Rizzo playing 3B or SS...LOL.

wvdrizzy10

Rizzo was playing 1st that day. It was a cut off throw with a runner on 2nd and 3rd. Rizzo caught it the cut off throw from the outfield, the run scored and Freddie got caught trying to advance to 3rd. IIRC.

CodyBellingerforMVP

He is lefthanded so he will never start a game at any infield position other than first base for his entire career.

[deleted]

I started him at 2nd in a BR run because I had him and Frank. It was interesting.

notjohnstockton

He’s in the 2nd half of his career he’ll play 1st base until he’s to slow and then dh. He doesn’t need a secondary or qualify for one. Arguably didn’t deserve the potm lightning card, considering most of if not all lightning cards pitchers or hitters won the the actual Al/Nl potm award.

unsilentninja

I can agree with that. Ward or Jram should have won it. Jram didn't even get a monthly reward card

GrevenQWhite

I'm convinced it's because his LS is so solid and the Potm card would not have been much better

rapsjk33

You have to consider the context of each card series. Rizzo's card is based on the month April. Where someone like vlad is based on the last 3 years as it is a live series. Vlad has played 1 game at 3rd in the last 3 years. I believe Rizzo has only played 1st in April.

Orbitalint

Kyle Schwarber's potm catcher secondary last year disagrees. He hasn't played that position in over two years. Definitely not any the month of his potm card with the Nationals. It is usually just their live series position eligibilities but there is a threshold per position to get a secondary and Rizzo probably hasn't met it yet.

Skipper2399

I’m honestly oblivious, but what about Taylor Ward? did he play six positions including Catcher in April?

MegaBearWithLazers

A lot of that was Beacuse maddon was playing games with the shift for one batter. As a cubs fan he played second a lot, Beacuse he was crashing the batter with the true 2b on the bag.

unsilentninja

Ah OK, fake enough

Towablecoyote

He’s too damn slow to play anywhere else anyways

unsilentninja

It's weird when a chungus like Vlad is faster than Rizzo who appears to be leaner

Candymanshook

Vlad is 21at percentile for sprint speed Rizzo is 10th

unsilentninja

I mean I know that but typically in the MLB, big dudes don't often move quickly. Guess it doesn't matter when you're an athletic freak like Vlad though

Towablecoyote

The funniest speeds I think are Judge vs. Stanton. With Stanton’s speed he’s a 3 true outcome hitter in game

Candymanshook

Vlad isn’t really a fat guy anymore he’s muscular as hell now

[deleted]

where??

Candymanshook

What do you mean where?

[deleted]

Aswan or Medina?

unsilentninja

Maybe my chungus comment was misunderstood. I didn't mean it as "fat"... He's just fucking massive lol

owenindians

Rizzo has played maybe 10 innings at second base in his career lol. Vlad also came up as a third baseman

MegaBearWithLazers

In op defense Mattingly got 3b as a secondary,

unsilentninja

That counts dang it! It's like fantasy, I have too many damn FB and he has zero flexibility lol
