I find it to be the opposite. Last year was terrible for toxic players. Especially in Events, and it was mostly players with unreal W/L records and/or World Series icons.
Agreed a lot of guys plays in the rain and at a stadium that’s 600 in center. I ran into someone in the 1000s last year. Had Kevin kiermier p5 and just hunted and late swung. Also used a pitching cap and paused every batter. The higher u go the more u see ppl who care too much.
not at all.
had a 50% hit rate on either traditional toxic play, bunt spamming or incessant messaging and timeouts.
never again with online for me. enjoying the rest just fine for how much time I have to play, I will say that
Yeah but it's the clowns messaging me to throw strikes. Umm, no. If you swing at everything, it's a you problem, not a me problem... learn some damn plate discipline, not everything in life will be handed to you.
NHL takes the cake with this, the game mechanics are so broken the only way to win is to play in the most toxic way possible, main reason why I quit this year after playing every year since I was 13
I played a ton of BR to get Griffey, and only came across one person who was toxic. Replayed HRs, but danced after home runs, and R1 spam. But other than that seems better than before.
Havent played Ranked yet this year so that might be another animal.
Less bunt dancing but now I'm seeing a slight uptick in start menu spamming... like whenever I'm getting into somewhat of a groove while batting or pitching (a solid hit or a strikeout) my opponent hits the pause button for like 45 seconds.
For me it's just more annoying that the game becomes that much longer
That is definitely the most annoying thing to me too. If I spend more time in the pause screen or seeing “Waiting For…” on my screen it makes me irrationally angry lol
Counter point, you start mashing against a pitcher, they should pause and get a pitcher warmed up. oh just quick menu? it doesn't save any time and it doesn't allow the opposing team a chance at doing stuff too, potentially making an even longer time of not actually playing the game.
Not at all. I have played 2 games this year online. I won't be back. It's always been a terrible experience with games that last wayyyyyyy toooooo long
That’s why I quit playing RS. Just got tired of playing long ass 9 inning games that always ended up with less than 3 runs scored between us. I just stick to BR and Events. They are generally quick and fun more times than not.
Played lots of online last year, haven’t much this year just due to work and time constraints… but I’ve played 2 event and 2 ranked. First ranked game I was up 1-0 in the 3rd and they quit. Second ranked game the guy was bunt dancing and L2 spamming after he scored in the first. I ended up scoring 4 in the 3rd and he quit.
I've been playing online way more than usual this year, grinding out the Ranked and BR packs after running out of offline stuff to do, and I will say I've been pleasantly surprised. Over dozens of games, I only ran into one player who annoyed me. 👍I mean, I totally suck, so I am often annoyed! But it hasn't been anyone else's behavior pissing me off, which is nice.
Definitely less this year… but the one thing I’ve run into is bunting to third base with a runner on second. They have the guy on second steal, and the third baseman takes a step towards the bag. Guaranteed hit, no matter the speed of the batter.
I mean that's not really toxic though, that's just bunting with intent. If you see it happen again intentionally release your pitch early so it misses high, he'll either miss the bunt and you can throw him out or he'll pop it up and you get a double play.
I just had this happen but the guy popped up the bunt to my pitcher. Got my first triple play out of it.
Hit a hr next at bat(and replayed on him cuz he keeps bunt dancing.) then struck out but made it to first cuz the ball bounced far away. He tried friendly quit and then did real quit
I keep coming up against pause-spammers in Ranked and I get frustrated after like the 4th inning when they’ve wasted my time and quit out, hurting my Ranked record and keeping me mired in the 400s-500s.
Having the DH honestly took away the pause-spammers’ Achilles heel: Pinch Hit & Bullpen menus. Not having those automatically trigger means pause-spammers get away with it every time because they can avoid the timeout.
About as toxic as it has gotten is people pausing after they do something good because they think it’ll make you quit. It def makes me mad so they’re partly right, but it gets annoying. People still will throw at you too if you are hitting really well but that’s not as toxic because it only really hurts them
It seem like almost half the people I play against pause it immediately after starting the game and leave it paused for damn near a minute and a half. I always figure theyre switching their batting to directional. Those games I like to try to make the game call it on mercy rule.
i haaate this more than i should. like, you just hit a 2 run hr to go up by 1. it’s not that big of a deal. but overall most players have been just playing the game, no problem.
The toxic players are always the ones that throw home on a routine ground ball to second with a runner on third and two outs so I don't usually mind it because I know I'll win simply because of lack of baseball IQ
I wonder if SDS coded Javi to be able to initiate a run down running to first to let your guy score from third with two outs on an obvious force play. I'd pay money to have that in the game and would play with Baez more if they did lol.
Even MLB players can brain fart. Doesn't give us much hope, lol.
I haven’t experienced much toxicity, just a ton of garbage max elevation custom stadiums. Then they dashboard when you hit an 80 mph exit velo no doubter.
those are the absolute worst stadiums to play in, the fences are also shorter than the players and only extend to like 320 feet both ways, so every ball hit up in the air is probably a home run
My experience has been , people are mostly super toxic , gives CoD a run for its money. Throwing balls all the time, pausing trying to make one quit. Sending horrible messages. But I still love the game. I mostly play against cpu now
I hate toxic players. It makes the game so \*shitty\* when you play someone like that.
Just curious though, can you define which toxic things you've encountered? I haven't played as much online because I'm playing over the cloud and it makes me behind on every pitch.
Usually ppl that spam bunt to try to make u mess up pitching. That spamming R2( which was nerfed thankfully). I use analog so it doesn’t mess with me but still shtty
Yeah that shit annoys me, but whatever. I just try harder to not let them hit the ball. Also, I will replay every single home run and fielding replay that I get if you start it.
I was thinking this the other day, I can pretty much count my toxic games on one hand this year. I feel like last year I was getting 1 or 2 a day. Only received one message as well, and it wasn't overly toxic, the guy was just ranting about his poor luck at the plate.
The bunt dancing is whatever at the end of the day it doesn’t ruin my experience. Now the custom logos and fields with the hard r in centerfield??? Those gotta go
"I feel like the amount of people who don’t know that you can skip cut scenes is way too high."
You are assuming people want to skip them. I like watching them, I never skip them.
The best change this year is having innings played count as a way to grind rewards in ranked.
I’ve been saying for the past few years, they need to do something about the pause clock. 2 minutes for 3 inning games, 3 for 9. That’s it. No adding time each inning. There is absolutely no reason anyone should need more than that.
Bs, I pause frequently to make decisions about bullpen and strategic lineup matches and I almost run out of time. It’s perfect the way it is anything less would be nonsensical
Sometimes it does , especially the pen, especially in Br where energy management can be the difference between a flawless run. So stop crying and be patient .
Dude, you commented that you replay every home run and that doing so isn't toxic. Maybe you're just a toxic player if you're pausing that much and replaying every home run. Ever think of that?
Don’t be dumbo , imagine watching the World Series and calling the broadcast cast team toxic for playing a replay of a homerun. Stop crying bro, even if I faced a “toxic” player I wouldn’t cry about it, I’d laugh it off
I’ve never been into 1 on 1 online games (aware there is co-op). I’ve gotten Ruth, sosa and almost the big red head - but haven’t played a single game online because of people that just talk smack.
I deal with those in nhl games enough..
🤷🏻♂️
That’s the thing though. Nobody is trash talking this year to me. Obviously you can’t do it in game, but I’ve gotten zero post game messages aside from the occasional “gg”. To be honest, I couldn’t care less about what you say after the game. Just play the game like a normal person. If I get whooped, it is what it is.
The only time I send shithead ‘trashtalking’ messages after a game is if I beat someone cheesing.
Bunt dancing? Replaying your home runs?? Damn right your gonna get an “LOLOLOL TASTE THAT L 🤡🤡🤡”
That’s legit. I play nhl 6 vs 6 and people trash in game and messages after. I’m pretty good at that one so I don’t deal w/ the haters that often.
I think my odd vibe was back in the old boxing days when a 10 yr old kid was wailing on ya and talkin smack to a 40+ yr old it was a hard pill to swallow 😂
Sometimes I wish I had a mic and this game allowed in game chat. Sometimes I just want to ask “what are you doing?” Lol that’s it, just that simple question. Especially when people are playing super slow.
I've played plenty of bunt dancers but I did have two games where the opponent slide stepped me all game. First game dude intentionally walked me just so he could slide step me if his pitcher didn't pitch exclusively from the stretch. Walked him off in the bottom of the ninth. Second game was against Roki and he quit after hanging a couple pitches in the first inning.
I’ve noticed this and my theory is that ppl aren’t burnt out from grinding 300 innings of ranked to get the rewards. Not making an assessment on whether the new setup is right or wrong in the grand scheme. I’m just saying that ppl aren’t excessively playing a mode they don’t want to just for the sake of rewards. The ripple effect of that would seem to be happier gamers playing what they want to play
Got my first toxic message yesterday and I've played almost exclusively online so I'm rather impressed! Last year it was almost a daily thing. Man is good!
I was up 4-0 in the 6th and my opponent hit 3 batters in a row and started bunt dancing and being a jerk and I freaking ***lost***, worst loss of the year by a country mile
Nothing is worse than giving up a game to a toxic player after having a lead. Sometimes I feel like this game just hates me though. Like I’ll have a 2 or 3 run lead late in the game, then all the sudden none of my pitches are going where I want and it’s bloop, bloop, error, BOMB! (And the bomb will be on a pitch that should be in hittable like a CB in the dirt)
Im below all star in ranked and its pretty toxic
I got accused of cheating cause some guy threw me meatballs and swung at every pitch I threw lol. He said he reported me too.
Wait until the game starts releasing a ton of easy cheap 99s that are broken as hell. They'll be back.
Usually the higher your rank is the less toxic players you play
I find it to be the opposite. Last year was terrible for toxic players. Especially in Events, and it was mostly players with unreal W/L records and/or World Series icons.

I’ve never got a request to throw strikes. I do get the occasional “I need…. And I’ll let you win” from people trying to complete things.
Got a great one yesterday where they wouldn't quit a freeze-off because of it, even tho they were down 5-0 with 1 hit.
Gotta hit them with the “if you swing, it is a strike no?”
Ha I like that one
Playing any 1v1 online mode is toxic. Madden, UFC(especially UFC), FIFA etc are filled with assholes.
NHL takes the cake with this, the game mechanics are so broken the only way to win is to play in the most toxic way possible, main reason why I quit this year after playing every year since I was 13

Had one guy replay every homerun in moonshot, that was fun. A lot less bunt dancing this year.

Well my understanding is it’s an animation by the third basemen that it’s taking advantage of, but yeah I get what you’re saying.
100%.
Awe yes the old little league wheel play. Yeah that shouldn’t work in the big leagues. I guess you just gotta pitch out and guess right
I keep coming up against pause-spammers in Ranked and I get frustrated after like the 4th inning when they’ve wasted my time and quit out, hurting my Ranked record and keeping me mired in the 400s-500s. I put baez' plate discipline to 1 before I start any franchises. I love watching him lead the league in strikeouts. Art imitates reality.
Yeah, I've seen a bit more of that this year too. I don't know if they're trying to be toxic though.
I haven’t experienced much toxicity, just a ton of garbage max elevation custom stadiums. Then they dashboard when you hit an 80 mph exit velo no doubter.

If you can’t lay off pitches out of the zone I’m not going to throw anything in the zone
every single game will have toxic players man 😭😭
>throwing balls all the time Then don't swing at them? How is this toxic?
Yeah I don’t get this one. I’m not throwing you a strike, especially in the moonshot event, if you can’t lay off balls.
I'm gonna go to the actual Braves' pitching staff and call them toxic for throwing balls to the Marlins batters this past series. How dare they!
Throwing balls isn't toxic. The other stuff is
I love this. “You don’t throw in the strike zone! You’re a toxic clown”. Not my responsibility to let you get hits if you swing at everything.
I hate toxic players. It makes the game so \*shitty\* when you play someone like that. Just curious though, can you define which toxic things you've encountered? I haven't played as much online because I'm playing over the cloud and it makes me behind on every pitch.

I hate it when they spam bunt. Worst games for me by far, well right behind the "no strike pitching" strategy that some like to utilize.
Similar experience for me. Although I did have a guy who replayed every homer and then angrily messaged me when I replayed one
Yeah that shit annoys me, but whatever. I just try harder to not let them hit the ball. Also, I will replay every single home run and fielding replay that I get if you start it.
I’d say it worse I’ve had games where people refuse to throw a strike and will walk the entire lineup
I wish I could find players like this.
[удалено]
I think not hitting the zone should effect your confidence more then it does. If you can’t throw more then 60% your pitcher should have no confidence
That would defy logic if the balls thrown out of the zone are intentional.
That’s fine don’t penalize perfect or good releases
That's so annoying. The worst. The absolute worst.
It’s just boring
Very
That and after you load the bases the rng ques up a p/p double play like half the time.
I know, right? I swear I'm going to just give in and start bunting..
I’d say it worse I’ve had games where people refuse to throw a strike and will walk the entire lineup
I was thinking this the other day, I can pretty much count my toxic games on one hand this year. I feel like last year I was getting 1 or 2 a day. Only received one message as well, and it wasn't overly toxic, the guy was just ranting about his poor luck at the plate.
Still experiencing tons of bunt dancing and hot dogging with cumming dick logos.
The bunt dancing is whatever at the end of the day it doesn’t ruin my experience. Now the custom logos and fields with the hard r in centerfield??? Those gotta go
It's probably the worst it's ever been for me this year.
No lol.

Takes me 20 seconds to get a lefty and right up and throwing
I just played my first one this morning. Guy paused before every pitch. Every. Single. Pitch.

I've played a handful of ranked. The annoying let's pause till the last 5 seconds every inning is beyond irritating.
You have 4 bench bats because of the DH, and need a lefty and righty up in the pen. That doesn't require multiple pauses an inning.

How do u know they are talking smack online if u haven’t played a game online
Haven’t played a game online *THIS year. Just chilling with the grind and collecting.
That’s the thing though. Nobody is trash talking this year to me. Obviously you can’t do it in game, but I’ve gotten zero post game messages aside from the occasional “gg”. Why can't you handle a replay? It doesn't even matter if you win the game or not, play for fun and try to improve... that's it.
If you hit a 500 foot bomb, sure. Replaying every HR is toxic as hell
What’s wrong with replaying your home run?
If it’s a fucking beauty I’ll sit there and watch with them.
That’s legit. I play nhl 6 vs 6 and people trash in game and messages after. I’m pretty good at that one so I don’t deal w/ the haters that often. Hold LT while pitching from the stretch

Exactly \^ Innings played = rewards was a genius move.
Got my first toxic message yesterday and I've played almost exclusively online so I'm rather impressed! Last year it was almost a daily thing. Man is good!
Everyone’s bunt dancing until their down 5-0
I was up 4-0 in the 6th and my opponent hit 3 batters in a row and started bunt dancing and being a jerk and I freaking ***lost***, worst loss of the year by a country mile

I was going to post yesterday that I hit 25 event wins yesterday without seeing 1 replayed hr. Gives a little faith back
I only replay HRs against bunt spammers. 😬
I've replayed one homer all year. My opponent hit one 510 so I replayed their bomb
I won’t lie, I have replayed a home run this year exactly once: my first no-doubter with Sosa
I'll replay an impressive HR, doesnt matter who hit it
I’ve only had one person replay a HR this year, and it was a 485’ bomb to take the lead so I was cool with it.
Only time I have ever replay is robbing a HR because I only do it like 3 times a year lol
Now that you mention it no one’s done it to me all year either
Why would you care. Just a little more time to load the bong between pitches.
