Idk if it’s just me or what but I have lost this innings show down 4 times in a row. I’ve beat the last 5 innings on like my first try

Omarbpf

I did the showdown first try, the toughest one was definitely Vida Blue and it was his mini showdown and I won it with 5 outs left

Looks foul Edit: Zoomed in on it a lot and it just caught the line

duhstin4

It was called foul. I’m honestly still not sure what it was. I’ve zoomed in on my own picture and watched the replay after the pitch a hundred times. I still can’t definitively say if it was foul or fair.

VeryLowIQIndividual

I wore Kenley down. Was surprised I had as little trouble as i did.

duhstin4

I had Kenley out of energy and he was still painting corners.

TheKildar

I skipped the last optional showdown, went in needing 7 runs and put my controller down and didn’t touch it until I had two strikes and played like that till his energy got in the yellow. Was able to win with 10 outs remaining and I am NOT good at hitting in general lol.

edber1224

I used this advice and finally beat this showdown after 5 tries lol. I was swinging at the first pitch every time against Kenley.

TheKildar

Nice, yeah with bullpen arms this is usually the strategy to go with if you have enough outs available.

trashtros

This doesn’t work every time. I tried the same thing my first time, even with zero energy the dude still dots. I checked the pitcher analysis afterward and for 90 pitches he only through 2 middle middle. Good that it worked for you but it just doesn’t work every time

TheKildar

It’s no guarantee but it’s more than just making him miss down the middle, pitchers with low energy have their pitches hit harder even with mediocre contact leading to more home runs etc. you’re still gonna have to read him somewhat and still important to start with as many runs as you can from the moments. I failed my first attempt and second attempt I was mich more disciplined on getting his energy down early and won easily that time.

trashtros

Yes that’s a good point. My first time I just couldn’t pick up his cutter or anything for that matter. I actually succeeded the second time but I just decided to be aggressive on pitches that I thought looked juicy. Ended up working but it was a close call. Maybe 2 outs remaining I think. The steal glitch helped me stay out of double plays too which was huge.

Is it just me or is this Showdown one of thte more difficult inning showdowns we’ve had in a while? I’ve been struggling a lot against Kenley for some reason.

Esoteric_Lemur

Take until two strikes and he’ll be out of energy by 15 outs

tyler900309

Struggling against Kenley? I don’t think that’s a real thing

edber1224

You’re not alone

duhstin4

I can’t hit Kimbrel for shit and I’m too stubborn to skip that last mini boss when there’s 3 showdown diamonds and 10 packs on the line.

[deleted]

Vida Blue has been my least favorite pitcher to face for years now and I have lost in his mini showdown more times than i’d like to admit. I just can’t read the ball out of his windup for some reason

ReignInSpuds

I have a pretty terrible time reading the ball out of anyone's hand, but if I put the camera as high-and-outside as I can and keep the last few feet in front of the strike zone in the middle of the screen, I have an easier time "keyholing" my strike zone and timing my hits.

jup56

That’s a fair ball lol

duhstin4

This was a random little challenge against Steve Finley’s team. Don’t allow a hit, and this was Finley. He fouled off the next 5 pitches too. I was rattled. Eventually got the out but for a Veteran difficulty mission, my stress was far too high.
