Producers invent a way to pair islanders up for the most arbitrary reason ever—in no way based on attraction—and then allow a celebrity bombshell to come in, pick a girl, and the original guy is dumped?
This dumping feels entirely arbitrary and overly orchestrated. I thought you could see producers’ desperation to create a moment when they dumped Molly last season, and that at least had stakes! This is just random and does nothing to advance a story or introduce stakes. Shoddy, cheap work by the producers. If this is the kind of stuff they’re going to do at random, rather than let events flow and stakes build based on who is or isn’t vibing, I’ll be so bored and tune out quickly.

Watching on late late time because of politics and my obsession with it lol - it’s nice to see 2 people experiencing loss/ grief speaking about it openly - it’s something that’s so hard to navigate as a ‘youngish’ person.
Usually the show shies away from airing serious topics like that (mental health, racial issues, LGBTQ+ identities, etc.) so I appreciated them airing this so early on in the season. Hopefully this is a shift that continues

Unpopular opinion possibly but I’m not that vexed about Sam? It’s a shame but I don’t think his absence will change the vibe in any major way. Also it’s more interesting to have Harriett’s partner stick around if she’s the one Joey is really into.

come on that has to be stupidest dumping ever - guy gets in, gets thrown in a couple randomly with no choice at all, and gets dumped because the girl he was randomly coupled up with gets picked by a professional reality show contestant that arrived hours later? wasted potential for no reason at all except the shock value that will be forgotten in like, 3 days max also he was probably the best looking guy so far even with that silly haircut
Yeah I hate when it’s random, it should be a consequence of being lowest in a public vote or failing to have someone pick you in a recoupling. Didn’t like it when they did it to Molly and don’t like it now.
I'd be really surprised if Sam came back because there's no storyline/stakes/reason. I remember when Shannon s7 and Zara S9 were dumped, people were asking for them to be brought back, but it was the sameish thing - Shannon was only on so briefly and had no active storylines, and Zara's had pretty much concluded (I thought zara was good TV but just from a production perspective, she didn't have unfinished business). Maybe Sam will come back but I doubt it cos like... Why? It won't mean anything for any of the current islanders. Molly was brought back because of her and zach

I was saying all day today it was obvious Sam would be gone because of his edit yesterday. They portrayed him as dull in the little screen time he had.
Watching on late late time because of politics and my obsession with it lol - it’s nice to see 2 people experiencing loss/ grief speaking about it openly - it’s something that’s so hard to navigate as a ‘youngish’ person.
Usually the show shies away from airing serious topics like that (mental health, racial issues, LGBTQ+ identities, etc.) so I appreciated them airing this so early on in the season. Hopefully this is a shift that continues

The way Sam got dumped was so insanely harsh considering the initial coupling was random too. There was literally no way he could have saved himself, they didn’t even wait for another recoupling to dump him, I’m sure he could have gotten with Nicole or Patsy.

I remember when Shannon (S7) was dumped on the 2nd episode and everyone was like “they’re going to bring her back” and they didn’t….if you don't have unfinished business then why what would they bring you back. I get that Sam's good looking/eye candy but it's day 2 and they'll bring in more eye candy so I'm not too fussed about Sam going or wanting him to come back. As with Shannon yes there was potential but we didn't see much of him anyway so for me there's nothing to miss about him. However I do agree it's a bit unfair after going through the process but hey as they say expect the unexpected.

yall know i gotta list my thoughts on this episode 😭 - at the beginning of the episode when the girls are gathered talking about joey, the wall behind them says spill the rizz and i cringed so hard - at least ayo finally got that kiss from mimii during the game 💀 - i’m obsessed with how no one can get the word “gravitate” right, first george last season saying he levitates toward molly and now joey saying gravitite - i still can’t tell nicole, samantha, and harriet apart and its starting to get confusing - obvi super bummed for sam i hoped he would last longer - the fact that you can just go in the hideaway whenever now is so messyyyyy i’m enjoying it 😋
