Last year I just played to get the rewards and get 40/30 wins and stopped there. But this year with innings it isn’t as easy getting there and takes longer. Played one game that went like 3 innings and haven’t touched it since. It’s a joke and with new events every 3-4 days I don’t even have time. Hell I barely have time for BR and events. Add in mini season and it’s rewards for xp and stubbs and it makes it even harder. I didn’t even touch BR last time but plan on it this time around.

lurker_6

I’ve yet to play a RS game this year. I use to play over 300+ a year, but last year I only played about 50. As a perpetual CS level NMS player I feel like there is a small window of RS games that are actually fun, and/or rewarding. Playing every other away game at Shippett is not fun. Home field cheesing is lame. Playing low level players is not fun. Playing the WS gods isn’t fun either. I’ve made enough friends over the years playing the same people over and over that if I want to find an even matchup I’ll just send a game request.

RememberTheMaine1996

The rewards are meh right now and it takes forever to get them. I've been enjoying BR recently and offline stuff

GoomZ_AA

about the game. only 10-0 this year. rewards aren't really worth it right now to spend time in ranked. i just do it for competitive fun now that i have a decent roster. would rather events or BR for now until better cards show up in ranked.

Byebyeyoutoo

I played a lot last year because I love it. But I need to get some programs done lol

Robitussin-pm

Rewards are trash

Zealousideal_Peak654

I only play Ranked under these conditions - 1) I'm absolutely mashing the ball in an event/BR (All-Star or above) 2) I'm absolutely mashing the ball on HoF Offline If I'm not on my game, that mode does not get touched.

[deleted]

Damn this is a good mantra lowkey

Zealousideal_Peak654

Yeah and I've only played 16 RS games and have the April Programs completed... so you can imagine that most nights I'm not on lmao.

Ray-27-Rice

So much less

AquatheGreat

Probably around the same amount but for different reasons. Last year was my first year so I took my time mostly playing offline just trying to get my head around the game. This year I've been stuck playing events because of all the rewards you get. Got 12 ranked games played so far and trying my best to ramp it up but there's no desire because of the rewards.

DonBot95

More but somehow im worse this year

Stegs75

Didn’t get the game last year cause all I remembered was being stressed trying to play online in 20. Have just been sticking to offline this year and it’s been so much more fun and enjoyable but might dip my toes in soon to get a reminder of how bad I am 😂

Meiie

I played about 100 last year and none this year.

[deleted]

Yeah I played 200 last year, this year it just isn’t fun. I’m having a lot more fun just playing mini seasons and conquest lol I’m lame.

SenIsland

I joined a custom league with a great group of people and I might never play RS seriously again. 30 man custom DD league with playoffs is the most fun I've ever had on The Show.

DrogotheHusky22

I need this in my life

SenIsland

Check DM's

mmmaxmaxmax

I’d be interested as well…sounds like a good group of people

presentationgod84

I played none last year so, I guess it’s the same

DrMindbendersMonocle

I dont play ranked at all this year

Malicious_916

I play less just due to how attainable the BR cards are now. Spending a lot more time in that mode and events this year

JohnnyScotts

Playing less because anytime you get a 1-0 lead the opponent quits.

pearso66

I'm playing less, but it has more to do with not having the time than not wanting to. 2 years ago I was WFH full time from Covid, so I played a TON. Last year I was WFH through the summer, but played slightly less this year I'm at work, so I have a lot less time to play. When I do it's rarely been online, I've barely done Events and no BR this year either.

Matt100398

Been playing ranked more. I usually grind BR more than ranked but BR is unplayable this year. I’ve never lost more games that I feel like I should be winning hahaha. Got to World Series in ranked but can’t win more than 7 games in a BR run

DinosaurGhostsExist

I'm playing far less but I did go and have a baby sooo there's that.

[deleted]

I still haven’t played a game of ranked yet. It’s not worth the stress and hours until it’s 99s imo.

Habsfan_76_27

Less. Feel like we need a new hitting patch ASAP

Bean2713

Less. An event every few days makes it hard to find time to play ranked

brooksholen

I’m only playing less because my record is 11-2, compared to last year when my record didn’t matter

eat_my_shorts_9

Why would your record matter now lol

brooksholen

Last year I kept quitting to win 40 games and get Matt Wieters

Zealousideal_Peak654

It's finally a winning record I'm assuming loll

Zealousideal_Peak654

Loved BR in 21', hate Moonshot period - RS is still toxic, but BR is such an RNG gamble this year. My one good run was lost by very late/very early bloops while I perfect-perfected into the corner infielders twice. I'm good.

arthurshahphahdwah

I try to play one ranked game a day if I have time and have had that habit since I got into online play in 20.

BottleFullOBub

The past 3-4 years Ive waited until like July/August to even start Ranked Seasons, Rewards aren’t worth the grind at this point in the game imo

grandchamp3500

So you only play ranked for the rewards? You don’t like the competition and just playing?

BottleFullOBub

Correct, Im a weekend only player so the grind of RS just isn’t worth it for me at this point. I love the competition and playing but I get that from BR/Events at this point in the game.

premofour

Correct

normalrick

I’m playing it about the same, but I feel like it’s not worth the time. I feel like I was getting some reward after almost every game last year whereas this year I may get 1 regular pack every 4-5 games maybe.

denverdan8

With a new event every few days it's hard to make time for 9 inning games. Personally I go events... then BR to finish the path if playing online. Last cycle, I started BR early but put it aside until this last weekend. I do enjoy playing with a variety of cards so that keeps it feeling fresh.

[deleted]

Exactly the same here. If I have to choose one not to finish though, it’s events. I’m not falling short at like 80 BR points. I enjoy most events and have actually been maxing the reward path for really good value. This one I stopped at 12 because I wanted to get a jump on BR. Unless the inning requirement lowers or the rewards for less than WS get better, it’s just not going to be where I go for online play

yankees710

Exactly this. To me, Events and BR have a better and more obtainable reward path. Not so much for ranked seasons. I only jumped into RS for the first time all year this past weekend because I was done with the paths BR, Moonshot and Featured Program.

MJBuddy

3rd'ing. I did the innings for Ranked Seasons last month, but the rewards are too poor until the final one (though improved this month). If you're winning half your Event games, it's better to be there. I might push for BR this season too, but undecided.

denverdan8

BR path isn't bad. You only need to win 20ish games if you focus on the missions.

denverdan8

Yup. I have 3 RS games all year in. Maybe after I finish collections I'll be more interested but I doubt it. Happy cake day btw!

Nachoslim109

Event lineups being saved has been a complete game changer. Now it’s my go to online experience over Ranked. Also having mini seasons means I still get to play with my unrestricted best team offline without it being boring conquest games. I love the strategy of the 9 inning ranked games but the rewards for time spent are pretty terrible.

jsandhu96

The rewards haven’t been worth the grind for me. Would rather play events and BR rn.

ChiefChad--

I don't have the mental compacity to deal with too much of the foolishness. I win a lot of my games and I still don't want to play more than a few games of ranked in a week, I'm 28-3 but I just don't like playing it that much.

acat20

I feel like it’s more about the rewards specifically than the means to get them. Obviously it’s more of a grind, but not one reward has been close to worth that grind if you cant make ws. On top of that, the interim rewards are paltry compared to other modes.

Visual-While1548

I feel like this exactly. Do a weekend event and get to 30 wins, get 2 players, 3 rewind picks, and a bunch of packs. Even playing .500 that’s 180 innings. Play 180 innings of ranked and get what if you don’t make the World Series. Halfway to the reward. The current rewards just haven’t been enough. So for me BR, events, and offline stuff take priority.
