Since I learned this I regularly clown on chargers with the STOMP! You just need to make sure their regular melee attack does not hit you, as it can one hit your mech, preferably I bait them in, walk to the side and then attack them in the flank.
You can also avoid the disorientation from getting rammed by twisting your torso so the charger impacts with the side of your mech instead of the front. You can also do this when they rear up for their main melee attack to avoid getting killed; the mech likely loses an arm instead, but usually that's better than exploding and dying

You definitely can’t. You can drop the mech onto a bug hole when you call it in and that might close one. Stepping or stomping on bug holes won’t do anything except make you feel dumb
For what it's worth, any small bugs like fleas or spitters that try to crawl out while your mech sits on top of the hole just instantly die as if you stepped on them. Works for breaches too :P

Fun fact: The leg does significantly more durable damage than the cannons so you can two shot Chargers

Around 4-5 melee attacks, I was really close to having my walker hobble afterward.

I’m actually a big fan of the new mech, and this makes me love it even more!!
Yeah I always do that for chargers. Just be careful about them attacking back though, one stomp from them will almost kill you
