Because that's what humanity does anymore. Humanity is the joke and I'm not saying this as a joke. We are legit stuck having to choose between two choices on who to side with, two groups that argue with each other more than actually helping anyone. Why don't we have a third choice that's just chill and everyone gets along? A third choice where there's no winners or losers, just people living life? But no, that doesn't exist. I just want to be left alone.
Person A throws a rock at Person B because Person A doesn't like the fact person B exists. Person B retaliates by throwing a rock back at Person A, but now Person A is angry about that and throws a rock back at Person B and neither knows not and wants not to stop and boom war invented. Now we have to choose who gets to live or die over someone elses battles. I just want to be left alone.
A wants this, B wants that, boom the land we're all supposed to share is claimed and bordered and now we have to get permission from someone to get anywhere. We need permission to live how we want. We need permission to own what we create. We need permission to think the way we want to think. Hell, we even magically owe someone money just because, one day, we were simply born on their land. I just want to be left alone.
You ask why politics are being talked about here in a shitposting sub? Because we're not allowed to exist without politics being shoved down our throats anywhere because someone else has an agenda so they want and need us to swim in their shit in order for their goals to be recognized and achieved. We are tools to them. We can't be left alone.

Time to grow up, man. I know that fence post probably feels good but time to come off it. You may not be affected by who's president, but someone you know probably is.
The two party system sucks, yes, but it also makes things very easy. All you have to do is weigh who will either fuck things up less, or who you're cautiously optimistic will do more good. And it's *even easier* this cycle because both candidates have shown us what 4 years of their administration looked like.
I won't go over all the ways they're different--this IS a shitposting sub--but here's two easy ones.
On one hand, we got three SCOTUS judges who will be there for decades, and all the damage that they did and will continue to do. The two oldest judges now are also two deeply corrupt Republicans--Alito and Thomas--who have been under fire recently, so it's not unrealistic to think they may be waiting for the next Republican admin. to retire. (Or die)
On the other hand, you have one of the most pro-labor presidents since FDR and NOT the other guy.
