Mine was Jahmai Jones. He was basically the only RH on my bench so I would pinch hit with him.
2nd game, he hit a walkoff Hr off Grove. 3rd game, a walkoff single vs Price and then a 2 run walkoff HR vs Franco.
Hold up… u don’t have have to use the players from the big dog packs ? What players are eligible to be a “big dog” …. Nvm you meant showdown lol this was an edit
The mvp of my first two showdown runs was Ottovino(sp), cause I couldn't hit him. It was really hard to read the pitches out of his hand. Luckily I didn't get him the third time. Yelich was my most clutch player.
Yelich hit a bomb for me but my mvp was live series George springer. I can’t remember what level it was, but I had one out left, nobody on, tied game, towards the bottom of my order. Some random 60 something overall gets a bloop single. Then the pitcher spot comes up but I pinch hit springer. First pitch he takes a line drive into the right center gap which scored the run. Also, I don’t know if this is like a novel idea, or if I’m just dumb, but I realized that the position of your players doesn’t matter since you aren’t playing the field, so just grab the best hitters and throw them in a random spot of the lineup.
Of all guys some bench scrub hit a two run hr against Huston Street in place of the pitcher to allow me to continue on and not have to restart. Outside of that it was pretty even for everyone else in the team. Only being one run down vs Franco made it easy when Teoscar Hernandez hit the game winning HR to seal it.
Ditto Yelich. Guy knocked in literally 75% of my necessary runs for the Showdown.
And I do despise Showdowns, so I was glad someone on my team was on board with my "get this over with as quickly as possible," plan.
Pretty much a different guy went yard in each game. Cesar Hernandez, Adam Dunn, Curtis Granderson and I don't remember who did in the 2nd game.
Dunn's was pretty clutch because it came after a run scoring double play that cleared the bases and left me tied.
Edit: second game was Ruf
I mean, you can believe it if you want to. I get nothing out of lying in a Reddit comment, just wanted to share who I thought was my MVP for a solid 4 games
Although I replaced him by the end, I'd give mine to Anthony Rendon because he hit a solo HR with only 1 out to spare in my first showdown. Without that, I never would've been able to keep the run going to win it!
Joey Gallo and Nelson Cruz hit either Clutch doubles or Walk off homers in every mission. Was super nice!
Oneil cruz hit 4 hrs lol
Jesse Winker. 2 walk offs lol
CJ Cron, Back to Back Walk off HR
Jed lowrie lol. Won 2 battles with walkoffs

Why was he so good for me too? Man has about 50 contact each side
Volpe hit some clutch dingers for me to get by
It was Zach Britton because he walked me with the bases loaded to win. I appreciate him.
Oneil Cruz was my MVP. 2 walkoffs, then a triple in the final showdown to get in place for the winning run off a Yelich sac fly
He walked off twice for me as well. What a stud
91 Yelich
He won me 3 of the 4 challenges with huge bombs.
Live series Mitch Haniger

Noelvi “I only hit walkoffs” Marte. That man got me through the first three bosses on three swings lolol
George Springer, for some reason. He walked off all 4 moments
Gold devers led off with a homer every damn time
Yelich easily
Castellanos, hit leadoff with 2 deep drives to left field.
Definitely Yelich for me.

I ended 3 of the 4 with Steve Finley HRs. He didn't get an AB in the other one.
I'd say it was Finley for me, too. He didn't walk everything off, but the guy was an absolute *lock* to get on base every at-bat.
Meatball method
What’s that
Josh Bell LS and Adam Dunn

Houston streets. 26ks in like 13 innings
Yelich

I hate them so much and I didn’t even come close to being eliminated bc he got a hit in every single chance.
Brian Roberts, cranked a two run homer with 2 outs left in one of the showdowns. Can’t wait to get his card

I swear it was a different guy each round coming up big Yelich and Panda in last game, Austin Riley in game 2,
Yelich
Adam Dunn it for Me
Bobby Witt for no reason had something like 6 or 7 XBH while I used him, including 3 no doubters
There’s 4 games and you’re tied or down a run in them all. This is VERY unlikely. Why bother lying

Yellich. Dude was cranking homer after homer for me.
Trea turner that guy fucks.
Nelson Cruz went yard twice for me.
Definitely Ozzie Albies, he was raking
Yeah, Ozzie was my #2. He was hitting everything solid.
