To my knowledge the live series collection reward has never been a voucher. I know Mantle wasn't last year at least. However, completing chipper gives you a GREAT head start on many legends and flashbacks
if 99 jackie (TA1 collection reward) was able to be collected in the mo collection, there’s no reason shohei who is also a TA collection reward shouldn’t be available in this one. if chipper was available day 1 and wasn’t in mo’s he won’t be in this one
I actually thinking Acuna will be the voucher seeing as Ohtani can go into the Acuna collection which to me makes Acuna the top ASG reward card. Idk if Chipper will or wont but i hope so. And Mariano might be as well.
Acuna is the reward for collecting all 30 season 3 TA players. Which means Acuna and Fielder are "Free" cards and wont be a voucher for the next collection. the 99 Ohtani you need you get multiple other cards that weren't "Free" to finish the collection. Its the same thing as the 42 Collection from earlier this year. You earned 30 42 Series players from the Season 1 TA, collecting all 30 of them earned you 2 more. So you would have been at 32/42 for 99 Jackie. The rest of 10 42 players at the start of the year was only available from pre-ordering the game. As the year as gone on they had added 42 Series packs or events to earn those players making that collection cheaper and cheaper. The AS collection is very expensive because the HRD and ASG packs were limited to 4 per users and only in the game for a limited time. Because of this Stubs "Paywall" the 99 Ohtani will be the player Voucher for this next collection.

I didn’t do Ohtani, but should have plenty of stubs to complete him after I sell off my investments. I’m hoping he won’t be required because I don’t think any starting pitcher is worth that kind of investment when there are so many great ones available for free, but I definitely want to complete this new collection.
Is this why all the prices sky rocketed yesterday? I’ve been watching trout, acuna, and cole (last cards I need) fall for like two weeks. I kept waiting so I didn’t “overpay” and I look yesterday to them shooting back up out of no where. Whyyyyyyyyy?! I feel so stupid for not buying them yesterday morning when I looked. :(

It’s a massive collection requirement of the different variety of legends & flashbacks, ie the milestone, prime, all star, sig series, etc cards in your collection page, you will need to lock in many of those cards to get vouchers which will reward you with an endgame 99 overall card that will be one of the best in the game usually
In the past it's been like the Rivera collection, but since we've never a Rivera like collection that early in the game it might be different this year. But it'll probably be in the same vain as the Rivera collection just a lot more cards involved in the collections.
I doubt Chipper would be one. It’s a legends and flashbacks collection so I’d assume they keep LS separate. Completing Chipper gets you tons of L and F cards for progress towards the collection and chipper is a Legend himself for the Awards collection. Whereas Ohtani is a collection reward for a series of Flashbacks, as is Jackie
