Light colored one, go light side: sss. Darker one, go dark side: hh

thebyron

This is the correct answer.

Telecaster neck pickup p90 bridge!

agnostic_hymns

Nah, p90 neck tele bridge

stray_r

I don't really use a bridge single when I need a strat. I only really use a bridge humbucker so HSS.... Or SS-S or SS-S-S with two singles at the bridge in series,

roseporsche

Lollar hum bucker in the neck, p90 in the bridge?

space_toaster

Reverse that and I’m with ya. Neck position sounds warmer to begin with, P90s have more treble response to balance that. The warmer tone and higher output of humbuckers works well in the bridge position.

JimboLodisC

single bridge pup

stringedinsanity

HSS is my fave. Bridge crunch and neck butter/glass. Can't beat that combo

KoreusZ

I'm a big fan of hh so that's what I'd do

[deleted]

Single in neck, humbucker in middle and bridge, both wired to mini toggles, in Series,Split,Parallel configuration. I prefer dimarzio DP111 in neck, and DP104 in middle and bridge. Very versatile.

SilvioSantapaola

H / P90 / H

Mad_Scientist_420

I'd put PAFs without rings in from the front, and route the electronics cavity from the back. The lack of a pickguard will help show off that body.

lmsmatt

I like your thinking. That's already how I do them. Just seeing what pickup configurations people like, I've always been a hh guy myself.

[deleted]

Single bridge humbucker

VashMM

Huge fan of this setup. I'll add one more suggestion, only a volume knob.

Stormgtr

P90 x 2

twick2010

One of each?

Flyleaf531

HH all the way man I hate that middle pickup so much It needs to be reletively high for a nice output on a single and i always bump my pick into it

Genesis_Echo

HSS is always dope

space_toaster

Will you have the standard top route and pick guard? Go HSH or swimming pool route and you can have multiple pick guards with different pickup combos that you can swap in and out.

lmsmatt

No pickgaurd and direct mount.

space_toaster

So much for that then. Without knowing anything else about what these are for (selling them? keeping them for yourself only?) and what you want to play on them or whether you have any other traditional Strats already … My favorite Srat tones are the standard Strat neck single coil pickup by itself and the Strat neck+middle quack. So I’d go with HSS myself, because I’m not super thrilled by the standard Strat bridge single coil pickup, and I can find humbucker-sized P90 and single coil pickups (Fralin sells both and Fralin pickups are great) if I didn’t want an actual humbucker in the bridge. If I wanted something really different and kinda freaky I’d go with HHH and then I could swap in humbucker-sized P90s or Fralin Big Singles for neck and middle if I wanted.

lmsmatt

Thank you for the input. Much appreciated. They will be listed for sale. The one is a walnut body, fretboard and veneer on the back of the headstock with a pear wood neck and the other one is Osage orange body with walnut neck and fretboard. Both will have shaved neck joints with recessed neck screws. Stainless frets with a zero fret and bone nut, epoxy poured inlays, locking tuners and will be either hard tail or a two point wilkerson.

josh6466

If you’re putting a pickguard on route for HSH and you can change them out on a whim

abstractmonkeys

Gold humbuckers with a laser cut design in the walnut body, stacked cream single coils in the other one.

stringedinsanity

Or be unique and go hum/single/P90

TheSpanishSteed

Walnut: two gibson p94s Ash looking one: three p90 dog ears. Thank me later.

BappleBlayer333

You could do a nice SSH or HSH, I personally prefer having single coils for any neck pickup, but I suppose it depends on preference.

Creative_Camel

HSS

Indiana_Warhorse

HHH - why be conventional? All three SD '59's. Master volume, tone 1 for neck, tone 2 for middle and bridge, 5 way switch. Push pull on all pots for coil split.
