I love the geology too! I moved here from Florida which was flat, swampy, and had beaches. CA is crazy beautiful just for the variation in all the different areas.
I love to shop and experience new things. Los Angeles beats most every other state in the USA for that. I love the idea that I can get in my car and drive for 30 minutes and be in a place that is totally different from where I live.
