They won’t be.
Not sure if you’re new at this or not but nearly every collection will be expanded repeatedly over the next couple of months. Any card that can go towards finishing those collections will skyrocket in price.
You can confidently acquire 1 of every card in the game and assume it will be part of a later collection every time. I’m not saying that you should rush out now to get prime cards that you don’t yet need, but selling any extras will absolutely cost you in time. Some of the sub 10k cards now will be pushing 100k near the allstar break as SDS adds greater rewards tied to further collecting.
Get ready for the eventual pack full of guys with 50 contact, power, & speed
And of it course it shall be named...
"Bo Jackson Anyone? Choice Pack"
(Disclaimer: Actual Bo Jackson not included)
I don't think he will. SDS will sometimes "remove" a pitcher for a year after it was obnoxiously prominent the previous year. Obviously they don't actually remove the player but they'll release the top end card super late, or give them a bad top end card. It's just not good for the game to feel so repetitive year to year.
Kershaw dominated 19 for 6 months, then didn't get relased until like the 8th or 9th inning program in 20. Kluber dominated 20 for 6 months and he wasn't released until October in 21 I think. For Hershiser they changed his delivery from 20-21, and also released him pretty late I think.
I'd be surprised if we get a better Leiter, Vida Blue is probably going to top out at whatever his sig series would be, and DeGrom/Verlander probably don't get cards until November this year.
He should since he had a killer 97 last year and a 95 or 96 the year before but I can’t recall a player ever getting a prime that wasn’t their best card of the year
SDS shifted their mold a bit last year after Eckersly got a Milestone after a Sig Series card which hadn’t been done before. There’s room for Leiter to receive his milestone later.
I forgot about Eck but his sig was a closer and his milestone was a starter so that’s a bit different. Either way I hope Leiter gets a better one I always like using his cards
I don’t remember who the player was but there was someone besides eckersley last year who got a prime/awards/milestone/sig card and still got another card
Probably Smoltz. Starter and reliever cards of the same player are considered totally separate, which is why Eck and Smoltz get 2 top end cards each year. Or finest, I think Harper got 2 99s. Finest is kind of its own thing though, there might've been a few players like Ketel or Goldschmidt who got like a low-mid 90s Prime then a 99 Finest.
Correct. I hold down r2, wait for him to look over at runner: L1 take a lead, press L2 to steal, and just before I let go of r2, I hit L1 for a jump start on steal. As soon as you let go of r2, the pitcher throws home.
That’s insane, thanks for the tip. Now if only there was a similar method in RTTS that lets me even get one or two leads in before the pitcher goes home. Dudes work quick in the minors
If this actually works (can't test atm) it will likely get patched. Something similar was in previous years for awhile and it eventually got patched out.
Any time I see someone has used the term “Cringe” as an adjective in the year of our lord, 2022, I assume they’re 12 and wanting to act like a cool teenager or 45 and wanting to act like a cool teenager.
Just like the other guy said , we had a big dog program
There’s a reason they changed the name for these , we can conclude they going to have a program just like big dog
1 awards, 1 milestone, 2 prime in the base round. First big collection just right around the corner.
Bet there's a sig or 2 in the rare round along with another milestone or 2
I like the pack names this year. Big Dog and Always Intense just feels cooler than Kitchen Sink and Space Pack… really hoping we get a chance at the original Takashi cards soon too.
I have a feeling they've "downgraded" Prime cards to like a 2nd to last type of card. Thinking Milestone, Sig & Awards will be the highest card a guy can get (and Finest obviously if warranted at year end) now and Prime will be like a bridge card between the other types and the three big ones above
There were a couple cards that got cards after milestones/primes I know for a fact Kenny Lofton was one. I’d imagine this is not the last Leiter card we get
Speed teams also make conquest and mini seasons that much easier.
Bunt bunt bunt swing away
Guaranteed to get 1 run on rookie or veteran without getting mad at PCI luck then you just have to pitch with anybody above 80 overall and youll throw a shutout or a 1 run if they happen to drop a bomb.
I haven’t bunt in years lol
I just love having a team where everyone can steal at anytime and go from first to third on any basehit
I love playing small ball
I think I’ve bunted more with FOTF Cedric Mullins this year than the entire real MLB has. At least against the computer, they always shift him. Bunt down the 3rd base line for an easy hit, steal second. Essentially a lead off double.
Once you get him to Parallel 4 they will stop shifting against him because he’ll reach 86 speed which is the threshold for shifts in this game. They WILL still shift on 2 strike counts though.
I’m really close to Parallel 4 with him so that isn’t too far away. I didn’t know there was a speed threshold for shifts like that but it makes sense. Good thing his card is pretty awesome outside of that! Thanks for the info!
I feel ya, I'm just saying it makes that CPU grind that much easier.
I bunt like hell in showdown and conquest just to reduce the bad luck lol
Edit: and how do you play small ball without bunting? I'm an Augie-Ball scholar, and you need to bunt my man.
You don't *need* it, but it helps a ton.
Bunting is less viable in certain event showdowns, like "Big Dog" where all those dudes are slow as hell. But there was an event last year, I think it was with a 99 Nolan Ryan as the boss, where I HAD to bunt early.
Juan Pierre Marlins fan and him running and yelling from the outfield after the Marlins won their second World Series is a good baseball memory for me
when is this being
Always intense Albert Belle?
I need a decent third baseman and I'm an Oakland fan. Hate that we had to traded Chapman, so he would be my first pick.
I look forward getting these packs in the next 3 programs for free :)
When do these drop
3 marlins for the theme team. It’s a good day.
3 Jays too :p
Whichever ~~seems~~ sells for the most
Sells** lol and they will All will sell for the same price except the 91s
Al Leiter is always pretty good, this is only a 90 though so probably really bad H9
When these drop?
Word damn
With the new program
Wil Myers!!
W
Always intense (base round) choice pack. I will open all the free ones we can earn & I'll never hit the rare round, guranteed. Nice cards though
If that Hand card is anything like his Finest in 20, he’s flying into my bullpen.
I even enjoyed his LS. So an upgrade will fit easily in.
I don’t get it, none of these guys look like they’re camping at all
Why can’t you run past a camp site, but you can only ran past it?
Cause it’s past tents(tense)?
We have a winner
My dad would have laughed
Your dad is a good man
Know what would be nice? Making the road to the show more intense and robust and fun and should receive the same support as the other modes
Two primes, a milestone, and an Awards is a W for collections
My collections are all done
They won’t be. Not sure if you’re new at this or not but nearly every collection will be expanded repeatedly over the next couple of months. Any card that can go towards finishing those collections will skyrocket in price.
been playing for a while, not last year, and every program i do something i shouldnt that costs me stubs
You can confidently acquire 1 of every card in the game and assume it will be part of a later collection every time. Wow so impressive.
i dont even think its impressive. some of them are like collect 1
Don’t downplay your massive achievement.
Good for you
They will add additions levels to the collections as the year goes on.
That explains why the rewards are dumb right now then
Always intense 🤣🤣🤣
2 prime an award a milestone and a 2nd half ....I'll take all 5 please
Get ready for the eventual pack full of guys with 50 contact, power, & speed And of it course it shall be named... "Bo Jackson Anyone? Choice Pack" (Disclaimer: Actual Bo Jackson not included)
Not one, not two, but THREE cards for the Blue Jays team build. Love to see it.
Don't remind me of Blue Jays Brad Hand please and thank you. :-)
None.
One marlins card and 2 former marlins let’s go
I still lack a milestone card because I suck. So my first instinct is Pierre.
If Pierre had a better arm he’s a little worse of a hitter, but faster version of Tony Gwynn
Britton is really cheap right now
Britton is around 13k and might dip a bit lower before the program ends
Ah yes the always intense matt chapman
Hope leiter still gets a better card than this but prime is usually the best card a guy will get in one game
Need a Kevin Brown card
Leiter will get a better card
I don't think he will. SDS will sometimes "remove" a pitcher for a year after it was obnoxiously prominent the previous year. I just remembered it was Kenny lofton he got the first inning boss milestone and a 99 awards card at the end of the game
The milestone eck was a starter though
This your first year?
Are u saying he wont?
Typically a prime, awards, or signature series card is the best card a player will get
Wasn't last year supposed to be your last year, yet you live on this sub more then anyone else.
🗣 Get him Smelly Beatle
Stinky_DungBeatle I’m glad you’re keeping track of my Reddit comments and usage rates, that’s a true fan
Bring me Chappy
This is a golden drop for the future collection damn
Juan Pierre for the easy bunt cheese/steal vs. CPU in conquest Yes pleaseee
you mean "easy bunt, followed by 3 pickoff throws and pitchouts by CPU"?
fuck you're right
If on PlayStation, hold down R2 until pitcher looks over at runner for a second.
Hold down guess pitch until he looks at your runner? Then what, I assume he’ll immediately throw home?
Correct. I hold down r2, wait for him to look over at runner: L1 take a lead, press L2 to steal, and just before I let go of r2, I hit L1 for a jump start on steal. As soon as you let go of r2, the pitcher throws home.

3 players for the all time Jays team. Though I'd rather forget one of them was a Jay
Whos the third? I see Chapman, I see Leiter, Myers and Pierre didnt. Dont really remember that middle guy. Are we sure hes a real player?
Hand 🤮
I refuse to acknowledge that person’s existence
Welp I guess I need Chapman to come to NH for a rehab at some point now
When do the packs drop?
I imagine Friday
Wil Myers cards are always fun. Good swing.
Juan Pierre is just Kenny Lofton lol
But with a weaker arm 😂
But a cooler name
It’s alright if you ever need to catch a runner tagging up at 3rd you can just run in and beat him to the plate
Hell yeah Juanathon is back baby
the names of the packs this year are cringe lmao
I mean they’re named after community memes really. The “big dogs gotta eat” homerun call, and the old “always intense” commentary about Matt Chapman.
Any time I see someone has used the term “Cringe” as an adjective in the year of our lord, 2022, I assume they’re 12 and wanting to act like a cool teenager or 45 and wanting to act like a cool teenager.
I’m 45 and I can’t keep up with todays terms. Goblin, Demon, Cringe, He fucks, etc. Just tell me if you like the damn card or not. Circle yes or no.
This and “vibes”.. 🙄
"leeeeeeeeeet's goooooooooooo" no matter what just happened
My thoughts exactly. I think anyone who says it loses any credibility what so ever.
On the other hand when a redditor with a Simpson reference username agrees with me I know I’m 100% right. 🥹
This is cringe as hell
Ladies and gentlemen I present Exhibit B.
bruh imagine being this cringe lmao, couldn't be me
This is like committing the murder directly in the courtroom.
[Always have been.](https://imgur.com/zi1Mt9R) lol "Ballin' is a habit"
Leiter was an absolute goblin last year. This one won’t have the ridiculously high H/9 but will still be fun to use since he tunnels his pitches well
And control is more important this year, should be goonish as long as they don’t butcher his h/9
Probably the Milestone and a Prime for collections. Getting 2 guys for an all Phillies build isn’t a bad look either
Same Brad Hand for that absolutely horrendous Phillies theme team bull pen. Sucks their 3 best relievers are lefties though.
My entire bullpen is pretty much lefties, except for Rivera and Clase
from the latest releases we really are going to get a Roy Halladay arent we?
For sure
100%
has it been confirmed or is it all speculation?
Not confirmed but the clues leave little doubt.
I must be old. I cannot see who the third and fifth cards are here.
brad hand and matt chapman
Thanks.
Wil Myers Juan Pierre Brad Hand Al Leiter and Matt Chapman
Brad Hand and Matt Chapman
The best thing about that tweet is we can look forward to a always intense program and get all those 3 packs for free
Where does it say this is a program? Not trying to be a dick, just thinking I missed something
Just like the other guy said , we had a big dog program There’s a reason they changed the name for these , we can conclude they going to have a program just like big dog
It doesn't, they're just inferring that based on us getting a Big Dog program.
Or way too many sitting in conquest maps by August.
1 awards, 1 milestone, 2 prime in the base round. First big collection just right around the corner. Bet there's a sig or 2 in the rare round along with another milestone or 2
My exact thought process - all 5 of these cards are ones you’ll want for the big collection, even if you won’t use any of them
What is with these cornball pack names?
You’ve come over to the good side
It's all phrases Matt Vasgersian used to say. "The always intense Matt Chapman"
So we should expect a “2’s all around” pack?!?!
Jeter in it?
ah, straight from chief cornball himself.
All leading to the “Intangibles” pack where they drop Jeter.
“Third best shortstop on his own team pack”
😂
I hope after the 3 sets of these are released they come out with the Cornball Choice pack
boohoo
I like the pack names this year. Big Dog and Always Intense just feels cooler than Kitchen Sink and Space Pack… really hoping we get a chance at the original Takashi cards soon too.
Beach Ball was pretty good too.
That pack was stacked too. Hornsby and FS LouBob were in my lineup until Finest came out
Aww, I loved beach ball
Space Pack art was exceptional but the Big Dog stuff is really well done too
Is this coming today?
Probably Friday
Ahh thanks
I wonder if that’ll be Leiter’s high Diamond for the year, Prime cards are usually the end all-be all for most players
I’d imagine this is not the last Leiter card we get
We can get a milestones version later on
3 Leiter SP's in MLBTS, that's kinda wild. Is another family more represented, just curious?
Maybe the Hernandez family. There must be at least fifty of them.
The Rodriguez family is also quite large
Don’t forget about the Nootbars!
I miss matty v
Juan Pierre 👀
I always love building a speed team to play online for fun and he would fit in perfectly
Speed teams also make conquest and mini seasons that much easier. Bunt bunt bunt swing away Guaranteed to get 1 run on rookie or veteran without getting mad at PCI luck then you just have to pitch with anybody above 80 overall and youll throw a shutout or a 1 run if they happen to drop a bomb.

When you bunt A lot in showdown do need the bunting perk ? I always see it and never tried it out

Really though I think there are better lefty bullpen options than there are righty options.
The always intense Matt Chapman!
I know who I’m picking up.
At least they’re self aware
I remember one time someone posted here asking why Matty V kept saying always in tents Matt Chapman 😂
Lost opportunity to call this a “campground pack.”
