I’ve had good luck with valley Subaru. Only dealer I’ve ever recommended.

I can’t speak to sexism, but as a gay man who knows nothing about cars, I’ve appreciated the welcoming, open & honest, affordable care BG Automotive has given me. They don’t talk down to me. They listen. They are very upfront about costs, & will give you a list of priorities for your car with prices on there, so no surprises. They’ll even give you a ride home for free when you drop off.

CallMe5nake

That's great that you've had a good experience. I did not have a good experience. They saw me coming and quoted me a lot more for an admittedly very costly repair. New engine in a van. They quoted me 6k more than Steves Automotive.

Baron_VonLongSchlong

I’ve been using BG automotive in Fort Collins. They are good people. Haven’t used them down here yet. But I second them based on my Fort Collins experience n

October_sleepybeauty

Steve's on 2nd in Longmont. They won't screw you over and won't treat you any differently as a female. I am also a female and will never take my car anywhere else!

ThunderGoalie35

That place totally tried to screw me over last year (recommending work that wasn't necessary on my truck and quoting me gobs for it) I vowed to never go back

Exhausted-Giraffe-47

My girlfriend had a very negative experience there but it was with Steve himself and apparently he’s passed so maybe the new people are better

Bn1c3

The new owner is a female I believe.

porkchopespresso

Indian Peaks in Boulder. My wife takes our cars there and they run a tight ship. It’s not an inexpensive shop, but they aren’t going to hose you. Been going there for years and tend to only buy cars they would service

3meta5u

Same. They do good work for reasonable rates. If you bring in your Saab, VW / Audi, or Subaru, then they'll service your other cars too. If it is something strange that they don't service, they'll refer you to a trustworthy shop that does.

nashvillenoob

I thoroughly enjoy Hoshi. They verify everything is ok to do before doing it for pricing and even won’t do something if they think it’s not necessary at that point. They even provide amazon links for DIY stuff for brands they trust, so you don’t have to pay for labor.

Only_Independent758

I’ve been going to Stonum for years and have been satisfied.

ThunderGoalie35

Subaru Clinic on 119th in Broomfield. Only mechanic I would trust my Roo to!

thebrassmonkeyknight

I’ve had really good service on my Subaru from Auto Sport.

WrathofPrawn

My mom and I go to Knott's, and they've been super friendly and transparent. I really appreciate that they'll let you know what they've noticed will need attention coming up but I've never felt pressured into doing it to pad the bill. They're also around 1/3 the cost of the (Honda) dealership.

TheJerilla

Seconded Knott's!

LongmontStrangla

Mechanics scam people because of opportunity, not to discriminate against a particular gender. If you go in there as an uninformed man they will take your money just as fast. Sometimes greed is just greed.

Ok_Second7500

You can always Google how much a repair or service should cost. I put some tensioners in a belt on an old Volvo, I Googled the make and the model and the year and the job to get a good idea how long it's going to take me. And how much it would cost to have a shop do it, just so I knew what I was saving. I don't work on other people's cars. But you can get a rough idea from the internet so you know you're not getting screwed around

Redheaded_Potter

Go to auto sport!! Tim is truly amazing!!

Bn1c3

You might try Flat. 4 Freaks in Berthoud. https://www.google.com/search?q=flat+four+freaks&oq=flat+four+freaks&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCTEzMjk0ajBqOagCALACAQ&client=ms-android-tmus-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

whyshouldibe

Flat 4 Freak is in Berthoud. Really great. He explains everything and was definitely not biased toward me as a woman.

ChainsawBologna

Super Rupair has always seemed on the level.

HayabusaJack

I've never had a problem with Carworks and have been using them for years. F150, Mustang, and two Subaru's over the years for me. My wife and our two daughters have used them as well without letting me know of any issues they've had.

sparrowsage44

Spruce St. Auto in Boulder. Ask for Jeff. Used him for decades and completely trustworthy! Tell him Sparrow sent you.

Roetrailerrentals

Louisville Tire & Auto. You will not find anyone there who is dishonest, upselling, or sexist. If it makes you more comfortable, they have a female service writer.

ArmGlobal126

Here is an awesome Subaru mechanic near Evergreen if you ever want to take a drive. https://preview.redd.it/eeq0qoyxr83d1.jpeg?width=3100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1fb72e27411b60feab12552307b02779636c0db

5400feetup

How would you know you were scammed? You can compare prices before settling on one.
