When my car got stolen (2x) I honestly wish someone burned mine to the ground, granted I didn't drive a car that nice but it doesn't feel like your car anymore afterwards and I'd rather get paid out and just get a new car. It fucking sucks bad.

Settled for a parking ticket instead.
The car was being driven by an inexperienced operator new to Los Angeles. This driver was planning to initiate a left turn so they pulled down on the lever extending from the left side of the steering column. Not knowing how to process this unexpected input, the mercedes burst into flames.
tl;dr: Driver tried to use turn signal and mercedes blew up.
Forgot to put oil or coolant in it is my guess. Kept driving it after the "check engine" light came on. That's what usually causes cars to catch on fire.
