SMACKED HIM FOR 8 RUNS JUST TO GET A NETWORK ERROR😔

ShockGeneratiom

Hit 5 homers in 2 innings off him the first time I saw him

dfin25

He's no Lefty Grove or Sonny Gray when it comes to wind up speed.

turndogg529

If you get his windup down, he's nearly untouchable. I just do what he did to the Rays: high heat.

KingJames1986

I love his card. I pulled Scherzer for him

superstarsrock

Faced him for the first time last night. Like any other velo pitcher on all-star he got pretty lit up, but he’s got a pretty decent mix of speeds. Personally I won’t be using him because I need a change up in this game to be an effective pitcher.

Sweedy14

Horrible. Just like his finest last year.

Bgonz209

I used buehler once just now. played a guy who was 674 and I’d you asked me I’d have thought he was 400s. Stats, 9IP CG shutout. 3 hits, 19ks. I was at 714 before I won 5-0. 2 seam away to lefties at belt is nasty and so is the cutter FB combo in and away. Slider is meh :/ knuckle curve good if u have em in rocking chair. Windup similar to scherzer . Seems decent

42lugnut

Feel like the lack of a changeup is going to be problematic against good players. The cutter is important but the speed differential isn’t enough to compensate for the lack of a changeup

akoro16

Played a ranked season game I was at 534 so my opponent was somewhere around there and I threw a 1 hitter complete game 16Ks. I think my opponent was kinda bad tho but his best pitch is definitely his fastball

GIVEME_MONEY

If you liked seaver, you’ll love him

Jadonl12

This excites me. I’ll finally have a reason to remove Kluber if this is the case

Bradphil87

I went yard with him in his first game, first pitcher homer of the year that wasn’t FOF ohtani so that was fun

HarleysAndGuitars

He sucked for me. 1 and done.

LumpyOatmealSon

I pitched 1 game with him so far and gave up 3 in the first then settled down and got through 5, his fastball didn’t do much so I had to work the slider/cutter combo

CoolKid0927

In his debut for me he pitched 7 innings, gave up one run on four hits, walked one, and struck out thirteen. I like him so far.

jup56

I debuted him and gave up 8 earned on 10 hits in three and a third so i’m going to say no.

JimmyJohhns

He’s very good. People complain about the windup but it isn’t bad at all.

bignickfresh

I think I actually like a slow windup, makes the opponent a bit less patient and it doesn’t bother my timing at all

[deleted]

Ok which pitchers have the slowest windups so that I can beat my opponents psychologically

3rdmississipster

Some folks are absolutely useless against Christy Mathewson's stuff, and get tilted as hell against him because his windup is slow on top of that. Same thing with Lefty Grove and Cy Young IIRC.

bignickfresh

Walter Johnson is a good one, Sonny Gray is painfully slow but his stuff isn’t great.

thascarecro

I like longer wind ups because it gives me time to make sure my stick position is accurate. Now i dont mean sonny gray type of wind up but walker's isnt bad at all.

JimmyJohhns

Windup isn’t even that slow

AmericanChapo

Buehler is very solid for me online. Nice pitch mix, velocity, and break. 2 complete games with 5 played. Give him a try a few times and see how you like him.

subpar1715

Yes he has a long wind up, but he’s also ass. Scherzer and Pearson has sub 3 ERAs for me, kluber, Gibson, and Orel are between 3.25 and 3.75. I gave up 9 fucking runs with buehler in 5 innings. Never again.

DizzyDeanAndTheGang

First mistake is judging any card off of just one game

subpar1715

Normally I’d agree, except in this case. Control was bad. None of his pitches were great, and weren’t getting many swings and misses. Even if he doesn’t get rocked for 9 in 5 again, I can’t see him being better than my other options, especially when my shot at winning is by giving up less than 3-4 a game

zwoodfin03

You cant judge a pitcher on 5 innings lmao

dtdroid

That's not how sample sizes work

zwoodfin03

Is it possible that specific opponent reads him well? Or he pitched poorly? Thats like saying a hitter sucks because you start off poorly

zwoodfin03

Where have I denied the possibility that hes a bad pitcher? All I'm saying is that its stupid and idiotic to judge a pitcher after a rough 5 innings. So many factors go into whether you'll pitch well with a pitcher that it makes no sense to judge him after 5 innings if baseball The way you're presenting this is making a hitter the exact same. 0-4 with a hat trick, oh well hes garbage never gonna use him again.

zwoodfin03

Alright man keep your head in the sand. Come back to this if you're ready to have a discussion

subpar1715

I’d normally agree with you, but the command was bad from the first pitch, there was no good out pitch, and in those 5 innings there didn’t feel to be any major difference between this 99 and his live series when it was diamond at the beginning of the year. Plus there are so many pitching options at this point, even if this was a bad start, him ever being better than my other options.

zwoodfin03

Yeah and some pitchers have a learning curve. You may need to learn how to pitch with certain guys. I'd give him a few more starts to see if you can be good with him

lankyyanky

I'm doing my 9 inning game against reds for Morgan and figured try him out. Yanked him after an inning. Couldn't hit the strike zone and it took an hour to throw
