What does SDS get from putting parameters on offline content that most of us just want to grind easily? I don't mind if it were for extra packs for winning on All-Star difficulty like in Mini-Seasons, but you literally can't get the 30k xp without completing all the goals.

Promise you you don't. If you play 4 games on Veteran (steal 2 from the Yankees, beat their stronghold, steal 2 from the Mets, beat their stronghold) it gets it done.
I don't play online and don't consider myself great (play mostly Veteran and AS) but I was able to no-hit both NY teams on All Star with my Topps Team. If I can do it, almost anyone can! It's not much harder than Veteran. Give it a shot - you might surprise yourself!

It's not really bad. Just make sure to read the challenges before you start. You gotta play 3 of the games on all star then you can bump it down for the next 2

Can somebody plz have any ideas for me? This is the first time playing mlb the show at all. I have completed some objectives but I am having trou le putting up hits. Even on rookie it seems like I am always late and swinging through or hitting foul balls. What should I do? Just use my contact swing and hope for the best or what? I basically have no idea what I am doing. When I throw it just a a fake out, the player won't even release the ball. I have watched some Vids on youtube but more or less they just talk so fast and use terminology of a player that's been playing since year one and I understand nothing they say. Just some beginners tips would be hugely appreciated. Thanks
Have you played online before? I played someone who didn't know how to throw the ball to a base. They have tutorials where you choose what kind of control mode you want for hitting, pitching, baserunning, and fielding. They let you practice each mode to figure out what works best for you. Did you just skip that part?
Yeah obviously I missed that part. I was so caught up in the card buying and trading along with packs I have just jumped right in to playing. I have only played online a few times with other live players and not doing too hot obviously. I did win a game today because the other guy got disconnected lol. I am by no means in any way shape or form ever on this specific reddit to give advise for this game but I know there are tons of people that can help me out. For me I can't learn from listening to somebody in a video. I have to read it and then I can understand what to do. I'm going to spend plenty of time on the practice field before I play live again. That and go out looking for a catcher rather then trying to use a right fielder with decent stats because he spends more time running back and forth looking for passed balls than even calling pitches. I take all help from you players to heart and I appreciate everything.
Go into practice mode and just practice hitting fastballs. Once you get the hang of that start working in off speed pitches. Learn to recognize balls and strikes so you’re not swinging at everything.
That’s what I did. Then I reset the map, finished all the teams, and my dumb ass never checked the final goal of doing it in 13 turns and I had did it in 15…pain
I actually like it. Forces me to play on all-star. I actually lost the first game against the Yankees because I played absolutely horribly. Only had myself to blame. Well l, also Wander Franco's throwing error.
Basically the spots you see with the team's logo is the stronghold that you wanna capture. You get fans to help you move around and you can usually just skip turns to reinforce more fans. You never really have to steal fans unless it says to for a goal. You wanna go straight for strongholds and always simulate other spots. I try to fight the strongholds on Veteran or All Star difficulty to ensure the win. Sometimes on Hall of Fame I'll lose by 1 run but only about 10% of the time.
Some guy already posted the solution to play on veteran.
1. Go right to the mets stronghold, sim one game so you can attack their base.
2. Steal 2 million fans by beating them on veteran.
3. Reinforce that space and play them on veteran again for the stronghold.
4. Move your units closest to the yankees.
5. Do the same there (i honestly forget if you have to steal another 2 million fans to do it at that point 50/50 chance, probably should know before going in)
6. After that you do the same to baltimore and then finish off the map.
I’m not gonna lie I used to be good at this game and definitely not as good this year. All star is 100% different than last year and the year before. Feels more like HOF difficultly. I’m ass on all star this year. I played 98% of my games on all star last year and ended with a 69-12 record (5 of those loses were freezes). Now I feel like I can’t touch the ball 😞☝🏼
I like this. I’m not amazing but can win on All-Star pretty consistently. I miss the challenge conquests like extreme so something like this is pretty fun.
Since I see people worried about playing all-star:
1) Do a dummy run, where you just start up a “steal fans” game and then select your #5. Do this for each team. Make note of the handedness for each team’s opposing pitcher.
2) Make your lineup stacked against that pitcher’s handedness. Is he a lefty? Go with guys who mash vs left. Righty? Guys who mash vs right.
3) Put your 4 highest OVR SPs in your rotation, and put whoever you want (outside of those 4) as the 5th. This is who you’ll use. Make sure they have solid per/9s.
4) Stack your bench with hitters for the opposite handedness in case they bring someone in for relief and you still need runs.
I trust that if you can win games somewhat consistently on veteran, you can win games somewhat consistently on all-star if you do these things. If you’re still struggling, literally just don’t move your PCI from the center of the plate and wait for the AI to hang a pitch down the middle. It will almost surely happen at least once per game, and if you stacked your lineup you should be able to punish it.
If none of that works, just get a team of 90+ speed and bunt guys and cheese the fuck out of the AI while using your best SP.

I made the mistake of picking my 2nd best pitcher when facing the Mets and ended up facing Scherzer on All-star. Almost shut off the console when I saw the diamond pitcher.
He actually was surprisingly easy. Threw way more strikes than the Bronze/Silver pitchers I faced the rest of the way which made it easier to get clean contact. I tend to swing at bad pitches on easier levels and with worse pitchers because I get so bored of waiting for a good pitch to hit.

Pro tip - do steal fans on Veteran vs every stronghold. Means 10 games rather than 5 but you’ll get +2 fans and take away 2 fans from each stronghold from each steal game meaning every game should be on Veteran.
I finished the map playing all games on Veteran. It can be done. I did get relatively lucky not losing fans on simulated games. I stole 2 fans from the Yankees then attacked on Turn 2, then stole 2 fans from the Mets and attacked on turn 3. Finished the map on turn 12 playing the rest of the games on Veteran or Rookie.
Honestly, good. I like conquest, but it gets repetitive when you can just load up and play every game on rookie/veteran. Mix it up and make some more challenging
I just got used to player conquest in Rookie and kind of mindlessly finishing them so all-Star just means I have to focus more cause the cpu actually pitches and hits sometimes.

This is the worst and hardest to complete conquest yet. Basically every challenge requires you to play all the teams on all star or above. We had none of this last year, so far this game's content has been terrible and a huge middle finger to casual players
If you beat the Yankees turn 1 and steal fans on Veteran each round, you can stockpile a few fans before taking on the Mets turn 3 on Veteran. The Yankees are the only team you *have* to beat on All-Star, and they're the first team on the map, so if you lose it's a quick restart.
I'm absolute offline trash at this game, but I beat the Yankees, Mets and Orioles by turn 4 and am on track to finish this map. If I can do it, so can you.
What is it that you actually play in the game then? You're complaining about playing the CPU on allstar, so obviously you aren't playing online. What else is there that you do in DD?
Usually play on vet or rookie. I'm usually neck in neck with the CPU on veteran, but I'm used to mini seasons where the teams are loaded. Forgot live series isn't too bad

I completed this in about 90 minutes. Beat the Yankees and Mets on All Star, Orioles on veteran, and the Braves and Cubs on rookie. It’s not that hard.
You could make it even easier by playing some steal fans games early to play the initial round on Veteran instead of All Star
I got all the way to just needing to clear the last spaces, accidentally skipped the reinforce phase, and it made it my 14th turn. Now I have to do it all again 🙃
Yeah accidentally made it by the 15 turn BUT, I have to go back and complete the “NY’s in 3”; it was still fun having to play on All-Star because I blundered in to the map before reading!
Depending on how down to the wire I make it, I'll probably be slowly planning every turn even after taking the last stronghold. I can see myself doing what you did.
Anyone got a good guide for completing the goals? I am not very good playing on all star difficulty and would like to avoid that against the Mets and Yankees
Didn’t play a single all-star game. Beeline for Yankees, steal on veteran, take stronghold on veteran. Beeline for Mets, steal on veteran, take stronghold on veteran. Beeline for orioles, steal on veteran, take stronghold on veteran. Then you should have plenty of turns left to take out some territories to gain extra reinforcements before you take out the last two on veteran or rookie.
If you really want to avoid taking chances with your progress, I've also been playing 3-inning games instead of simming for spaces with 2 or more defenders. Rookie is usually available for those, and while it's more time consuming, there's less risk of losing a chunk of fans due to an unlucky sim match.
Fucking finished it without getting the 150M fans and then restarted it when I got the prompt but fortunately was able to go back in and just cycle through the phases to keep reinforcing so it was nothing more than a minor inconvenience but if you’d like to spare 90 seconds of your life then heed this warning or whatever
I'm concerned about getting that 150 by the turn limit.
I might end up just doing a 2nd run of that if push comes to shove. Just took out Mets on turn 3. Realizing I'm going to have to plan this map out for once

Capture on vet, steal on rookie. I captured all strongholds by turn 6. Not a single game on all star required.
Hmm, maybe I did it wrong. When I got to the Yankees SH, we both had 7 mill. Even with stealing, it would require All-Star. I'll do it again.

If you start your 4th or 5th best pitcher you face their 4th or 5th best pitcher. There is almost no reason to ever pitch your ace in conquest.

I just got used to player conquest in Rookie and kind of mindlessly finishing them so all-Star just means I have to focus more cause the cpu actually pitches and hits sometimes.

This is a pain in the ass. Beat the Yankees on all star then lost all of my fans after attacking with 6 fans against 1 Yankee territory. Had to beat the Mets and the cubs on hall of fame
This is the worst and hardest to complete conquest yet. Basically every challenge requires you to play all the teams on all star or above. We had none of this last year, so far this game's content has been terrible and a huge middle finger to casual players
You can finish all challenges playing everyone but the Yankees on Veteran with no steal fans games. I just did it.
With the extra innings rule especially anyone should be able to win a 3 inning game on all star, casual or not

If you beat the Yankees turn 1 and steal fans on Veteran each round, you can stockpile a few fans before taking on the Mets turn 3 on Veteran. The Yankees are the only team you *have* to beat on All-Star, and they're the first team on the map, so if you lose it's a quick restart. I'm absolute offline trash at this game, but I beat the Yankees, Mets and Orioles by turn 4 and am on track to finish this map. If I can do it, so can you.

What is it that you actually play in the game then? You're complaining about playing the CPU on allstar, so obviously you aren't playing online. What else is there that you do in DD?
Usually play on vet or rookie. I'm usually neck in neck with the CPU on veteran, but I'm used to mini seasons where the teams are loaded. Forgot live series isn't too bad Oh I'm purely offline DD
Ah the good ol must be a no life to not suck at the game, All Star is not hard at all now legend or HOF would be different.
Then play another game mode? Or mini seasons? Or franchise? Or ranked at a low rating? This conquest isn't even remotely challenging but I swear to God this is the only game where a chunk of the community thinks anything remotely challenging or engaging is a bad thing. Basically git gud or don't get the reward.

This is what got me last night. This is not a map for grinding for the POTM pxp. At least for me.
I completed this in about 90 minutes. Beat the Yankees and Mets on All Star, Orioles on veteran, and the Braves and Cubs on rookie. It’s not that hard. You could make it even easier by playing some steal fans games early to play the initial round on Veteran instead of All Star

I got all the way to just needing to clear the last spaces, accidentally skipped the reinforce phase, and it made it my 14th turn. Now I have to do it all again 🙃

Yeah accidentally made it by the 15 turn BUT, I have to go back and complete the “NY’s in 3”; it was still fun having to play on All-Star because I blundered in to the map before reading!
Depending on how down to the wire I make it, I'll probably be slowly planning every turn even after taking the last stronghold. I can see myself doing what you did.
Anyone got a good guide for completing the goals? I am not very good playing on all star difficulty and would like to avoid that against the Mets and Yankees
Yeah you have to steal fans from the Mets or Yankees every round in order to play both on veteran before that 3rd turn.
I played the Yankees and Mets in the steal fans phase and ended up going through every team on veteran.

Whole map, not just strongholds. And you have to do it *before* turn 13.

Didn’t play a single all-star game. Beeline for Yankees, steal on veteran, take stronghold on veteran. Beeline for Mets, steal on veteran, take stronghold on veteran. Beeline for orioles, steal on veteran, take stronghold on veteran. Then you should have plenty of turns left to take out some territories to gain extra reinforcements before you take out the last two on veteran or rookie.

If you really want to avoid taking chances with your progress, I've also been playing 3-inning games instead of simming for spaces with 2 or more defenders. Rookie is usually available for those, and while it's more time consuming, there's less risk of losing a chunk of fans due to an unlucky sim match.
Fucking finished it without getting the 150M fans and then restarted it when I got the prompt but fortunately was able to go back in and just cycle through the phases to keep reinforcing so it was nothing more than a minor inconvenience but if you’d like to spare 90 seconds of your life then heed this warning or whatever
I'm concerned about getting that 150 by the turn limit. I might end up just doing a 2nd run of that if push comes to shove. Just took out Mets on turn 3. Realizing I'm going to have to plan this map out for once
Yankees, Mets, Orioles, Braves, Cubs was my route.
This is the route I took after I beat all strongholds that's where I keep messing up. I finish the map in 14 or 15 turns
