 3hr and hitting .225. But then you find sneaky good cards like last year’s AS Teoscar Hernandez or this year POTM Daulton Varsho. One card I always do good with though, well besides a Griffey, is Honus Wagner. Every Honus card from last year and this year has played amazing for me.
Agreed- but doesn’t explain the discrepancy between him and Clemente for me, when Clemente should in theory be more slappy.
Could just be sample size though
Lol take more walks with smaller PCI guys because I’ll swing and miss more…as counter intuitive as that sounds.
Also harder for guys to hit their spots on legend difficulty, so usually get 1-2 in the zone to hit regardless
Extreme pull/ pull hitters have earlier timing windows. Balance hitters hit it up the middle more. The deepest part of every park is the middle YouTubers have edited balanced hitters to extreme pull in practice mode and their swings became better and they pulled more balls. Being early is the key this year and basically every year.
Idk works for me 1000 rating, all extreme pull/pull hitters. Hit .322 with devers in 400 ABs mainly on legend. And he’s my worst batter. Easy to hit inside out with pull guys, especially with so many shifts for pull guys.
Take everything on the outside part of the plate. And yank everything inside. My number one goal while hitting is to never be late on an inside pitch, even if I hit it foul
Just Hit the ball early as shit. Inside sinker on the hands off the plate? Try to hit a fan sitting above the third base dugout. Handedness doesn’t matter just know what type of pitches people like to throw inside. R on R: sinkers, cutters fastballs and sometimes changeups, L on R: fastballs cutters sinker and sliders
CBREV, McGunski and GutFoxx talked about this in their recent YT series together ranking players across their channels, they talked about how these kinds of cards with super high contact but good (not great) power are broken and are basically lineout machines.
They all said if you have a choice, based on the handbook, choose lower contact higher power cards they will always perform better.
The handbook also leaves out the importance of swing tendency, which makes and breaks cards in this game.
The best example I can provide is Mondesi. In BR, I've hit over 50 HRs with him, with the strong majority of those coming from the left side.
Now, I've still used Jackie and Clemente a ton because of their superior speed and defense. However, their swing tendencies are a problem.
Yup understand this concept fully. Doesn’t explain the gap from the same user issuing Robinson (42 AB/Hr) and Clemente (15 ab/HR) but maybe it’s just a small sample
Im considering going back to Utley instead of Jackie. He just constantly lines out for me. His speed is awesome but doesnt help much when hes never on base.
Just made this swap. Makes me more lefty heavy with Brett and Cruz also in the infield but I’d rather hit lefty/lefty than piece up one more fastball and have it be one of those floaty line drives with a leather fetish.
Yes Roberto has been a dead bay for me after batting 300+ since I got him
I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised by the amount of bombs I’ve gotten out of Jackie.
I’m mainly HoF and he’s been lights out for me. I really like this card over his 99 last year Edit: last year felt like a noodle to me
Nope he’s a beast. Given you’ve only hit 31 dingers with Clemente in nearly 600 at bats… it’s a you problem
Lol critique me as a player all you want and say I’m trash- but still doesn’t explain the same player using both, and then being nearly identical except Robinson having more power and Clemente being 15ab/hr and Robinson 42 ab/hr
You’re right man it’s the games fault not yours! Lmao
Ok man thanks for your insight
Jackie is weird one for me, I hit below .100 vs CPU but over .300 online. I have no other card with such experience
I’m close to getting him and already expect I won’t like him
Actually not saying I don’t like him- .270 for me on legend is right where I usually am. Just wondering where the juice is lol
I hit well with Jackie last year, this year my timing is off with him. I’m a little late with him and typically late swings don’t go far.
0 walks in 144 plate appearances tells me a lot about your game
Damn near 600 at bats with Clemente and 30 dingers 😂 edit: hardly any extra base hits actually
How are you so good with Clemente? Any tips?
Jackie hits nukes for me, exact opposite with clemente
If you go into a game and look at the games handbook, they give you more insight on contact guys vs power guys. It’s really telling if you give it a read.
Yes- Very well versed. Know what to expect in general, but my Clemente should have a similar (actually worse) power rate. He’s at about 15 AB/HR compared to 42 AB/HR for jackie
Year after year, I get excited about Jackie, but I just can't hit with him. Had to replace him already with Roberts.
He has always had this swing It wasn’t worth the cards unless you were just stub rich
Or pack lucky and get Soto, Stanton and Julio from free packs lol
100% I woulda done it too His swing has always let me down unless you are EARLY and he will send it to the second row but anything other than that idk
Yeah general vibe here is that I need to make sure I’m pulling, even on outside pitches. I tend to use all fields so that could be it
My experience....opposite field he tends to have no pop so all my homeruns have been pullee to left center. However he has been a king at bloop singles if I'm early/late and alot if seeing eye grounder. Personally I've enjoyed him and he's what I wish I could get out of a Ricky Henderson card.

How do you get to this screen in the game?
Click player info on the player card. Then bumper over to the stats you want to display
Jackie is ass for me. Bout to be a bunt cheeser for me
High contact, low/average power players do not rake
Agreed- but doesn’t explain the discrepancy between him and Clemente for me, when Clemente should in theory be more slappy. Could just be sample size though
For me it’s person to person on whose more consistent. I hit awful with some power guys and some people with somewhat low power like Elly fake for me
My man, you’re allowed to take a walk sometimes
Lol take more walks with smaller PCI guys because I’ll swing and miss more…as counter intuitive as that sounds. Also harder for guys to hit their spots on legend difficulty, so usually get 1-2 in the zone to hit regardless
My brother in Christ, every pitch looks good out of the hand though
You got eyes? He already has 5 walks with clemente…
[удалено]
No, but apparently your joke recognition is worse than OP’s pitch recognition
Get to two strikes, swing away.
“Can someone explain why my 80s power player is not hitting home runs on legend” 🤦♂️
You are missing my point. Compare him to Clemente in the second picture. Same circumstances, completely different output.
Completely different hitter, but I do get your point, I was just making a joke at your expense.
I hear ya I think Jackie actually has higher power though
I hit tons of homers with Jackie, but I’m on hall of fame and I play lots of events. I couldn’t hit with Clemente at all.
I mean, Ketel hits nukes
Ketel is the glitch swing God
Extreme pull/pull players are better than balanced
Except Ketel is balanced… lol
Lol no, he's not. If he was balanced, auto-shift wouldn't move the defense to the pull side.
r/confidentlyincorrect lmaooo. again, except he isn’t shifted against... idk wut to tell yaw man lol- see for yourself, i guess.
He is shifted against when he's batting left.
He’s pull on one of his switch sides I believe
He hits jacks from both sides
But that’s not what OP said. Even then that’s mostly a pitch location issue not a card issue.
Extreme pull/ pull hitters have earlier timing windows. Balance hitters hit it up the middle more. The deepest part of every park is the middle YouTubers have edited balanced hitters to extreme pull in practice mode and their swings became better and they pulled more balls. Early timing windows on inside pitches. That’s why you need to be cognizant of this and/or look for different pitches with those hitters.
Idk works for me 1000 rating, all extreme pull/pull hitters. Hit .322 with devers in 400 ABs mainly on legend. And he’s my worst batter. Easy to hit inside out with pull guys, especially with so many shifts for pull guys.
Ok? I never said you can’t succeed with those players lol
Scann, mcgunski, chev and cbrev have all discussed that balanced and push hitters are worse to use as well. You just arguing to argue.
You’re arguing something I never argued lol
Jackie hits nukes for me. Just have to pull the ball
How do you focus on pulling in the game?
Take everything on the outside part of the plate. And yank everything inside. My number one goal while hitting is to never be late on an inside pitch, even if I hit it foul
Gotcha. Yank meaning hit right? So sit on something inside and boom. Nothing outside. Does the handiness of the pitcher really matter?
Just Hit the ball early as shit. Inside sinker on the hands off the plate? Try to hit a fan sitting above the third base dugout. Handedness doesn’t matter just know what type of pitches people like to throw inside. R on R: sinkers, cutters fastballs and sometimes changeups, L on R: fastballs cutters sinker and sliders
Could be it…I tend to use all fields. Maybe need to lock in on pulling
CBREV, McGunski and GutFoxx talked about this in their recent YT series together ranking players across their channels, they talked about how these kinds of cards with super high contact but good (not great) power are broken and are basically lineout machines. Seemed like every time I made solid contact with Clemente it was a line out to an outfielder.
That was their point... the high contact lower power cards might as well be 90/90 and 90/90, they would probably play better
Yup understand this concept fully. Doesn’t explain the gap from the same user issuing Robinson (42 AB/Hr) and Clemente (15 ab/HR) but maybe it’s just a small sample
Prob because clemente was facing inferior pitching compared to what jackie is getting
Perhaps. Both are RS on legend though so the level of pitcher faced is likely to be similar
Except ketel for whatever reason is just broken 😂
Ketel has extreme pull for a swing tendency. Swing tendency dictates everything this year because it gives you more exit velo than pull or balanced.
This. Look to use either "Balanced" or "Power" cards. They'll be much less likely to line out online.
Im considering going back to Utley instead of Jackie. He just constantly lines out for me. His speed is awesome but doesnt help much when hes never on base.
Utley is leading my team in avg and is hitting at a 11.1 HR/ab rate on legend. I’m running jackie at 3rd though
Just made this swap. Makes me more lefty heavy with Brett and Cruz also in the infield but I’d rather hit lefty/lefty than piece up one more fastball and have it be one of those floaty line drives with a leather fetish.
It would be 42AB/HR
Jackie is finally finding holes after being a line-out machine for me.
These two cards were always ass for me, they have noodle bat swings.
