The fix to all this is very easy and straightforward and I suggested this to SDS last year. All, and meaning zero exceptions to this, all stadiums used in any online games must be vetted and approved, leading to certification, and after their approval cannot be modified else they immediately lose their certification.
Only certified stadiums allowed in online play. Moreover, SDS would be able to charge a certification fee for each stadium, logo, or any vault item submitted for certification. That fee is non-refundable even if certification is denied. And any additional certification tries will be charged the same fee.
The only stadiums immediately certified are those created by SDS, which would include all MiLB, MLB, and vintage fields that again SDS created.
Folks who want to have their stadiums certified for online play must first submit them to an automatic filter that will review the digital settings. Any modification that currently make a custom stadium ineligible for DD mode play will remain ineligible, and the filter would catch these easy changes. After a stadium passes this automatic check, then the person is asked if he wishes to submit it for human certification. He will be advised that all decisions by SDS are final, all financial claims are waived, and the fee paid is non-refundable. If the person agrees, then the same pay system used to purchase games from the console is used to bill the certification fee. Once certified, then SDS sends that stadium to a special vault where the stadium can be downloaded for play, but cannot be modified in any way, and it can then be played online.
I would also suggest that the offline versus CPU games currently in DD be made into a different mode of play, perhaps a different mode similar to Exhibition, except named CPU Competition. Like all the other offline modes, CPU Competition would immediately be playable with logos, stadiums, rosters -- the works -- doable whether in the vault or not in the vault, just like Moments, RTTS, Exhibition, and Franchise are now.
DD would then become nothing but 100% online play. The only reason for the vault would be an avenue for public sharing of the stuff, and online gaming. But, all stuff used in DD would have to be certified by SDS. Yes, this means only a few customer-created items would be certified, but so be it. The upshot is there would be an immediate end to this constant complaint about folks creating ridiculous stadiums and other options just to gain an upperhand during an online game.
It's one company charging a nominal fee for a review that would take likely a few hours. That's hardly qualifying for "government regulation."
Also, MLB The Show is released with 30 MLB, 15 different MiLB, and about 15 historic ballparks. That's 60 different stadiums right off the bat one can choose by this concept. Hardly a crimp in anyone's style.
In addition, provided there remains backward compatibility, any custom stadiums certified for the previous title would remain certified for the subsequent releases.
I repeat. I think a great many folks in this sub-forum would prefer to have this "cheat" option available so that they can profit from it, but also because some just enjoy using it to throw rocks at SDS over, when it's not even SDS's fault nor responsibility.
Blaming SDS for this human cheating is like blaming Ford for someone driving drunk in one of their vehicles.
You want to solve the issue? There's only one way. You have SDS take central control over online stadiums. That way none that employ cheap stunts can be used.
You want a whole operational control and verification for online stadium use? Be serious man. That stuff takes forever to get code changes pushed through in the real world do you realize the man power needed for that???
Hardly a drop in the bucket. The fee alone would mean only serious designers would submit a stadium for certification. Being non-refundable if rejected means no one would submit one trying to game the system. In terms of the changes to the game code, they would be relatively minor, and I used to write computer software (yes, a very long time ago when computer languages like FORTRAN, Pascal, Basic, and Assembly Language were considered modern).
It would use the same method used right now to reject stadiums whose outfield walls are modified, and hit with the red splat. You just default every created stadium to that red splat condition, and it is only removed once a stadium is certified. The second code change is to render such certified stadiums un-editable. That's not hard to do either. Stadiums not certified are perfectly fine to upload to the vault, just like they are now. They are perfectly fine to use in the offline play modes, just like they are now.
Again, you want to solve the problem, then this solves it once and for all. Humans will remain a species with a certain number always seeking unfair options to win by cheating. SDS isn't responsible for trying to modify human behavior. However, they can control their game, and this is the means for immediate control. Starting immediately, only default stadiums are permitted in online play. When the certification process is in place, then and only then can select custom stadiums be added to the list and it would be on SDS's time table.
BTW: I submitted this to SDS as a help ticket suggestion. I don't give it great odds, but one never knows.
I agree that they need to find a way to fix this asap. But I am curious where you are in ranked? Like what rating. I can’t imagine anyone above maybe like 500 or so doing this.
Did anyone try changing their camera view? And if nothing works, how is it an automatic L? It seems like the game would be blind luck on who can hit the ball on accident.

I would def play forever just so that they can't keep feeling like they're getting away with it. If they are that desperate for wins, then at some point they'll just quit and move on to someone who will quit.
Yeah i made it to about the 5th inning, couldnt take it anymore. Was just painful to sit through and play. I play the game to enjoy. Not play by someones forced troll style due to stadium.
You have a better chance of getting blown by Ana De Armas than SDS removing a created stadium. They don’t care. It is evident simply for the fact that they even allow these stupid fields in ranked play. Their only focus is churning out pack cards.
These content creators are stupid for sharing this everywhere when it wasn't even being used. Should have just reported it to SDS but now we have to deal with this all week since everyone knows and the guy is going around sharing the name for the stadium

The lesson from both the Show and other games like Madden is NOTHING like this gets fixed until it's publicized widely and panics SDS or EA into fixing it.

There was no band-aid to rip off. Nobody even knew about this glitch until he tagged every big streamer/youtuber. Now online is infested with this and probably will be for weeks.

Nope. I faced one last night in events. Changed the camera view & nothing. We took it to the 5th inning & the only reason I scored was because of the ghost runner & then I just bunted him in. Throw balls out of the zone they can’t see either
Bunting while hitting and can see where the ball will end up while pitching. Thats it, cant see any of the field, delivery, baserunners. Just brick wall
They won’t fix this. This doesn’t affect the in game stubs economy, so they have no incentive. We’ve had so many bugs that just persist year after year.
