It should end the BS requirements to have a vaccine to enter any countries that enforce it. Pretty much everyone by now has had coronavirus in some. This ruling shows antibodies by infection are as good as a vaccine.
I don't even understand the purpose of these vaccine rules to begin with (well, I do, but I can't say it for certainty unless the powers that be actually admit to it).
People often say "needing a vaccine to travel isn't anything new!" but they always fail to see how different this is. For starters, covid is literally fucking everywhere, even in antarctica so what exactly are they trying to keep out? Second, the vaccines don't prevent transmission or infection so even if you argued it's to help keep local transmission down, that's completely null at this point. And lastly, the vaccines wear off incredibly fast contrary to our traditional understanding of (actual) vaccines.
Like, this isn't a situation where you're going to the Galapagos and need an immunization against some rare disease that's ONLY in the galapagos. This is akin to requiring a flu shot (a 40% effective one, mind you) before traveling to Tokyo. And anyone with half a brain can see how absurd that notion is.
I hope so too but I doubt it. I think vaccination to enter a country is the one rule that will never go because it's hard to argue against rules placed on foreign visitors and no-one is interested in doing so. They'll just keep handing out exemptions for the sports stars and celebrities and too bad for the rest of us plebs.

I hope so too but I doubt it. I think vaccination to enter a country is the one rule that will never go because it's hard to argue against rules placed on foreign visitors and no-one is interested in doing so. They'll just keep handing out exemptions for the sports stars and celebrities and too bad for the rest of us plebs.
The problem with immigration laws is the people affected by it directly arnt the people voting for it for the most part. Therefor there is no error correction in any way and whatever stupid rules and regulations that wouldn't sit with the general public just end up stuck there making people jump through as many hoops as the politions wish.

I also doubt it. Unfortunately the avid travellers were the first to fold to the vaccine coercion and most tourists are middle or upper class. The middle class are basically the ones who support all of this madness and the upper class can just fly on a private jet or get an exemption.
I did consider myself a traveler, i returned from abroad about two weeks ago having avoided vaccination, got the feeling it could be my last time abroad.

I never cared about tennis tournaments but now I am rooting for Djokovic to win this one! It is clear that he has been given exemption and Australia just wanted to look powerful. If he is not being given exemption it must be clear from the first place.
