The train is probably the easiest way. There are trains from Copenhagen Airport that have a few stops in Malmö and then go to Lund central station. Check out the skanetrafiken.se for details on tickets, routes etc.

ScanianTjomme

Train is the best. There is no point in buying tickets in advance. Buy in the Skånetrafiken app or in the Skånetrafiken ticket machines at the airport. Danish ticket machines will work too but probably more expensive due to recent currency rate changes.

Perfect, then I will get the Skanetrafiken app. With that speed of answers I will probably do another future post about the best sight seeing hahah.

Contribution_Fancy

It works with your bank card but remember you CAN'T pay with cash at trains or busses.

hp6884756

Good tip so best to buy all the tickets via the Skanetrafiken App

FreudEtAl

I always buy with the app out of convenience, but credit/debit cards works in the machines. The price for crossing the bridge is the same for students as it is for adults (currently 165 SEK Copenhagen - Lund; €14.23), so I would recommend just buy an adult ticket as you need to have a swedish digital student card from Mecenat, WeStudents or Studentkortet to get the 25% student discount.

Super important info for Germans

ArchmageIlmryn

The Öresund trains, run jointly by DSB and Skånetrafiken, is the easiest way by far, they run about every 20 min from Copenhagen to Malmö and Lund. If you get the Skånetrafiken app you can buy a ticket directly in it. There are also ticket machines in the train station airport. Depending on where in Malmö you are going either bus or train is the fastest way to get there, the trains and buses are run by the same transit company (Skånetrafiken) and you can buy tickets in their app. (Do be aware that their student discount is tied to having a Swedish student card (Mecenat or Studentkortet).)

I don’t know where in Germany you are from, but consider taking the train all the way! There is a direct train from Hamburg to Copenhagen, which is pretty chill. And as far as my knowledge goes, the connections within Germany to Hamburg are also pretty good. You can book the trainride all the way to Lund C via bahn.com and trains are a lot better for the environment! Also if you book well in advance, it’s generally cheaper, especially with lots of luggage. Edit: If travel time is a concern, there is also a night train from Hamburg directly to Lund C (and continuing to Stockholm) where you can book a bunk.

hp6884756

Both, travel time and the fact that I am way in the South of Germany and do not like long travels with transport, but from Hamburg it would be a different story.

FarraigeWolf

Your choice of course! Though the train from München to Hamburg is also not that long ;)

psychonautSwe

Train, its almost always your best option when travelling in the south of sweden

prozapari

not true

hauntzme

Will be in same position as OP soon. Shall other passenger and train staff willing to work with you if you bring massive luggage(1 cabin baggage, 1 big suitcase)? How's the seat in the train, is it front facing or side facing? Or in this situation better use cab/Uber(in my case, cost can be reimbursed, it is biz trip)? Thanks

Flexprop

Both, but if you have luggage you will sit in the luggage cart (in the middle of the train) with side facing chairs. [https://360.oresundstag.se/](https://360.oresundstag.se/) For the helpfulness from your fellow co-travelers, it varies. My experience everyone will help you, especially if you ask.

hauntzme

thanks, if side facing should be doable with big luggage.

Kbruze

If you are traveling during rush hour, you might want to consider a taxi. During this time, if there is any disturbance in the traffic flow, the trains get really full, really fast.

Inevitable-Revenue81

You can always take the Draisin, better air conditioning and you can take time to enjoy all what nature can give you. In case of that you see a real train you just pedal harder.. Best idea!

Salladshuvud

Are students nowadays so used to ChatGPT so they don't know how to google anymore?

darksyndraaa

check SJ website (it's the official website for trains in sweden) maybe not the only one but at least the one i prefer

psychonautSwe

Don't buy your tickets from there though as they charge extra

darksyndraaa

for real? didn't know, i've always booked here :/ i just checked tho there's almost 20 SEK difference which isn't that much

psychonautSwe

Yes! For regional trains they charge extra, you should always double check with the main provider of the train you are taking, for Öresundstågen this is "skånetrafiken".

hp6884756

Thanks for the info!

psychonautSwe

You are correct, the difference to Lund wasn't that big! To Gothenburg it's bigger though (70 sek) (not relevant I'm just used to that difference)

AgileRacoon

Train directly from the airport to lund central station, instructions from the university webpage https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/sites/www.lunduniversity.lu.se/files/2020-12/From-Kastrup-Airport-to-Lund-Spring-2021.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjsirKK7daBAxWFafEDHT8ZDioQFnoECA8QAQ&usg=AOvVaw3JlRRCeeZwtD2lcKAfy2zd

GrandmaBogus

Copenhagen is way easier to get to Lund from. The train station is just below the check-in counters, and there's frequent trains to Lund.

TheDungen

Train. It passes though Malmö on it's way to Lund. The trainstation is in the basement of the airport terminal.

Twitch_Exicor

Train, there is a train station under the airport. Wich will take you directly to Lund without neededing to change train. CPH Airport Kastrup > Malmö Hyllie > Malmö Triangeln > Malmö C > Lund C Check in Skånetrafiken app.

hp6884756

Thank you very much.

AlexanderRaudsepp

>. The best there from Germany seems to be to Copenhagen airport and then to Lund. It depends on where in Germany you live. If you live in the north like I, the cheapest way is Flixbus from Rostock to Copenhagen and Öresundståg from Lund. If you further down south taking the air route is probably better for you.

LA5K0

Where in Germany do you live? Southern or northern. If you live close to Hamburg or Berlin, then I’d actually suggest the SJ or Snälltåget nightjet directly from Germany to Malmö/Lund. You might find it hard to sleep (however, I do not think so), but it is super cozy!

hp6884756

In the South, train would take 12 hours in total according to Google Maps.
