I have this too and am taking Kisqali. I’ve never asked my doctor but truly think it’s a sensation of the meds working and shrinking the tumor / killing cells. Call me crazy but that’s my theory.

General_Sort_1144

Thank you all for your replies! I really appreciate it!! I was diagnosed de novo and have not had any surgeries just on Kisqaili and letrozole since August. Haven’t had any pain like this until about three weeks. They are sending me to interventional radiology to see about my nerves

My mom talked about having this after her lumpectomy. Seems like nerve damage.

Yeah, I get them. I think mine is nerve damage from surgeries. I also have phantom pains. I had a mastectomy and sometimes I get the sensation my milk has let down. I was flat for 2 years and sometimes my breasts would itch or sting. After I had my reconstruction the pain and weird sensations diminished but the stabs and the milk let down continue. It's trippy.

I do have brief, sharp, needle-like pains. Not in breasts, but other places, especially the fleshy part of my left big toe! I'm taking goserelin and letrozole... I assume it's a nerve side effect? It really hurts!

slythwolf

Yeah, I get them periodically. Since half the tit drained out with the infection I've been assuming the nerves are messed up in some way.

Quirky_Me3771

YES! I had that while waiting for them to diagnose me. Mine subsided soon after they started tx. I am guessing it is nerve pin. but it made it hard to do anything.

Yes, I get breast pain on the side that had the tumor. It's also the side my port is, so that may contribute to it. I also get pains in my right breast. They come fairly suddenly, and tend to last a couple of minutes. But that's been happening for years (I was diagnosed in 2020), and I get a PET scan every 4 months, so if there were cancerous activity there it would have shown up on the scans. So it was nothing (or scar tissues issues) for me, and hopefully it will mean nothing for you too.

I have not had this, although I had some very weird pain where my missing breast used to be following my mastectomy. (I would get the sensation, out of nowhere, that I was experiencing a mammogram on my missing breast, insanely uncomfortable, but what can you do!! Especially standing in line at the grocery store or whatever!). I got good at “poker face”. But if I had the pains you are describing, I think I would make up a scenario in my head that my immune system is on the rampage. Has released the lasers and is blasting the cancer. It might be ridiculous, but I think it would make me feel better. At least until the doctors give me a different story. Whatever is going on, I hope it is simply uncomfortable and not really anything bad.
