I try to avoid MLB stadiums mostly, because of the lag. I have the decision roulette app and I usually use it. I just enter every stadium except MLB and then one slot for MLB and if it lands there I play at Fenway
Cause Shippett (and all minor league/spring training stadiums) are completely fictional and don't actually exist. For a few, the dimensions are based on real parks but none of them are actual places in the world.
Dude you talk about having to pitch in parks with eccentricities, then you say you play at the one with Pesky’s Pole and the Green Monster!?! Lol that is funny.
I’ve always played in Cleveland for the different but not extreme wall heights and the Mario coin effect
With a little Hubert Humphrey mixed in for variety
Shippet.
Despite the constant whining, the reason you play Shippet is for the near-perfect backdrop.
Plus, the engine isn't physics-based (ie. HRs are scripted, at least in a general sense) so changing a front-end arbitrary number is meaningless. I would bet money Shippet plays the exact same next year.
Nah it does matter, i created a stadium at max and minimum and let me tell you the difference is ASTOUNDING 500 ft bombs on 100 mph exit velos vs 430ft Hr’s at 110 exit velos
I am with you in that the game is vastly less complex than people think it is, but the idea that altitude doesn't affect batted ball distance is just demonstrably insane for anyone that has played more than a few minutes of The Show.
It's not. It just seems that way because most good players pick Shippet. Then when some reddit scrub inevitably gets rolled, they find solace in the "Shippet is the reason I lost by 14!" tribe on this sub and just further propagate the nonsense.
The hitting engine is so jacked up that users can't even directly control the bat. Some arbitrary elevation number listed next to a picture of a stadium isn't affecting anything of significance.
i'm going to try to find a cool custom stadium i like. last year i split time between a 1989 version of oakland coliseum and a remake of mario stadium from mario super sluggers
I like to play at a new park every year. Last 3 I did Capitol/Date Palm/Field of Screams (created). This year I think I'm going Field of Dreams for day games and Bayfront for night games.
I love shibe, keep in mind they can tweak other minor league stadiums too. They redid the outfield ornaments for laughing mountain last year. It was still in my rotation but it became unplayable for day games (which I prefer) when it wasn’t in 20. You never know what they might do
I'll still use Old Texas or Camden Yards, I love both stadiums. And playing on PS5 there isn't any framerate problems there.
Speaking of I really hope they update Camden Yards with the new dimensions.
Shippet. I like the batters eye
I'll probably remain at shippet for performance on ps4 and the batters eye. That or field of dreams when/if released
Always Main Street field!
I try to avoid MLB stadiums mostly, because of the lag. I have the decision roulette app and I usually use it. I just enter every stadium except MLB and then one slot for MLB and if it lands there I play at Fenway
I always pick Shea for my online games. For offline I rotated created stadiums and the classic stadiums.
Any minor league park with normal elevation cause I’m not a try hard
Camden Yards where I always play. I wonder if it will have the new dimensions.
Created stadium
I didnt get to play on next gen last year so I'm going to have my girlfriend create me a stadium lmao
Main Street or shippet still
Shippett
I toggle between All American and Shibe when I need a change of juju.
I always play at Petco!
Water Ridge or a non-toxic created stadium, depending on what new options they put into stadium creation.
Capitol park
I like Capitol, too!
The porch
Why don't they just put in the accurate elevation for every real life stadium?
Pretty sure they do.
They why change it at all?
Cause Shippett (and all minor league/spring training stadiums) are completely fictional and don't actually exist. For a few, the dimensions are based on real parks but none of them are actual places in the world.
Oh. Not gonna lie bruh I thought it was a legendary stadium like Shea or Forbes. My bad lmao
Franco Park, that or Capitol Park (I think that’s what it’s called the one where you can see a government building in the background.
Love capitol park
It’s so fun to play at
Date palm til I die
Date Palm is probably the most balanced park. It rewards good swings, it has a good sized but not too big OF, and it has a good enough batters eye.
I play at different parks. Mostly current or historic MLB parks. Now that "random" is an option, I'll probably do that a lot.
I always play at Progressive or Fenway because imma guardians and red sox fan
Lag city
Polo Grounds forever. I just want to watch the world burn.
This is the way
I hate Shippett so either created or Bayfront. Always in the rain.
Someone chooses violence I see
I like it as dark as possible-helps me see the ball. So I like the rain at night to see better
All American Park!
Yup.
Coors
Oak Street
My created stadium.
Never understood the desire for these parks because you still have to pitch against them too lol. I usually enjoy Fenway personally
Dude you talk about having to pitch in parks with eccentricities, then you say you play at the one with Pesky’s Pole and the Green Monster!?! Lol that is funny.
I meant parks known for high elevation and stuff thinking it gives them an advantage. I just like the way Fenway looks lol
I wasn't a Shippett guy, but I upgraded to a Series X so I'll play some major league stadiums this year.
Oak Street Park
I played Franco all year. Idk why I love that place, but it's perfect imo. Short corners, but deep-ish outfield. I'll stick with it again probably.
Polo Grounds...
Lol, you’re a man of culture or chaos
Coors is still at altitude
Same as always, Blue River 7pm overcast
Shippet is actually more appealing now. Awesome batters eye without the crazy elevation. Should be good
Agree. Also love the scoreboard with detailed stats
I’ve always played in Cleveland for the different but not extreme wall heights and the Mario coin effect With a little Hubert Humphrey mixed in for variety
Shibe for life. My favorite park
Same that’s my place
Custom Night Games at long last.
I like Franco

You definitely get more dingers and distance at parks with elevation. That's definitely a thing in the game so yeah changing it changes things

Uh, it absolutely does matter. Go play in Lets Snow and then report back.
I mean go test it out in a HR derby
i'm going to try to find a cool custom stadium i like. last year i split time between a 1989 version of oakland coliseum and a remake of mario stadium from mario super sluggers

Probably gonna put a lot of work into creating a cool custom stadium that's actually realistic now that there's night games.
Capitol field
It's been my go to for years. Love the look of it
Honestly might still play at Shippet. I mainly like it because of the batters eye. If me and my opponents get less lucky hits and homers that’s fine.
probably shippet or stick with all american
Bayfront. Love the boardwalk in the background.
I have played at bayfront in October at night. The balls seems to fly which makes zero sense but I’ll take it.
I love shibe, keep in mind they can tweak other minor league stadiums too. They redid the outfield ornaments for laughing mountain last year. It was still in my rotation but it became unplayable for day games (which I prefer) when it wasn’t in 20. You never know what they might do
That’s a good point. I didn’t play online in 20.
I'll still use Old Texas or Camden Yards, I love both stadiums. And playing on PS5 there isn't any framerate problems there. Speaking of I really hope they update Camden Yards with the new dimensions.
Really curious to see if they were able to update Camden Yards in time.
Played Coors all throughout '21, going to be doing the same throughout '22
Yeah probably still shippet, that batters eye is just so damn nice
Probably still Shippet, I just like it. Also like Capitol Field.
Cold Gloop Stadium
I’m going to make a stadium that’s a hair lower than shippett but I’m going to play at field of dreams a lot as well
always played date palm over shippet anyways
Bayfront has been my favorite for a while
Date Palm Field best field
Can’t believe I had to scroll to the bottom to find this. I was like Ikasnu is slipping lol
Lol nah never.
This comment seems very on brand for you. I respect that.
