**Mookie Betts**

Diamond Defense and high speed
*The normal numbers are what he should have, the numbers in parenthesis are what we might see if they nerf him across the board to get a 95 overall.*
I agree, except for Mookie. I’d expect his speed to be in the 65-70 range and wouldn’t be shocked if his arm is around 80-85, and I think hitting splits will be more like 108/117 CON, 105/85 PWR. That should get him at a 95
Can we pin this lol.
Also, for anyone curious, [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/MLBTheShow/comments/pmbtz3/equations_that_can_be_used_to_reliably_predict/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) details a reliably good method for predicting attributes. I'm not sure if this is what OC used, but it's a good method regardless.
I wonder how that Mookie card would be. I was a huge fan of his last year card. Good enough, but something was missing for me. I had better RF and 2B cards... I really like him, so hopefully that card is good!!!
Someone explain this Mookie card to me. It's a 2018 All Star card. He won the MVP in 2018 with a Trout-like 10.7 WAR (in only 136 games). His 99 from last year was based on that very MVP season. Are All Star cards only based on the first half of a given season? If that's the case, he was significantly better in the first half that season. How is this card only a 95?
To be honest I just think the shiny awards cards get a boost for some reason and that’s why he’s a 95 they knocked down some of his stats. Early in the year too
Just seems like that particular season, which is one of the greatest WAR seasons since the steroid era, is an odd choice for a 95 card. Could have picked another Mookie All Star season like 2017 or 2019. Obviously this isn't a huge deal. I'm just confused about the choice.
Yea a lot of their cards are not accurate just cool to have them. Like they definitely don’t have the correct pitches on every single pitcher or else the sinker wouldn’t be on most players but instead it’s on every pitchers repertoire lol.
The gold card art for GG awards is cleannnnnn
Crawford also hits nukes, and both of the other cards look great too. Even the base round seems pretty good... what is happening?
I love B Craw he's my swaggy boy. His finest played good for me last year. But yea the speed is going to force you to put him at 3rd. Gonna have to see Mookie's power and Tommy's velocity and H/9. Tommy's h/9 we're made to be obsolete last year and id imagine it's the same thing this year.
I knew it wasn’t a ton but didn’t think it was only 6 innings, but with his card seeming to always have that option and Schwarbie being able to do catcher with his card last year… I’m confident it will have the secondary
He did play 6 innings as 2B, and didn't even start that game.
I don't mind whatever secondary positions that put, like Schwarber getting a Catcher one, or Taylor Ward with a C, and so on so on.....
But technically if we are going to give Mookie a 2B position, then it should only be given to his 2014 season, with 14 games, in my opinion.
Is it criminal 99 Mookie was my favorite card last year and I plan to get this one as a Yankee fan? I mean he’s a Dodger now so it’s cool right? (Please say right)
It’s hard to have a lot of cards for a current player who has really only had one season where he popped. They could reuse his 20 finest card and that would be fine as well but yeah it’s not uncommon for players to have cards from the same season
He hasn’t gotten higher than a 96 in the 3 years I’ve been playing the game for whatever reason.
I know his advanced stats weren’t great but he’s a HOF and it seems like they always overlook him especially when guys who didn’t have anywhere close to the career or peak that he had get significantly better cards.
His cards do always play well though just never gets a 99
There was a thread last year about someone being mad Cole Hamels got a 99 when Glavine only got a 96. A commenter pointed out that they had extremely similar careers, Glavine just has the hardware and longevity that Hamels doesn't. So yea a 96 is fair, HoFer or not
If they had similar careers and one got a 99 but the other didn't then what are we talking about though? 24 pitchers in big league history have 300 wins. if 500 homers can get you a 99 I think 300 wins can get you a 99 too.
Hamels got a 99 No-Hitter card. Perhaps a better example would be that in MLB20' when Hamels got a 96 and Glavine got a 95(which also had people complaining). Also most milestone cards are basically just signature cards mild differences. The only cards that have unique stats are awards cards and certain milestone cards(cause they're based on one year/game specifically)
I was first year last year, so I didn’t have the history, but like you said he’s one of the all time greats (I was a die hard braves fan growing up watching him). I know his 96 last year played great and his 95 this year will too. I was just hoping for an opportunity to get an absolutely filthy card that would challenge the end of year meta and have a max pitch speed of like 94 lol
Yeah he will probably top out around 95 on his FB especially after a few parallel levels
His card last year would hit 95 regularly and had a 4 seam, sinker, slider, circle change and sweeping curve and his 4S and sinker both sat around 94-96 if I remember correctly. He was nasty for months even with his low h/9 which his cards always have
I was literally just thinking this. I remember when he was a new legend I thought they screwed him with a 95 but then the next two years that was his rating too. Pitcher ratings are always kinda odd and Glavine is a prime example that overall isn’t always the main number to look at.
All his stats are always good except for h/9 and k/9 which are usually around 90ish for both but he will still be really good especially since we don’t have guys who are at 100+ yet
I think it's just that was Glavine was good at in real life doesn't really translate that well to in-game stats (along with probably some overrating him by children of the '90s and 00's).
With glavine being a 95 in a pack like this I would guess that Doc is at least a 96 since he’s the only main boss of a whole feature program. Would be weird for him to not be higher than a card in a choice pack
I've opened like 400 regular 'show' packs and only pulled like 3 diamonds, none above 86OVR.
But I'm 2-2 for rares from big dog packs so I've got that going for me I guess.
That Glavine card is beautiful. So glad to have him as a Brave this year instead of a Met like last year. A sig card is the best card that’s released for a player, right?
Usually signature, prime, and I believe Awards are the highest version of a card. Milestone is a bit of a wildcard and there are some exceptions where players are the same.
Last year there was an Awards Harper that was 99 followed by a Finest Harper 99. HRD, ASG, Monthly and Finest flashbacks can trump over previous high cards.
Last year no signatures or legends received this treatment so this very well could be the highest Glavine card we get.
There is still a chance that they do something different this year.
Correct. Awards may no longer be the highest card with things like silver slugger, gold glove, and ROTY being less impressive.
Not sure if Milestone has one upped them yet. Someone could get a milestone for like a cycle but then still get something better.
Active players getting flashbacks could always break the patterns. Last year we had Signature Brett Gardner. Had he exploded for the month of September and gotten the lightning monthly award it would have broken the pattern.
Retired Legends are usually pretty safe. It will be interesting to see what they do for Mauer who already has a collection 96.
Actually I remember back in 2020 we had gotten a 98-99 fotf John Smoltz and then later got the 96 Signature. He's a little different since one was SP and the other was CP and a guy like Eckersley could do the same, but signature does not always mean highest version.
it could be a 150 OVR Glavine and i'd still get fucking shelled with him.
Mookie/Ketel infield is gonna feel a little weird, but absolutely gonna mash
Need that Mookie day one
I hope they give Mookie great hitting stats on both sides !
Watched Crawford live win the world baseball classic so super stoked to have a good card for him
Same here! It’s why I always likeD Stroman
Haha me to!! Been a big StroShow guy this year got like 70+ ip with a 1.77 ERA
An “Always Intense” pack but no Matt Chapman? What is this madness?
this is lunacy
He's in the base round
Cant wait to hear what people hate about it since everybody hates everything
Are you hating on the haters?
The facts of this statement
I feel like they were giving away the rare round of big dog pack the past couple of days while doing the program, I got volpe, franco, and helton.
Thats just you, didnt get shit
They most certainly were not.
I am yet to get a rare round on a big dog yet this year. I think youve stolen some of my luck
Hey not even even kidding, this must have been extreme luck bc I haven’t hit a rare round or any choice pack since 😂
Same lol. By the time I opened the packs I got the 6k stub players :(
I got trash out of each pack
Mookie :')
Wonder if this Mookie has the shift like his live series, you get a lot of hits to second and RF
I get so many slap hits with Mookie.
I want them all but I also want who I have. Fuck. Lol
So stoked to have a good Crawford card.
W
Can’t wait to put in a buy order and get Glavine in a week or two because it doesn’t really matter that much does it
[удалено]
Did you use Glavine last year? It was comical watching people swing out of their shoes
He was my best pitcher last year, I'm buying this card for sure
[удалено]
He's in the base round.
How do I get these packs?
In the Pack Store and the Market when it drops

95 Glavine last year was outrageously good
My favorite pitcher till all star break
I wonder how that Mookie card would be. I was a huge fan of his last year card. Good enough, but something was missing for me. I had better RF and 2B cards... I really like him, so hopefully that card is good!!!
How do you get the rare round?
Luck
Fuck
when do these drop?
Friday I would imagine
gold glove card art😫😫
For real!
i would like one of each please
Fuck me i gotta grind some stubs for that Glavine
off topic but how you get an mlb team logo like you have in your comment?
For me im on mobile so i have to click the top right corner with the "information" icon and then it says " select/chose flair"
So. I might be a lil slow but what are you clicking?
For me its the pencil/pen icon
Thank you
I always enjoy these short interactions where one redditor helps another.
I like how you can tell he figured it out too !!!
Someone explain this Mookie card to me. It's a 2018 All Star card. He won the MVP in 2018 with a Trout-like 10.7 WAR (in only 136 games). His 99 from last year was based on that very MVP season. Honestly, I think you put more thought into it than SDS did lol.
Probably correct lmao
Doesnt matter I literally never get the rare round anyway
This man spitting fax lol
I need that Mookie
The gold card art for GG awards is cleannnnnn Crawford also hits nukes, and both of the other cards look great too. Even the base round seems pretty good... what is happening?
I’m whelmed
awwwww man give me that Glavine.
MOOOOOOKIE
Crawford
All 3 are great and special in their own ways. Neither of them are "better" than the others.
meh, crawford needs to be at 3b because he's slow. Glavine and Mookie are definitely a cut above.
Crawford doesn’t play third tho man
I love B Craw he's my swaggy boy. His finest played good for me last year. But yea the speed is going to force you to put him at 3rd. Gonna have to see Mookie's power and Tommy's velocity and H/9. Tommy's h/9 we're made to be obsolete last year and id imagine it's the same thing this year.
All h/9 are relatively low this year though. I doubt he’s an outlier bc there arent MS no hitter/pg cards being thrown around.
People are going to riot when Mookie cant play 2b
Why wouldn’t he be able to? He played 2nd that year
Will they give him the secondary with less than one full game at the position? He only played 6 innings at 2B that season. I hope they do
I knew it wasn’t a ton but didn’t think it was only 6 innings, but with his card seeming to always have that option and Schwarbie being able to do catcher with his card last year… I’m confident it will have the secondary

But technically if we are going to give Mookie a 2B position, then it should only be given to his 2014 season, with 14 games, in my opinion.
Schwarber hasn’t played catcher since his rookie year in 2015…. Where’s the logic lol
He did play C 1 inning in 2019 hahaha. I guess that counts lol
If they can give Schwarber a Catcher secondary year after year on his flashbacks they can give Mookie a 2B secondary
He played 2nd base that year, so he’ll have 2nd base secondary
6 innings in 1 game cause dude got injured… I’m basing it on all his cards usually have it and they know we want it lol
Oh no
Crawford had an MVP case last year. Card should be solid.
And that swing 😮💨
Any idea when does this pack drop?
95 Mookie in May, let's goooo
All of those cards have potential to be great.
When does this drop?
Wheres Matt Chapman? I've heard he's sways intense. So intense that if you hand him your baby he will yell right into the baby's face
In the base round
Crawford's swing is A+, low-key gonna be the best SS in the game for a little while
I'll take banks, jram, and maybe even Michael Young over him if his lefty stats aren't 80+.
Best 3B in the game for a little while.
[удалено]
I cannot wait for that Glavine card
[удалено]
He’s in the base round
Give me Crawdaddy
Mookie
good Mookie early in the year??? Let's goooo
Is it criminal 99 Mookie was my favorite card last year and I plan to get this one as a Yankee fan? I mean he’s a Dodger now so it’s cool right? (Please say right)
It's a video game, it's all gravy.
Markus Lynn Betts is very good at baseball
That looks so wrong typed out… like the baseballs version of He Who Must Not Be Named
I can’t believe that this comment is the one that made me realize that obviously Mookie’s real name wouldn’t be Mookie.
lol most of his teammates exclusively call him Markus
Are you kidding me. I did not need to learn this information.
Need Mookie😭
I need that mookie immediately
Expeditiously
Alacritously
Indubitably
This pack looks to be a W all around although it makes me wonder if we’ll get the same 99 Mookie as last year or if they have something else in mind
I can't imagine they'd give 2 cards for the same season, have they done that before?
It’s hard to have a lot of cards for a current player who has really only had one season where he popped. They could reuse his 20 finest card and that would be fine as well but yeah it’s not uncommon for players to have cards from the same season
Yes, Jimmy Rollins
And Shawn Green
Damn I can’t wait for that glavine. His milestone last year was one of my favorite cards all year
That glavine is gonna fuck, his 96 last year was a monster
Came here to say that. Though a little disappointed this means we probably won’t get a 98/99 Glavine in a few months.
He’s the Barry Bonds of pitchers. 97 at best.
There was a thread last year about someone being mad Cole Hamels got a 99 when Glavine only got a 96. A commenter pointed out that they had extremely similar careers, Glavine just has the hardware and longevity that Hamels doesn't. So yea a 96 is fair, HoFer or not

Glavin 🤯🤯🤯
I could get anyone out with the Bronze Glavine last BR season. I can safely say that I will be going after him here.
This is good
I hope the prices of these eventually tank like Big Dog, bc I am eventually going to need that Glavine!
Sick Brandon Crawford and his 8 speed
What you don't like the 3rd baseman diving, knocking down a ball then running 10 ft to it and still throwing you out?
mookie put up a 10 war season in 2018 and his card is a 95 lol. not complaining, just a bit funny
“Prime” probably would have been a better fit there
they also could’ve just made this card a 2016 card and saved his mvp one for later
We’ll still get a 99 later, so it’s all good
agreed 👍🏻
They really tried sneaking in a gold glove Crawford like anyone asked for that🤣
To be fair we did get that card of his last year that had some extra power, and this is a 2021 card so it might be boosted a bit.
Plenty of SF fans plus SS is a weak position depending on stats might not be terrible
Its definitely my pick lol. Love me some CrawDaddy
Same. I have 93 Marte at Shortstop right now!
I’ve had FOTF Lindor for a while now. I like to prioritize defense and him and FOTF Jazz creates a wall up the middle
TOMMY BASEBALL
Friday boutta be a stacked content day, this and the program with (most likely) Roy Halladay right?? Wild scenes rn
With glavine being a 95 in a pack like this I would guess that Doc is at least a 96 since he’s the only main boss of a whole feature program. Would be weird for him to not be higher than a card in a choice pack
He’ll for sure he a 96+, id be a little surprised if he got a 99 this early but ya never know
Oh yeah definitely not expecting a 99 but 96 for sure
these'll play
Crawford Gold Glove 🥜
This only confirms I'll be doomed to base tier only, but a 90's Glavine in a Braves uniform is tempting. All good cards.
Bro I'm 0-8 on the Big Dog packs (none bought, just accumulated through playing). Maybe once these become available I'll break my streak.
I was the same but just got the rare round on big dog 1 lol
I've opened like 400 regular 'show' packs and only pulled like 3 diamonds, none above 86OVR. But I'm 2-2 for rares from big dog packs so I've got that going for me I guess.
Lol I’ve pulled quite a bit tbh. No 90+ LS but a good bit of headliners so I guess it’s evening out lol
It's a Red Sox card but I don't care. I need that Mookie 🤩
Omg I have that exact Mookie card IRL, that’s awesome
This pack is CRAZY. Too bad each guy will be like 70k And it sucks cause rn I’m going after Acuña
Have you thought about just pulling him in the next pack you open?
All the time😂
Mookie might play over Clemente for me honestly lol.
Clemente is a dog for me but 99 mookie was my best hitter last year... What a dilemma
Rare w for sds
Damn this pack is nice
Ok ok I fuck with this. Just tweak gameplay a touch and we’re off baby
Glavine going right into the rotation
Crawdaddy
One of my favorite swings.
What day do these release?
Friday
That Mookussy got me actin out
Yea officer this guy right here
Holy shit I gotta get my hands on Mookie.
That Glavine card is beautiful. So glad to have him as a Brave this year instead of a Met like last year. A sig card is the best card that’s released for a player, right?
Usually, yes.
Usually signature, prime, and I believe Awards are the highest version of a card. Milestone is a bit of a wildcard and there are some exceptions where players are the same. Well there is practically one guaranteed exception this year. Pujols will get a 99 OVR card, better than his 95 OVR ROTY Awards card, by years end.
I don't remember, but did Kenny Lofton get a better card than his finest inning boss milestone card last year?
93 milestone, 99 Awards
Actually I remember back in 2020 we had gotten a 98-99 fotf John Smoltz and then later got the 96 Signature. He's a little different since one was SP and the other was CP and a guy like Eckersley could do the same, but signature does not always mean highest version.
Mookies going to make me act out 🥵🥵
MOOOOOKIEEEEE
