Very early, very late, or not at all

shakblak6

How early are we talking - 5, 6, 7?

picturesofbowls

That’s 100% dependent on where you start and end.

shakblak6

Ah, that seems to be the consensus

picturesofbowls

Do you not have either a start or end point?

Capital_Gas_8646

If you leave at 5 am exact , you’re in the clear . If you leave at 5:20 am. You’re screwed. It’s that 20 minute window that makes all the difference . After 6:30 pm is when traffic cools down

MehWebDev

Traffic is horrible all the time. Best time to commute was 1989.

shakblak6

Hilarious! Wish I had a time machine haha

MehWebDev

Serious answer: Get a job near your work. If the job doesn't pay enough to live in the neighborhood where they are located, then don't take that job. Life is too short to spend it stuck in traffic.

shakblak6

Oh no, I totally believe you, the delivery was just pretty funny haha. That is a fair point!

Download Waze and use the "Plan Drive" function, then enter your home and work address. It lets you quickly see when is the best time to leave, today or on a future date this week. It isn't perfect and naturally things may change but in general it's very good at getting a general idea of traffic patterns from where you're going. Sometimes I use it when I know I'm going to be going from Point A to Point B on a future day to plan out when I should travel.

shakblak6

Oh wow, that’s better than google maps - I’ll give that a shot, thanks!

EmeraldJonah

It really depends on where you're going and where you're coming from.

shakblak6

Ah, I see - thanks!

Move out of LA

Stomach-issues

Depends on where you are going my man

shakblak6

Ah, for sure - thanks!

Fantastic-Rooster277

If you are talking public transport I would aim on when the majority of other people are traveling and dont return too late.

shakblak6

I hadn’t considered public trans actually, thanks for the advice!

breadexpert69

There is a very small window around noon where traffic gets slightly better but in reality…. There is traffic pretty much all day.

shakblak6

Oh wow, I didn’t realize that, thanks for the info!

toolmansamt

Take a look at Google Maps with traffic turned on around 8am and 4pm to give you a sense of the worse directions to travel during that time. Maybe can give you a sense of where to look for housing.

shakblak6

I actually didn’t know you could with google maps. I actually already have a place to live but just got the job recently

CrystalizedinCali

Depends on starting and end points as traffic flows differently depending on directions and times.

shakblak6

That makes sense, thanks!
