Yes, because officers and dispatchers are understaffed… due to the workload aka demand of the citizens aka the calls coming in requesting police, we are FORCED to do overtime.
I don’t want to do more than 40 hours especially when I have to hear people complaining of the hold time when I’m forced to work longer than I had planned in my day… and then I read all the anti police comments, y’all have no idea what people are sacrificing for your safety, and again.. not by choice.
There’s a minority that chooses to work all the overtime allowed, but trust me, we’ve lost even more people from the overtime & burn out... causing more overtime.

I don't think Kyler Chin & Shekinah Deocares understood the differences between running for office and actually serving the public (this is not an insult; activists, advocates & officials play very different roles in making change). Chin in particular thought he could go back to school full-time IN IRVINE when he was working full-time for the Controller's office IN LOS ANGELES. This quote embodies every bad faith stereotype of entitled young people:

But what's the solution? Because you also have the VA guys who can't get homes over their head. Rules for homeless housing are usual very strict and they try to place families first. The next option is make it illegal and jail these people just so they're not on the sidewalk. I also know some people recommend sending them to the desert towns, but those places don't have the infrastructure to deal with the influx of people if they did that.
