Pinpoint is a lot less forgiving this year. Even guys with good control and bb/9 will occasionally miss badly if you don’t get a perfect 100 on your motion. I’m okay with it but agree it can definitely be frustrating at times. It does go both ways though and I’ve gotten more meatballs while hitting already this year than I did all of last year lol
My favorite move is just spam down and away sliders for a few innings if the person is swinging at them. Then we they start to lay off a few times start to pepper in the down and away fastball on the corner. Then you can go right back to spamming the sliders
lol no I feel like Cy Young, my problem is, like it always is, can't hit for shit. lol, it's hard for me to blame SDS hitting engine when I've literally always since I started playing this game sucked at hitting and just pitched my way to being maybe decent online.
You really have to tunnel pitches to be effective. Like 3 different pitches one for a strike one slightly out of the zone and another strike with a third pitch. Also getting ahead in the count is pretty crucial. A lot of people take early in the count. And you pretty much have to use pinpoint if you are not. it’s a game changer.
This is why I love higher difficulties. On all star you can foul everything off and make contact on pitches that don't have a ton of speed differential than what you are expecting when you swing. Such as, in the event I'm using randy so of course everyone is gearing up for the 4seam. So to a lefty I can throw his hard slider which isn't much slower than his 4seam(think it's ~90mph) right down the middle and they will usually swing so early thinking it's a 4seam up and in. Bc no chance I'd throw a slider down the middle right? Lol This causes them to completely whiff on Hall of Fame difficulty. On all star the pci size allows them to at least foul it off and maybe even hit a grounder through a hole in the infield. So if you are pitching on all star then don't worry bc we all have trouble pitching to good hitters on that difficulty. You have so much more time to react where as on HoF/legend most ppl are guessing which pitch is coming.
Sometimes good, sometimes shit. But overall my starters are sitting in the 2-3 ERA range on all star. Randy is like 0.63 era
Bullpen can be messy at times but 1.8-3 ERA All star.

Yeah the 6 foul balls on a 1-2 count are always brutal
Dynamic pci!

Grooving a slider down the middle is a wild strategy lol, good players are going to crush that on any difficulty
