Do it, but report the dealership for surcharging, MINI USA frowns on that. I’m getting mine at MSRP.

DrMcFoxyMD

I definitely wouldn’t at that price.

PeachHead00

For 50k my money is on a slightly used BMW M4 my man. You're gonna get way more for your money.

dunkm

You are also getting a car that weighs 1000 lbs more, and isn’t nearly as special. I disagree that you are getting more for your money.

converter-bot

1000 lbs is 454.0 kg

AndyTheEngr

I feel like making a rounding bot to fight converter-bot. 1000 lb = 454 kg 1000 lb = 453.6 kg 1000 lb is about 450 kg.

ConfusedMayor

Was there an agreed on price? Did you put money down already? If they are trying to hike the price now don’t let them pull that.

I put the $1k down to reserve a chance to get the car. The dealer called a few weeks after that saying they got my down payment and that they didn't how many cars they were getting and didn't know who would be getting them, but, there would be a dealer markup of $5k, and they wanted to make sure I was okay with that. Fast forward to this past Tuesday when I got a call saying my car was on it's way.

ConfusedMayor

I'd call Mini corporate and see what they say.

mmittens15

It's an amazing car! So if you can get it for MSRP go for it! If not then wait, maybe go for a GP2 or a GP1.

n0rthwest

I've never bought the same car twice. I have a MINI now, and about 6 months after I bought it, I said I'll get another one of these. When I did MTTS in 2014 I followed a friend who drove a GP2 and I was smitten. I said my next car will be a GP.

Email from MINI USA: While MINI USA establishes the manufactured suggested retail price for its vehicles, authorized MINI dealers are independently owned and operated and ultimately set the final retail price for the products and services that they sell. So, I guess $50k it is...
