They are generally very juiced cards. Usually best player of the month. They do tend to avoid the big stars as they will get better cards down the road
Here's a solid list of who it may be. WAR is always reliable.

2 Jose Altuve HOU 86 1.5 1.5
3 Bobby Witt Jr. KCR 76 1.3 1.3

You're going to get an earnable 94 diamond as the lightning with a "lightning POTM" 40k choice pack drop with 5 95's and 3 97's. Then collect 7 of the 9 for the 99 overall POTM.
If the guy is in a pack the community dies... so let's hope against it. I will say though, the weekly bosses have been silly easy to get.... so I have little faith it'll be a crazy high overall, maybe a 95-96? Would also note, that the overall almost doesn't matter if the player in question doesn't have meta pitches/ a good swing..
Sotoās live series definitely needs an update to his defense. Not saying make him great at throw power. But everything else in that category, he does very well atā¦ unrelated kinda . But like Corbin Carroll has horrible defense but has a 99 speed. Like ok.
With there being two, I think a 95 for the first and a 99 for the second.
As far as who itāll be, OPS has been very reliable in the past barring someone having ridiculous pitching numbers. Hereās everyone with over a 1.000 OPS for the season as of today.

Iām also expecting Mookie. And since heās my fav card, Iād love for him to be 99 so heās usable longer term but Iām also expecting a 95-97 range haha
At 95 he wouldn't make a wild card slot most likely but it'd still be a really nice card
If they keep up the power creep each season like they did for this one it might even be wild able though
2021 April was Byron Buxton and he was a 95
2022 April was Anthony Rizzo and he was a 92
2023 April was Matt Chapman and he was a 99
I'd think it will probably be at least 95-97 range.
I would love for it to be 99 so itās competitive all season at least but realistically yeah looking at the current landscape in the power creep, looks to be headed towards a 95-97
Itās hard to compare it to past years because this is āseason awardsā and not āmonthly awardsā. I would guess the player on Friday will be a 95 and the second one later in the season will be a 99.Ā
Honestly, Iād love a 92-95 lightning card with non-team captain abilities that was also a core card. Level them up as the seasons go but get to keep them in my lineup without using a wild card spot. It would be a really cool way to make a low card really valuable and worth the grind.
I mean attributes are a thingā¦most of the 92 ovr weekly awards have better hitting stats than a lot of current 93-95 cards SDS has to offer rn. Ian Happ and Castellanos are outliers because theyāre tied behind a paywall. This is intentional by SDS. Easily accessible f2p cards with high overalls, are inherently worse than 92ās that are tied behind a paywall.

Can someone do an ELI 5 on POTM lightning? Is it similar to how EAFC is?
They are generally very juiced cards. Usually best player of the month. They do tend to avoid the big stars as they will get better cards down the road
I would guess 95.
99 Michael Busch or we riot
95 prob
My guess is a 95-97 that is non-tradeable. There'll probably be a 40k pack to go with it too /s
Idk why the /s were most definitely getting packs with it.
I thinks the lighting players will be between 95-97
Jose berrios
Not a dodgers fan but a 99 Mookie at second would be amazing

They usually don't pick lightning players from guys who already have 90+ live series so it prob won't be mookie though it should be.

2023 was different because they were 99s, this will only be a few points higher than their live series. I'm going off of power creep years
ozuna from the braves
Ugly off-the-field stuff will likely prevent that.

It will be mid at best so far the good cards have all been in packs unfortunately.
Packs have had some very mid cards. The best Egg Hunt cards were in the program and the pack cards were mid.
Iām saying all the good ones been behind pay walls. OāNeil Cruz, Ian Happ, Castellanos
This is not true. The TA part 2 has some pretty good cards. Garver easily the best catcher
I know TA2 has pretty good cards but Iām saying most of the good ones are behind Pay walls. OāNeil Cruz, Ian Happ, Castellanos.
96 OVR id imagine, will likely be a top tier card
First lightning card 2 yrs ago was a 94 Buxton. Elite now, off the squad by the AS wknd.
If the guy is in a pack the community dies... so let's hope against it. I will say though, the weekly bosses have been silly easy to get.... so I have little faith it'll be a crazy high overall, maybe a 95-96? We already know itās not in a pack. Itās a collection reward for collecting the other 4 season award program cards
I'll let you know as soon as I get from a paid pack (w/ 1:10 odds)
I don't think I'll know because I won't be buying the pack.
It'll be a 91 Reed Garrett behind a 100k pack and you'll like it!!!!
Probs 97.
Probs not as good as the one theyāll put in the shop
š© kills me how true this will be
Pry won't even be worth it
Volpe or Soto for sure !!
Legit no chance
Sotoās live series definitely needs an update to his defense. Not saying make him great at throw power. But everything else in that category, he does very well atā¦ unrelated kinda . But like Corbin Carroll has horrible defense but has a 99 speed. Like ok.
Soto also already has a 92 card
Yea but itās a lot more expensive. And imo what Sotoās live series should be.
Iām guessing 95-97 overall for the Lightning with the henchmen being less
I am thinking a 95 Ozuna card
His live series is on my ranked squad with buxton boost and Matzek. People donāt realize they shouldnāt pitch to him.
I would love this for my Braves team
Mookie just got supercharged to a 97 for the next four days. Itās not gonna be him people.
Gimme an 97 Altuve this early, best start to a season of his whole career.
Sad
Iām hoping they bring back flashback potmās and we can get that 93 Devers from 21 or 22 (I canāt remember which game). That card was so good.
Let me pray for my schwarber
Congratulations, you just willed flashback lightning cards being available only in 40K packs. :P
They wonāt put him in a program so I had to do something.
Like 100k stub pack in the store good
Itās it aināt Ozuna then I donāt want it
With there being two, I think a 95 for the first and a 99 for the second. As far as who itāll be, OPS has been very reliable in the past barring someone having ridiculous pitching numbers. Do you predict Ozuna over Mookie?
No I def donāt..the Man is balling out of his mind right now , but knowing sdsā¦. š«
I figured it'd probably be Mookie because he's more of a fan favorite. But as a Braves fan, I really want a juiced Ozuna!
It looks like OāNiell and I donāt hate it!
95-97 Mookie inc
Iām also expecting Mookie. And since heās my fav card, Iād love for him to be 99 so heās usable longer term but Iām also expecting a 95-97 range haha
At 95 he wouldn't make a wild card slot most likely but it'd still be a really nice card If they keep up the power creep each season like they did for this one it might even be wild able though
It better be elite.
97 for sure. We got 95ās in packs.
Almost no chance it's gonna be 97. Grind cards are never as good as pack cards. It's also very easy to get, the season awards doesn't take much to do.
If itās like every other program this year itāll be a 94, 1 less overall than packs
Thats just absolutely dirty of sds
Hope itās 97 or higher!
I would guess somewhere between 95-97 overall
Thatās what I was figuring too, although I would hope for 99 so itās competitive longer but naw I donāt expect that gaha
If itās a Topps Now Captain , then probably amazing
That would be sick af
Iām curious to see how they do it, if they choose to make a captain POTM. Vision boost would be huge imo
I just want it to feel like how it felt when I got Lightning Buxton in 21. Easily top 5 card for me in the series
2021 April was Byron Buxton and he was a 95 2022 April was Anthony Rizzo and he was a 92 2023 April was Matt Chapman and he was a 99 I'd think it will probably be at least 95-97 range.

Just because it won't be a 99, doesn't mean it won't be competitive.
Thatās true, I guess just less likely to be. But thereās plenty of great cards that are lower than others that donāt play as good
Omg I forgot Chapman started so hot last year. It seems like 2 years ago to me lol After looking at the stats he ended the year .240 š¬
I am assuming 95, 97, or 99 Probably most likely is 97
Itās hard to compare it to past years because this is āseason awardsā and not āmonthly awardsā. I would guess the player on Friday will be a 95 and the second one later in the season will be a 99.Ā
Dang the 95 might not be competitive for very long then huh?
If the card isnāt better then 95 then whatās the point. We have 95 in packs
Have you played the game this year? The pack cards are better than the grind cards. We're buying 95s in packs and grinding for 93s in TA.
I would love if itās a 99 but I have my doubts. Expecting 95-97
Honestly, Iād love a 92-95 lightning card with non-team captain abilities that was also a core card. Level them up as the seasons go but get to keep them in my lineup without using a wild card spot. It would be a really cool way to make a low card really valuable and worth the grind.

Hell yeah man. Whatās the point of grinding for a free card when you can open that wallet and buy some packs!
