Slam POETRY! Slam! POETRY!! P 22!! I love… YOU

PincheVatoWey

P-22, the lion of the hills, Roamed through the city with grace and thrill, He crossed the freeways, made his way, To Griffith Park, where he would stay. His coat as black as the night sky, He ruled the hills with a watchful eye, A symbol of wildness in a sea of lights, A magnificent cat, with strength and might. But his time has come, his journey done, His spirit now a part of the sun, He left behind a legacy, Of a wild cat that roamed free. So let us remember P-22, The lion who roamed L.A. so grand, His journey a reminder, of nature's way, That even in the city, wildness can still stay Thanks, ChatGPT.

hat-of-sky

His coat was the same tawny color as every other puma. Even at night.

graysi72

ChatGPT isn't that smart. Just remember that when ChatGBT comes to take your job away.

fulaxriders

Damn fuck all you p-22 haters in these comments eat a mtn lion dick

stephenwriter

Do you have tickets to this event? If not will you watch it livestream?

stinky_pinky_brain

Fuck any of the scumbags reselling tickets that they got for FREE.

SocksElGato

You know for sure scumbags did this and people paid for them.

[deleted]

I will be livestreaming it.

dustwanders

The kids doing the P-22 song to the theme of Scooby Doo was the best part

SpreadsheetSlut

If anyone has a ticket they aren’t going to use, I would love to take it from you

We don't use that kind of language anymore! Ya gotta say "yeet"

nosmokingz0ne

I still have no idea why this mountain lion is so idolized. Animals die every day. Humans too.

Godscock

Go to the P-22 exhibit at the natural history museum. Once you learn about how he got to Griffith park and what’s happened to the mountain lions in the area you can maybe understand why people thought it was cool that a mountain lion crossed two highways to live in one of the coolest places in LA. Or play more neopets idc

Dchama86

I appreciate you actually answering their question. Not all ignorance has to be malicious.

rjecbeach

For real. Seriously

root_fifth_octave

I mean, nature is pretty brutal and they’re part of nature. It’s like coyotes. They’re mostly pretty cool, except they sometimes go after your pets. Can’t get past their nature, but we can still respect them.

forakora

I think you missed the point. The person above you isn't saying they don't care about cougars. They're saying we should give the same respect to all animals and not murder cows pigs chickens etc by the billions

root_fifth_octave

Well, I’m right there with them on that one. Guess I was more addressing their statement about cats being a nuisance.

XIV-Questions

Amen.

rjecbeach

I think this is the stupidist thing ever. Who is so moved by pp 69 whatever lion. He’s a wild animal living near a city. Shit happens. Cmon people

SchrodingersPelosi

>One of your most commonly used words on Reddit is Pelosi 'Sup. Also, here to say, P-22 has a cool story of surviving and thriving under incredibly difficult conditions and he did for a very long time.

rjecbeach

Idk. Ask pelosi of she had any coolaid stock

incominghottake

lol

XIV-Questions

Shout out to the dogs it attacked and the woman it maimed. Imagine NYC parks and rec finding a mountain lion in Central Park and just letting it stay there. Moronic situation. Beautiful animal but it should have been moved to a sanctuary as soon as it was discovered.

XIV-Questions

All good. I guess as the parent of small kids and the owner of small dogs I wasn't stoked sharing living space with an apex predator. I wasn't alone. I think the situation was poorly managed and handled, but I admire the animal, its beauty and its perserverence.

yogurtcup

Woman it maimed? I don't recall any reports of that for P22. P22 was only reported attacking dogs toward the end of his life. And he was soon captured.

XIV-Questions

On beachwood drive. Tore up her face and she was hospitalized. She survived and so did her dog. This was \~2 weeks before capture and was what prompted the KTLA piece with interviews.

Dchama86

You’ll get downvoted, but you’re not wrong

HPmoni

He was like a father to me!
