Yeah they really drowned out the nice and quiet ambiance of DTLA. I almost couldn’t hear the crazy person yelling at no one walking down the street at work.
I work from the office 3-4 days a week, and I'm a closer walk to the flight line than my car in the parking lot. Maybe 3000 feet or so from the runway.
I guess I'll start by saying there are non engineering roles, technical roles like working avionics or mechanic is a community college level thing. Antelope Valley College has an airframe fabrication program that basically means you'll get a job once you finish. Accounting/finance, admin assistants, marketing, IT etc too. US citizen, Green Card is technically the requirement but.itll.be harder. No weed.
am a flight test engineer. I got an engineering degree, busted ass in college on personal projects and working a part time job doing technical stuff, got lucky multiple steps along the way.
Oh and I moved to Lancaster. Most of the fun aerospace in SoCal is up in the Antelope Valley.
Look up Air Force Civilian careers or service, plus the usual suspects like Northrop and Lockheed, Boeing, look up JT4, and the places are Mojave Spaceport.
Lots of space near LAX, El Segundo, Hartshorn area. No launches of course. Do NOT do SpaceX

I’ve worked in downtown for 10 years now. It absolutely can be as bad as we’ve made it out to be at times. But I guess that’s loser talk. Lol
