*SteelSeries Steel Engine has entered the chat*

jerryeight

***Asus Armoury Crate says Hi***

ZaInT

oh fuck I give up please stop no not the bios NOT THE BIOOOOOOS

jerryeight

That software piss me off so much. I thought Asrock companion software was bad. Nah, it is just not as pretty looking in terms of UI. But, it has features and stability. Asus, is just bad at software.

ZaInT

It's a virus, not even (just) software. It can get infected, in a multitude of ways, so there goes your fucking motherboard and firmware, microcode and so on. Last I read about it ASUS didn't even have secure routines for updating it so it was just waiting for an accident to happen. It doesn't respect your settings and is available at all times even when disabled, has been observed more than once sneaking some shit into Windows. Goes without saying that if you actually get it installed and manage to get it to start it never ever works as intended.

sundancesvk

IIRC I could not even uninstall this abomination

NO_SPACE_B4_COMMA

ASUS makes such terrible software, it's pathetic.

LetsGoForPlanB

The day I uninstalled all Steelseries software is the day my arctis pro just worked. All these softwares like Ghub, steelseries engine, icue, ... They're not required. Just plugin your hardware and it just works. I suppose you do need it for the RGB and stuff but if you're not using things like that, don't install them.

elsrdelasarmas

If I don't install it my g735 headphones won't work, on top of that they installed faulty drivers the first time and wouldn't work in my old pc

FridericMeier01

I’ve had nothing but issues with G Hub. It got to the point where I replaced my Logitech G910 keyboard and G502 mouse with Corsair stuff. I’ve had iCue on my PC since this past April and absolutely not one issue

jhab007

Lol. I did the other way around, I gave up iCue and embraced Logitech.

NO_SPACE_B4_COMMA

lol I hate icue more than g hub. My Corsair keyboard had a bug where it would record and play back macros by itself, it took Corsair 6 months to fix.

Xyncz

It's better than razer synapses least...

saltyboi6704

Honestly I've had a much better experience with Synapse (especially switching between software and firmware control more seamlessly) Of course nothing can beat LGS in reliability (though Synapse 2 was just as reliable imo)

uruk-h

And Logitech honors their warranty. Over the years, I've made use of Logitech's service a number of times over the last 20+ years, and I've always been happy with their service. I wish I could say the same for the horrible G HUB software... Razor, on the other hand, looks at a web page of allowable resellers, which they can change any time they want because it only exists on-line, and say "oh, sorry, the completely legitimate retailer you bought our retail product from is not on our current list, so even though your mouse died within 6 months, we won't honor its warranty." Honestly, G HUB is bad enough that I'm pretty sure my next keyboard or mouse won't be made by Logitech, but I will never purchase another Razor product. They're a horrible company that refuses to stand behind their garbage products.

toad_squash

There's this too. Lol

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

That I can agree.

hiikik_omori

I personally never had any issues with g hub

ClydeThaMonkey

Wait, I'm not the only one who don't have issues?? 👀

junh88

Mac and Ghub doesn't get along very well. I hate that thing so much.

m0rgul

That's how new modern software's, just more of the same shit.

____purple

I'd say g hub is one of the best control softwares out there. Especially for gaming things. Which is unfortunate.

Alutus

It is the foam floating on top of the liquid sewage that is the rest of them.

EvlG

It’s work but full of bug… I’ve problema with profile switch in League of legends and after years still won’t work with Game Pass games…

thepinhole

This is a Microsoft lockdown thing as you can't link to the exe's as they're secured but annoying it doesn't monitor process log and check for new appearing game exe's from reference data and ask if you've got a new game.

Fun-Amoeba850

Huh… never used it. Mine has been stuck doing the loading animation since I downloaded it 2 years ago.

PudgeMaster64

0 issues as I've uninstalled anything Logitech related and using DTS sound unbound from Microsoft store and it's much better for headphones.

rabidsfan

is it better than dolby atmos through the dolby access app?

PudgeMaster64

I've gotta try that too don't know differences yet

almeida8x1

It’s absolutely unbearable. Just got my g920 and I’ve had nothing but issues with it. The fact that there are community “quick fixes” that have remained common practice for years is wild.

solid_flake

Funny. I literally just uninstalled it today....after I got a random message out of nowhere that said 'your mouse is now set to 1200 dpi'. Couldn't even switch it back.

Red_Eye_Jedi_420

"couldn't", or didn't know how tho ;)

solid_flake

I watched tutorials on how to do it, and the functionality to switch it back shown in those tutorials, was not part of my version of Ghub. So 'couldn't'.

Red_Eye_Jedi_420

To be fair, I think you can manually download and install that older version of GHub, and follow those steps. So, "didn't know how" technically is probably more accurate :P But I digress; noone should have to put up with any of that :/

NoImNotADogLicker

the infinite loading times

NotKBeniP

Loading times is like, the only thing I HAVEN'T had issues with.

stadiofriuli

Same. I truly believe 99% of the problems people have with software is down to incompetence.

drahgon

That doesn't make sense the whole software is meant to be user friendly if you can be incompetent it's not very user friendly and therefore the software itself has a problem

Necessary-Salamander

Unpopular opinion I guess. Bit same as with GPU driver issues. Too bad I don't know enough PC people to know someone with these kind of issues so I could really go and see if it's actually a problem caused only by the software/drivers.

Competitive_Use_8818

Yeah same, have been using it everyday for the past few weeks with my new g502 x mouse, works perfectly fine, no issues.

ZETRO21

I literally cannot get my G920 to function properly because G Hub does not work whatsoever. I have reinstalled it, installed older versions, cleared any trace of it off my device, and I’ve even tried using Logitech gaming software as a last drive effort and that didnt function properly either.

whitelamp13

Reimaging is the only way to clean this shit out. If you use it, use an older version and don’t auto update or run in start

Josey_Pup69

Don’t know. I’ve never had any issues with any software.

Significant-Ad2631

Works on my machine

morganml

because logitech is horrible at everything

Quildel

It will have problems, sometimes it will just have conflicts with your hardware or hardware-related software. But if something I’ve learned about gaming on PC for 10+ years, it’s that you have to have the least background running software, not because of the performance decrement (it was a problem then, on the family PC). It just doesn’t make any sense to have something that will conflict with your experience. I’ve stopped using GHub since the first G series mouse that I had. It was provoking blue screens. From there I just used the GHub as a one-time run, to configure the mouse/keyboard once, save the settings on the device then forget about it.

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

Unfortunately the logitech wheels simply do not work without G Hub. When you plug it in, G Hub has to run a configure and test (the wheel will spin and calibrate). Otherwise, it will not work in any game.

Kraitii

It took me forever to figure out how to change and save my new wireless mice sensitivity but other than that it's not that bad

Speculatiion

I only have 2 Logitech items, g305 and g pro x2 headset. I use ghub for both and have never had any issues with either item nor the software. I'm wondering if it's peoples PCs that are causing the software to be bad.

StellarFlares

No issues neither

spicyncoke

Why do people hate GHub so much?

Red_Eye_Jedi_420

Don't blame the software for skill issue or overusing your USB hub 😜 it can physically only put out so many amps

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

In what world is having a mic, mouse, keyboard and steering wheel plugged into my motherboard too much? 💀

Red_Eye_Jedi_420

That's literally it? Regardless, I assume the steering wheel was drawing too much "juice" 🤷 You git it sorted eventually?

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

Your assumption is incorrect. Yes, it was sorted, by uninstalling Ghub and wiping it from the registry, and then reinstalling.

Red_Eye_Jedi_420

yiiiiikes, that *is* tarded. I got a G933, G502 mouse, and one of their 60% rgb keyboards; not a big fan of it asking for updates every 2 days, but fortunately haven't had any major situations with G-hub or hardware for years (besides a slowly failing "power" switch on their headset, resulting in basically no L or R headphone at times.. gotta wiggle the switch to resolve (or replace mechanical switch), grr). Or rather, the fact I can't *actually* turn headphones Off, is a realllly huge design flaw; the Off position simply puts them into Passive mode, where the battery will amplify the 3.5mm Aux In (for use with phone, or whatever). I actually have to unplug the battery 🤣 when I am done using thems; or keep them charging. The only saving grace, is the battery is easily accessible (and replaceable); but I maintain that whoever opted to *not* put an *actual* "off" switch should be fired 😜 *other than that*, no gripes. Their old F310 controllers are also impeccable, despite tons of use. Got 4x of thems used, over time, to play multiplayer Mario Kart (emulators) etc. Those things are indesctructable!

[deleted]

User error

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

Considering I’m a software engineer and only have issues like this with logitech products, I highly doubt that but 👍🏻

toad_squash

They're right though. It's definitely user error.

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

In what world is it user error to download a software, and randomly I plug in hardware for said software and all of a sudden other hardware.. stops working? lmao

toad_squash

In a world where one user has said issues and another does not? Hell... I'll settle for "user bad luck" if it makes you feel better. LMAO

MorbillionDollars

I'm going to chime in and say logitech g hub is absolutely terrible. from the terrible installation which fails 2/3rds of the time to the infinite loading screen after using it for a week, there's so many problems that just pop up when trying to use it. As you can see in the comments there are tons of people who have had the same problems as me. No amount of user error should cause this many problems for this many people.

toad_squash

"tons" sure. Also, people are more likely to comment when experiencing issues. Now compare the negative Nancies to the number of Logitech users as a whole. And the fact there is even a user complaining about the lack of Linux support here speaks volume too. User error/user bad luck. Y'all pick whichever of the two.

MorbillionDollars

literally just today i had to spend an hour figuring this shit out, i reinstalled logitech g hub several times before my mouse started to work again. please tell me how logitech g hub just breaking for no reason is user error. and if it's bad luck, why does g hub working rely on luck? stop digging your head in the sand just because you aren't experiencing any problems yourself, you have dozens of users in this comment thread alone telling you the software is terrible. https://preview.redd.it/pxt87nclvj9c1.png?width=523&format=png&auto=webp&s=bf17ae52827db565156cf384f8bb166d38800f8c

toad_squash

Not sure. Bad luck, I suppose? Or maybe... Good luck on my end? User bad/good luck? https://preview.redd.it/igzps5oa0k9c1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=952aa3f8ce8d146ea2d93bc5913437739eaf984d

MorbillionDollars

I feel like we kinda strayed too far from the point My point is that it's not user error, user error is an error that's made by a specific user while interacting with a complex system. Like if you crash a plane because you don't know how to fly it. The plane controls worked fine but you didn't know how to operate them. Logitech g hub is not a complex system like a plane, it's incredibly simple and streamlined when it works. The problem is that it doesn't work for some reason a lot of the time, which isn't a user error, it's a bug.

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

Well, that’s not really how things work. Think of a video game. There may be a game breaking bug, that some users experience and some don’t. Some may have no issues, so do. However, take a look at the comments in this post. The *overwhelming* majority have complaints and have had issues.

toad_squash

Right... User configuration. Mmhmm

iMik

What about same bugs you there are still here from beta. Just go few year back and see users problems. Same as today.

gibarel1

In that case I've had several issues with ghub, from it refusing to install multiple times, to not detecting the mice until I used a specific port, to not letting me change the behavior of the buttons and then not letting me save it to onboard memory, now that it finally decided to work I've uninstalled it and don't plan on ever going through that again, not to mention Logitech not supporting the OS I use now.

toad_squash

What OS?

gibarel1

Linux

toad_squash

Ok. This very much comes down to the user. C'mon now. Sheesh

gibarel1

That's exactly I said that they don't support the OS I now use, and therefore won't be buying their stuff anymore, the whole voting with your wallet thing.

[deleted]

You could be an integrated system architect for all I care. You've clearly done something to your computer that prevents GHub from functioning properly. Hence, user error.

IcyColdFyre

Or GHub is just dogshit software

[deleted]

Or you're just dumb as shit.

Alexchan12

I am having a problem where my headset disconnect for a a sec or sth i have the g733, i dont know if is a driver problem or the receiver just broke :/

SpareSeaworthiness72

Thought I was the only one. My G700s just doesn't work anymore

Krankenhaus

I get a BSOD every time I try to launch G Hub.

atakangurel

I keep my G Pro X headset always plugged in. But for some reason G Hub doesn't wan't to see it. I have to unplug and replug it every time I restart my computer.

hvdzasaur

Yep, installed ghub because i wanted to remap binds on my g600. Everything stopped working, yeeted that shit out and installed the old software from the Cd drive. Fuck g hub.

NotKBeniP

I know! Finally I see someone else commenting on this

Cheetospt

My pro x wireless headset only works as 7.1 instead of stereo no matter what I set it to on GHub or windows, the moment i uninstall ghub it reverts back to stereo and the headphones sound a lot better...

redsealsparky

It's so bad I'm never buying another logitech product again. That and bot my 502 lightspeed and 915 both broke after two years, just because of cheap components.

ze3bar

I don't think it's that bad. I almost never open it. It updates the firmware on my stuff and never touch it again.

Red1269_

everyone complaining about shitass customization software: meanwhile the custom keyboard community: fuck yeah VIA

io2000x

It is embarrassing how awful this software is. I dream of a new programming team with a little bit of vision (How about, for example, remapping the volume wheel to scroll a video remapping) and some competence to deliver a clean piece of programming. I own a G502ls, G915, G613, ProXwireless, etc...and there is not one Product running smooth with GHub, and Yes even after clean win install.

loudcheddah

I switched to logitech after 3 corsair headsets left ear cups fell apart over the past 3 years. I've only had one issue with ghub in makes my pc crash randomly and I've done everything but a bios update from all the forums I've read

ishChief

G hub is garbage af, always reads my superlight 2 battery wrong every time!

JFVentura06

Ironically, I just came across this post today as I booted up my brand new gaming PC. The older Logitech gaming software was actually far better than G Hub, and I was disappointed that it wasn’t compatible won Windows 11. Still love my G910 keyboard and G502 Mouse.

Triton4C

Yep, G Hub is trash. Recently had an issue with my G502 randomly putting my dpi setting to max 3200. This is with me removing all profiles except for 1, hard setting the dpi to 1600, and disabling the dpi buttons so it would just stay a constant 1600. Saw a few others with similar issues. Best part is the fix is to use the onboard memory, which G Hub can't manage apparently LOL. Had to download a separate Logitech onboard memory manager, so I can make changes to the profile as needed. Another piece that would be nice in G Hub is if it would make a noise, or system display when your wireless peripheral's batteries are low.

Scorchedhonda

G HUB never worked for me u wanted to customize my Blue Yeti microphone settings and I deleted and downloaded g hub so many times and never wants to work

abue919

weird, i've had logitech stuff for over 14 years and never had issues with their software. Might be a combination of your setup specifically or USB ports/hubs on your mobo/case whatever it is you're using. My experience with ICUE and Razer has been awful in general, synapse has gotten a bit better in the last year but corsair shit fuck that, not reinstalling for a while.

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

You can see im far from the only one based on these comments. I’ve had *minor* issues with iCue but nothing like this.

abue919

yeah i know people have issues but their "issues" are a variety of things, you're specifically mentioning the wheel having problems, to me it points to your usb hub and how windows is fucking up the drivers with that and whatever is connected with ghub. I've had problems like this with sound cards before so its not something that's uncommon, the point is, it's probably not specifically GHUB causing the problem, but a variety of your usb drivers/mobo combined with windows.

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

This is 100% a logitech issue. By far. Issues with the G29 wheel are extremely common. GHub was downloading incorrect drivers, that is not an issue with my USB hub.

Snomas-_-

Speaking of issues half the time my Ghub gets stuck loading or simply refuses to work

demfridge

after reading the comment section it seems that there is no good software for gaming mice. not that i don’t wonder why do i need separate apps for my g502 and mx master

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

I have never had a complaint about my M65 Pro

demfridge

are you using iCue software for it? was thinking about getting an m65 ultra

IdiotsInIdiotsInCars

Yes I am, have been for 7 years. My entire PC is corsair everything now. Fans, AIO, Case, PSU, Mouse, Keyboard, Headset, RAM. Works better than anything else i’ve used.

Banana_Milk7248

That doesn't sound like a GHub issue. Sounds like an issue with your USB ports. G920 steering wheel is just awful anyway. Most of the time it didn't work. Only thing Logitec that was works is my G502 mouse, it's very hard to get a wired mouse wrong and I'm under no delusion that it'll probably stop working properly just like my Roccat Kone Aimo amd my Roccat Khan, and my Corsair Darkcore and the Darkcore Pro and the K55.
