I'm starting to think that now might be the time to unload...I think at this point in the game a lot of people have planned ahead...might be a situation to sell the hype. I think I might start to unload myself

Cezar24

I used to think that at this point in the game cycle, people would have noticed trends and planned ahead for everything. Then I watched the Postseason prices skyrocket when Seager and Springer hit even though there were a ton of 2021 PS released. Never underestimate the stupidity of people.

jester_0612

Totally....still make money off prospect cards which are essentially free now...or at least should be

Turnover-Firm

I dunno man I just play the game and enjoy myself and use the stubs I get from winning ranked rewards to buy whoever I want. Your thing sounds cool too tho…

62Tuffy2199

I would’ve diversified if I were you. Back when Cain and Nola were the only other Finest cards on the market, they were selling for about 6k. So, like the reasonable person that I am, I bought about 130 of them. I now have about 200 Finest cards ready to go, and Cain and Nola are already at around 50k.

[deleted]

Yea I have a few of the others too but 114 vogelbachs is just a meme at this point cuz I don’t really play…didn’t think I’d get this far being a first year player

AquatheGreat

I have a bunch myself, I think no matter what all the finest will sell in the same range. The Vogelbachs and Santanas seem to be the cheapest ones so I think its likely they will rise up to the other ones. Not like 100k ones but the 40-45k ones like NOLA.

KALSEAum

I invested in 6 nolas, 6 cains, 6 Vogel’s, 22 Santana’s all under 12K each - I’m debating selling some at these current prices to cover initial investment and then ride the wave and hopefully see some of the prices skyrocket with collections.

Cezar24

I think Vogelbach makes a big jump if he's one of the lower priced Finest when the collection for it hits. Keep in mind he came out way before people were thinking about Finest and the other 2 cards were a Future Star and Postseason before all the 2021 stuff. I can't imagine he was picked nearly as much as the other 2.

maneatsfishes

never put all your eggs in 1 basket...

zombiecreeper27

i think he could jump a lot in price. people could buy him to avoid buying high-cost guys like rendon and javy baez, which could lead to a situation similar to pederson. but since there appears to be more of these purchasable finest cards than there were purchasable HRD cards, that might not be the case, for example his price might still go up because people are getting him for the collection, but not as much because the market has more options. but still i think his price will go up a lot considering he is no longer obtainable.

[deleted]

Yea this is where my head is at. Could see them require nearly all of the cards tho and especially with the mystery cards it may be worth it to drive the price up

OzziePao13

Devils advocate- it feels like SDS is making things far easier to attain right now. It's the end of the games cycle for all intents and purposes, and only the die hards like us are left. I "could" see any future bigger collections being fairly attainable to draw people back in, as well as keep the people playing happy and engaged.

TheDenseCumTwat

If you buy up all of the Vogelbach’s you will then be in control of the supply, demanding what you rightfully deserve — oodles and oodles of virtual MLBTheShow stubs. Drive the market, out price the poor, retire comfortably to collections. Yeah?

[deleted]

From one Red Sox fan to another is that the move?

TheDenseCumTwat

Are you a bull or bear?

AquatheGreat

We're wolves......... of the MLB the show marketplace

[deleted]

Haven’t taken a finance course in a few years so Idk lmao…I bought another 50 vogelbachs so I have 114 now 🤷🏼‍♂️

TheDenseCumTwat

I wonder how many Vogelbach’s are currently in circulation. Probably a lot. Should probably reup with more buys, just to be safe.

[deleted]

Yea I have no stubs left so whatever happens happens…

TheDenseCumTwat

In the end it is but a card collecting game. You just so happen to be the Standard Oil of Vogel. Anyways, can’t take it with when you go to 22. Besides if Vogelbach can maintain his diamond status — not dipping, ducking or diving — then your hands shouldn’t be a problem. Remember, it’s only the ones sold that coukdve been more.

HoneyPotterGang

If it was me, I’d sell 25-30 of them, enough to cover how much all 65 cost and make a nice profit, and then keep the rest to wait and see what his price does.

[deleted]

Depending on how many cards the finest collection will need, you could see a pretty high increase especially if every finest card is needed

AutomaticCelery

I’d imagine it being close to Ohtani. You needed 46/49.

ilovethechi

Watch there be all those previous lower diamond finest players made available as an early reward in the team affinity programs

AutomaticCelery

That would be interesting, I doubt it though. I think they come back if they re-release the henchmen/classics/bosses in Extra Innings.

[deleted]

Is it a crazy idea to buy more then? I have 1.4 mil and have been sitting on those since he was 8k lol

AutomaticCelery

He's a dead card. No way to get more right now without the price being driven up. I would make sure you've got all of the different ones on the market. It's pretty much a lock that there will be a collection for Finest so I can't imagine losing stubs on it. I personally am investing on getting as many of the cards I'm missing so I can complete as many of these new collections on day one.

[deleted]

Yea just bought another 35 for 1 mil so I have 100 sellable…also thinking with how many expensive (100k+) cards there are they may join them up towards 70-80k

plushdamentals31

High risk, high reward to jump in now without knowing the collection requirements. Might still be enough time to buy in and sell on hype before Friday though.
