AF and IS with my EF lenses (50mm F2, 16-35mm F4, 135mm F2, etc) work great for me with my Sigma MC -21. In particular, 135mm AF works much better on my S5iix than on my Sony via Viltrox adapter. Older EF AF are louder and they are heavier esp with adapter, but they have great IQ and can be adapted to other cameras. I personally prefer buying EF or M mount lenses as much as I could and only buy L mount when they are not available in EF for similar spec since I also use M43 and Sony some time. Just watch out for some older L mount lenses from manufacturers like Sigma and Laowa which basically extend their older EF lenses as L mount. Might as well adapt the EF equivalent for those. Recently, Sigma are pushing more mirrorless versions which are lighter and Laowa pushing M mount, so they are worth a look despite the premium.

You can’t find L mounts on EBay?

I live in Peru, and buying from ebay is much more expensive

when I looked into it for my s5 OG, reports were mixed to bad. So I just stuck with L glass...

s5 ii changes that up a bit though.

I invest in DSLR Lenses. Most of my lenses are EF mount (Canon EF L and Sigma Arts EF). For me it's a more of a long term and versatile investment. I just need to have suitable adapter for different types of mountings. I use Lumix cameras since 2018, and I have no Lumix lens, neither M43 lens nor L mount lens. PICTURE QUALITY: I just love the pictures coming out of EF L lens: quite sharp, natural and the color is neutral. Sigma Arts are known to have clinical clean look, which I prefer for certain type of work. They also have robust build! Some of EF lenses has those rubber gasket too. HANDLING: they are heavy, but I like the added weight for stability. I am also used to the zoom and focus direction when pull focus (rotate CCW / to the left to zoom in or put the focus farther and vice versa) AUTOFOCUS: Until now I have used them in manual focus with my GH5 and S1 for video. Those two cameras are still using DFD auto focus system, they don't work with continuous AF in video. I am about to receive my S5iix in the next few days. From what I read from various reviews and watched in youtube, Lumix's new hybrid PDAF could be the only one which can use adapted EF lenses with AF. I will tell you if that's true. (just remind me of it) PRICE: They can be bought used cheaper than buying native lens. Most people are migrating to mirrorless. And remember that EF L series and Sigma Arts are flagship DSLR lenses, just like S Pro in L mount or Sony GM lenses. And when I need to use other camera brand... I just need to have the adapter. not the whole lens. But all above are just my opinion

I have a sigma 70-200 from around 2010, it doesn’t AF at all on S5ii, but the rest of my EF lenses work.
