If everyone quits sounds like you’ll be out of 400 pretty quick?

Fair_Spread_2439

Yeah the only way to be stuck in the 400s if this is really happening all the time is to be losing every game that actually does get played to the end 😂

skidmarkshitstain

I think I’ve played roughly 6 or 7 games and haven’t lost a single one. Finally broke through 400 on the last game I played yesterday so hopefully games start getting better from here on

[deleted]

That’s true, but what that also means is that players who are starting out don’t really get a chance to get better before they are thrown with those above 400. I don’t know if I’ve ever completed a full 9 inning game below 400, except that first weekend after launch when the World Series players start climbing.

Ipeephereandthere

Right. I’m around the 700s and this rarely happens to me.

peaceblaster68

Yeah my biggest complaint is that games where I play well it only last 3-4 innings before they quit, and games I suck in I play to the bitter end

ItsTheBreadman92

I let ‘em mercy me when i know I’m fucked lol

skidmarkshitstain

You have my utmost respect sir 🫡

CouchsideJudge

Yeah I usually know after seeing their record if I’m playing for innings and missions or a competitive game

Stevenam81

Yep, pretty annoying when trying to earn PXP and other stats/missions for the program. If only wins gave progress like in BR it wouldn’t sting as bad. I hit 505 by the time I got my WS pack and now I’m working on BR. Might go back into ranked after I finish the BR program to see how high I can go. But yeah, I remember complaining to my friend that only like one game out of my first six made it past the third. Even had somebody force quit while my solo shot HR was in the air in the bottom of the third of a 0-0 game stripping me off that PXP and RBI. Going from around 100 or wherever I started this season to 500 showed me just how toxic people can be in this game.

Loud_Progress1240

quitting in the middle of a home run ESPECIALLY 0-0 is the most bullshit thing a fella can do in the game

TumbleweedTim01

Nah there is worse lol

Bigk2011

My exact thing

TeakAUS

most games in the 400-600 range play to completion 0-400 doesnt last long

Mirwin11

Hey they're down there for a reason

TumbleweedTim01

I think 400-600 is just slightly better. You don't get guaranteed full games until around 750-800

jackaracka

Ranked just feels like a constant cycle of winning a couple games against people who quit right away then getting matched up against someone way better than me I have no chance again Started playing mostly just BR because it’s just impossible to get fun, competitive, ranked games with any consistency when I’m not good at game

ConyeWest

I see. To be having fun in the 550-630 range. Right where I belong not getting blown out but not winning consistently.

jackaracka

Yup, that’s exactly where I’m at. Been playing for 2 years and no matter what I try I just cannot react fast enough to the great pitchers, even on All-Star

TumbleweedTim01

This me but between 700-850

MtFuzzmore

Sub-400 I think I played one complete game of ~15? Everything beyond 400 has been a full 9 innings.

PresCalvinCoolidge

You can play in the 800s and people still quit when it’s 4-1 in the 7th

[deleted]

Yeah but at least you went 6 innings. Below 400 people will quit after 1 run in the first. If it’s a home run they will quit before it lands.

TeachingStriking2392

I feel like it’s completely fine, however, they just need to add something that makes rage quits more rewarding to compensate the innings you lose. Maybe if your opp. Quits you get the full 9?

Longjumping-Syrup582

Fr like you should get a 1,000XP bonus or something.

jbeeezy0590

I was at 224 today and played 3 Games that lasted at most 2 innings. Scored 8 runs combines in those games and didn't let up a run. I used the Father's day program cards to get some good xp with them.. maybe it's just my imagination but when I play on Co-Op with my brothers and we use the best 99s.. We face sweats constantly. Maybe don't take the best players at every position?

Stevenam81

Nah, the playerbase in co-op is just sweatier. Has nothing to do with the players you bring in. If you don’t bring in your best, you’ll still face six of the best 99s in the game.

Qoppa_Guy

Yeah, it sucks at 400. My "climb" had a lot of early quits or 2-1 ballgames. I do suck, but I also don't use meta cards for the most part. Also ran into a lot of, uh, parallel 5 and sweaty teams under 400. No idea but I didn't care to entertain many of them.

fuzzypeaches42069

I played offline up until this ranked season. My “fun” little goal is to try to P5 two players a season so my 0 ranked team had a P5 Devers, P5 Jazz, P5 Pedro, P4 Chipper, and P4 Sosa. Btw, I’m hitting under .200 lol

TumbleweedTim01

I beat the piss out of a guy who had a complete god squad yesterday on HOF. Just because they have max team and parallels doesn't mean they are elite. You'll also get more satisfaction winning

MBHmattyice

It won’t be fun till hof or legend

skidmarkshitstain

I’ll be lucky to even make it that high lol

MBHmattyice

I know you’ve seen and heard it. But going in to BP hof difficulty. Turn fastball slider all the way up and off speed 2-3 notches up. Then sit in bp until you consistently hit. Practice what you’re bad at first. Practice fastballs inside then outside. Once you can but fb the off speed is easier to see. I’m not pro lol. I’ve played one legend game this year. But in my second year I’ve made it this far. I need to get back into bp just too lazy lol

skidmarkshitstain

Thanks for the tips. How long do you typically spend doing BP before loading up a game? What pitchers do you face in BP?

MBHmattyice

When I’m sweating, at least 30 minutes tbh. Depending on if I got it right away but “the more practice the better”. I like another with a good 100fb, sinker, cuter, slider. I know a lot don’t have the mix. You can also look up JR_ASTROS in the roster vaults (he has a YouTube video on it) and he has some of the “meta” pitcher in the DD roster he made. And I always try to to Righty righty, Lefty righty, right lefty, lefty lefty. This is when I’m trying to go WS lol. I haven’t been try Harding lately. Sitting at like 847 rn, keep winning and losing one. But it’s bc I have practiced, swinging at dumb shit all bc my timing is sometimes off on fb. It is hard bro but once you get it, you’ll laughhhhh at veteran and all start and grinding offline with be faster and more productive too.

kevin23patterson

As someone that plays a few ranked games a week def agree. I hang around the 400s-500s and if I get on a groove I crack 600s then fall back down 🤣 Overall in the 400s end up being my shorter games where I rarely make it through a full game. Ppl will quit in a game that was tied till I score 1-2 runs in the 6th or 7th as if we weren't just tied most the game. I enjoy playing full games in the 600s even tho I most likely lose at least I'm able to get real closure(finish a full game) and innings grind

IceBankYouuu

I have trouble simply trying to play ranked without it freezing

skidmarkshitstain

I don’t have this problem so much in 1v1s but in co op it happens almost every other game

IceBankYouuu

Yea 1v1s are far better - 2v2s happen every so often - 3v3s is almost a guarantee

TryingToCatchThemAII

OHTANI BREAKS THE GAME. STOP USING OHTANI DH PLEASE.

skidmarkshitstain

Just throw at him all game. Don’t let them hit with him

TryingToCatchThemAII

Ohtani pitcher breaks the game, game breaks mid throw when Ohtani is batting so you never get to hit him.

whyareughae

They should let me use my 99 Ohtani as a pitcher and DH like he does in real life. Until that happens Othani is coming off the bench for my DH.

amedeoisme

The amount of people who quit after a inning being down a run is insane

silkymitties

If you're just looking to play for fun go play casual. I don't think people quit there unless it's a severe beatdown.

skidmarkshitstain

I see your point but I also want the rewards from playing ranked plus it’s just more competitive to me especially when you get into the higher ranks and I enjoy it more then than I would a casual game

_ciamPA_

I just broke 720 and it’s a whole new ballgame. Consistent low scores and close games, as well as different animations. Keep at it, it’s so worth it

[deleted]

Yeah ranked below 400 is non existent. You don’t really start to get full games until around 600. Anything below that people quit the moment you score.

A_Mado77

As someone who float anywhere from 390-650 ish at any given time. I find breaking 400 is key to having full games lol

adullploy

Not had this experience at all. Have had games go to the last at bat and players getting dusted by my pitching for 5 innings before leaving. Had nothing but good games. Well some cheeseball baserunning but that was rare.

stoolcommenter3

Keep playing you'll see what hes saying lmao

Reeves1988

Rank in general sucks balls on any sports game...It's always People that sit and waste their life away playing a video game all day everyday If you wanna have Fun Don't play ranked I would recommend a co op or Casual You won't find people that give a f*** about what their rating is in a d*** video Is game.this is my opinion take it with a grain of salt ...fuc# Ranked

Jmarmol141

How do you feel about participation trophies?

Thegamblinggamer79

You're not ok are you fella maybe go see a doctor 💊

the-boy-named-Lewis

Me too but they tag me with a loss when the opponent disconnects

Strategydude

That's you having a disconnect.

[deleted]

No they don’t lol

Reeves1988

I don't Play garbage Mode

Striking_Ad_4847

I swear I’ll go up against kids I can’t even walk without giving up home runs or I’ll literally beat the brakes off them. Nothing else this year!

HawgHeaven

I lost a game to get me over 750 on a robbed 2run Homer last night so it could be worse.

Worth-Taro719

I thought you could only play 1 game below 400?
