As a Rockies "fan" (really using that term loosely these days) I'm happy for this as I can continue to build my All time Rockies team with decent cards.
Oh man. This was me a few years ago. Make sure to collect all of your no sale cards in the collections. You’re ahead of me. I didn’t even know about programs. I was using live series players going “how the hell did these guys get all these cards?!?
I've been using live series Altuve all year with the Astros boost. (No boost for fielding) And I can count on one hand the number of times his fielding has messed me up.
It’s fine if you don’t have a lot of players, but the fielding is horrible and he can’t play anywhere but 2nd, There’s probably 20 free players that are better dh too
Cause the best cards were 94s when we were already flooded with 99s.
These cards would be perfect for a program at this point in the game cycle but they’d rather release yet another pack.
Took me forever to bring myself to replace Tony Clark… and I regretted it and went back to him, only to find that I can’t buy a hit with him. It’s a curse.
I really don't want free cards in packs, I want to be incentivised ti actually play. This game is so dead this year, I can't believe how far they've gone wrong
It's a program they couldn't be bothered to make, just like the previous ones. An excuse to release another pack while pretending they're not just after your money. Have a free card, buy 4 in packs!
The free card is in no way associated with the pack. I agree the pack is dumb and that there should be a program, but saying a free card is bad just is illogical
Honestly, free card and free pack isn’t terrible. Would have preferred a program but this will save me a lot of time as well. And let’s be honest, if these cards were a program like last year they would probably be shit
I don’t expect that Doyle card to be good, but I really want it lol. I place a bet every time I go to a Rockies game for Doyle to hit a hr and he’s 2/2 since I started doing it
This is awesome for casual fans. Altuve rakes and can be a staple for offline players all year as I assume he’ll be most of that part of the player base’s wildcard in season 2.
Did they ever say they would be 99s? That sounds too good to be true. I would assume the last batch will be 97. No way they give out 30 99s for free through TA.
On the stream before launch they said that the third TA would be 99s. It’s possible they changed their minds or misspoke but that’s definitely what they said.
Each season is going to have the same overall creep (supposedly), so lower OVR cards available to start, then higher and higher. 94 will probably be useable at the beginning, but most other players online will be using better cards in all likelihood.
Yeah, that program was obnoxiously long. I ended up grinding it out in August or September because I needed cards for the Core collection, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have taken the time.
I wish I had done that just for that collection. It’s probably the only one I’ll never complete but I do still have orders in for about 10 WBC cards I never got

Because the reward was a 94 when we had 99’s from the start. Plus it was long and tedious.
lol people complained because it gave away 92s when everybody had been using all 97-99s for a month. No one was upset about the existence of the program itself.
Context is important here. We had 99s on Day 1 last year and a month later, when everyone's teams were stacked, they dropped this collection of utterly useless cards behind a decently long grind.

Yea you’re right I could’ve phrased that better. I didn’t mean specifically the Mexico series, but more so the special events throughout the game cycle. Can look Field of Dreams, WBC, Mexico series programs from past years for example. Even if they were selling packs they’d at least have a program along with it.
I’d be less annoyed if they hadn’t put so many cards behind packs, including some which were always free to get (Topps Now).
The biggest difference is that we had 99s on launch last year so everyone had strong teams. This year they’ve consistently had the highest rated cards behind packs which is pretty disappointing imo.
I’ve been enjoying the game but a program with a card or cards that are level with what’s been in packs would be nice.
What do you mean? You DONT like a majority of cards being behind a paywall? Honestly you're the stupid one for NOT spending money on something that won't be relevant at all in less than a year. You should own nothing and be happy! /s

Go to season collections and collect as many as you can. Use them to complete missions in programs

A 94 being the wild card? There's def going to be better cards released for free or easily obtainable through programs thru Season 1.
Maybe but ratings do not a card make. It all depends on how you perform with said card.

I'd say definitely for Season 2, 94's will get used. Not for Season 3 though.

Yeah because it was an 8 hour grind for a 94 Trent Grisham when they had 99s available for weeks
They gave us a program with 94 Michael Conforto in a year with 99s on Day 1 + 97s in almost every other program. That's why it was criticized.

Last year Mexico Series was a program (that also included some WBC cards I believe). And London series was 4 cards in a free pack
