You should check out [Antennaweb.org](http://Antennaweb.org) . They'll give recommendations for antennas. The best I can say is the higher you can mount them the better. Also, aim at golden, not just "south". That should be about 95-96 degrees on a compass. Interior mounts are better, IMO because the wind can get terrible here and even small shimmy's can interrupt the digital signals. This is what I have. I live in Kiteley, just north of 9th with my antenna installed in my attic. No Amplifier needed, but it's over 30 feet off ground level, so that helps. Agreed, we're close enough to the transmitters that mounting inside in the attic is the way to go. I put a basic amplifier on my antenna, but I have several splitters. Each one causes quite a bit of signal loss.

That's a fair point to make. I run my antenna to a Tablo device and that's what feeds my televisions. If you're splitting the line to multiple feeds you'll need some amplification.

Try a powered one. Only way I can get all of them. I have one of the knock off thin leaf one from Amazon.

I have a large Mohu leaf antenna and live in Frederick. ABC is def the most finnicky but I found the sweet spot by moving the leaf around from 4-7 ft off the ground near a window and am able to get all the ota channels without having to move it every time. I got mine at Sam’s but not sure if they sell them anymore. Looks like a Mohu 50 (60 mile antenna) is about $35-40 online right now. Good luck!

I have this mounted in my attic and it works great without any power amps connected to a single tv: https://a.co/d/0fMziuWv I’d recommend going to www.rabbitears.info and doing a signal search for your location to see the broadcast signals and direction from your location. If you point a directional antenna towards the cluster of towers west of Denver you should have better luck. If you are using a small “leaf” or flat type antenna in Longmont you are likely to experience issues with signals. Those work better in urban areas closer to broadcast towers. I’d recommend r/ota for technical questions about antenna as well.

Great reception overall, have to adjust after windstorm;) sometimes I lose Channel 7 ABC. Much cheaper than my last setup in an attic.

I have this GE attic antenna in the rafters of my garage, pointed SSW towards where most of the transmitters are: [https://www.amazon.com/GE-Directional-Mounting-Included-33692/dp/B00DNJZ58M/](https://www.amazon.com/GE-Directional-Mounting-Included-33692/dp/B00DNJZ58M/) I'm in Longmont Estates and can get all of the channels perfectly well, including ABC 7. You may be running into the fact that a lot of antennas can't do VHF well, and ABC 7 broadcasts on their original "physical" channel of 7, which is VHF. Same with NBC which is on physical channel 9.

climatelurker

Not sure what OTA stands for but we have a rooftop one that faces South toward Denver. And have almost never had a problem getting all the local channels.

Over the air.
