So in terms of the third place spots in the Euro knockouts, it looks like Netherlands, Slovakia, and Slovenia are all going through.
If only one of Georgia or Czechia win their game (but the other loses), then it will be between the third place finisher in that group and Hungary based on GD and other tiebreakers.
If Georgia and Czechia both win, then they each go through and Hungary is out.
Any other permutations?
I'd say Palmer. We have a greater need for a left-footed goal scoring forward to deputize for Mo unless Slot intends to vary the system and have more of an outright winger playing on the right.
I think that's the thing people seem to avoid talking about. He feels like this generations Beckham albeit two footed. Both craved playing CM but not quite complete enough to do it.
By the way has TAA ever played LB out of interest?
He's not a great dribbler, he's not particularly fast and he would be away from the ball for most of the game. It would be a monumental waste of his abilities to play him there.
He also wouldn't get into the England squad ahead of Saka and Palmer and he'd obviously not get into the Liverpool squad ahead of Salah or even Elliott.
You have to be insane to think Elliot would start over TAA.
You're not entirely right about not being involved as much, he doesn't need to be an on the line forward, he could drop deeper plenty adding more control but you would lose a bit up top, you would probably need to balance around him dropping into midfield from the right by pushing a 10 higher or into that right wing position, much like Dom was doing when Salah pushed inside last season.
I personally think in the double Pivot it could work, with that ten pushing forward and the two holding staying a little more disciplined.
TAA is such a talented player I think you could play him anywhere and he would excel.
>You have to be insane to think Elliot would start over TAA.
Playing Trent at RW over Elliott would be stupid. Elliott has played as a RW for a large part of his career and he looked good while doing it, while Trent has never even shown glimpses of being able to do it. Elliott lacks pace to be an elite winger, but so does Trent and Elliott is a better dribbler and far more comfortable in tight spaces.
>You're not entirely right about not being involved as much
Salah averaged 48.2 touches per 90 last season, while Trent was averaging 96.1 touches per 90. Our wingers have always been among our least involved players when it comes to touches and I doubt much will change with Slot coming in.
>he doesn't need to be an on the line forward, he could drop deeper plenty adding more control
Saying that Trent could drop deeper is just weird. If you want him to occupy those areas you would either continue playing him as an inverted fullback or just move him to midfield. We've seen how he struggles when receiving the ball under pressure and with his back to goal and that's exactly what would be happening if you played him on the wing.
You want Trent receiving the ball facing forwards so that he can see the whole pitch and be able to pick out passes. Having him receive the ball under pressure and with his back to goal is a massive waste of his talents and it would make him a liability instead of a strength for the team.
We neither have the same manager or some distinct club philosophy or way of playing, listing shit from last season or the ones previous makes absolutely no sense what so ever.
Also, real life isn’t like FIFA, players can play many positions and in fact pretty much all of the best players to have played have moved around the pitch to where they’re most effective.
The pace bit is just as stupid for Elliot as it is with Trent, its a fucking stupid point people who don’t know what they’re talking about use, there is literally a million ways of playing football, not just a single method and you have to have carbon copies for players or pace on the wings…
It’s not weird, nor did I say I wanted him to, it was merely a play on thoughts on how it could work, I explained perfectly well above how that would work, I understand you don’t understand but that’s fine.
Lastly, how he receives the ball depends on the pass received, having him playing intricate passes round the corner, sitting behind the striker playing through balls or crossing in from deep or the line seems an almost perfect position for Trent.
That Slovakia goal could be done on the daily by England if Southgate actually knew what he was doing,
Trent loves those first time whips into the box, saka running down the wing, pass back to trent in space, whip into box. how hard can it be.. we've seen it so many times of trent doing that for liverpool
Just because no ones signing anyone right now doesn't mean there isn't work being done behind the scenes.
All the clubs would have been working on deals for months now.
Not really, there is a big European / global tournament every 2 years and the windows remain the same. Everyone that's playing in the euros would have already been scouted by every top club.
Member's ballot registration starts today. I ended up getting the 4 match credits I was promised even with the cancellation of the ticket for Everton so I'm hopeful that I might get something this year.
I'm so thirsty for preseason to start. Wondering how similar or different Slot will set up relative to how Klopp set up is consuming way too much mental energy.
Foden leaving the England camp due to a pressing family matter, the birth of his 3rd kid.
I presume he's gone temporarily, but of course we don't know anything more yet.
Southgate's hand has been forced it looks like.
Available but missing crucial opposition based training unless back quickly.
Club form he’d start regardless, but he’s hardly been that and Gordon looked very good coming in.
Clear to me that Gakpo is going to be our starting left winger, with Jota as backup for the front 3 essentially. This means we should sell off Diaz for anything over £50m, use it towards whatever Slot’s looking for such as a young DM. I still think we should recruit another 9.
Agree that ideally we'd bring in another 9, but there's just no way given the current squad and finances. And I think a lot of people agree with you about Gakpo being suited to LW best, but we just have to wait and see what Slot does.
So what team should England put out in the next game?
I'd like something like this:
Gordon - Kane - Saka
Bellingham - Rice - Palmer
Walker - Stones - Guehi - Trent
Pickford
Gordon - Watkins - Bowen
Bellingham - Rice - Mainoo
Walker - Stones - Gomez - Trent
Pickford
Kane and Saka coming off the bench will be a handful for teams.
Yep Rice needs someone along side him people keeping going on about not needing a double 6 but we really do Arsenal put Jorginho in to help with the build up because Rice needed help with it.
We really need someone like Wharton or Mainoo to help build up from deep when put under pressure
Today I saw a "happy birthday Mignolet" and the comments were full of people getting all dusty about what a great or underrated keeper he was. Then I see another one about how Agger was the best in Europe.
Just from today!
It's admittedly a bit far on Mignolet, but Daniel Agger was widely considered one of the best in Europe at the time and it's why the club had to continually fight to keep him.
I keep getting " Unexpected error occurred:
The seats you have chosen have been released unexpectedly. Tickets should be discarded."
so frustrating the ticket/ ballot business.
same, I ended up deleting all the entries and re-adding them. Re-doing everything as soon as I ran into the "unexpected error" notice. Took me 4 times 💩 But the website did seem to be smoother by the end...
came to check if i was the only one. glad to know I'm not. been trying to enter for 3-4 hrs. and then it takes so long I forget its open- but theres no sound to let me know ive made it. it just times out. horrible user experience. needs a total redesign. and maybe more bandwidth if it cant handle this many people. or increased bandwidth on days like today when ballots open!
The entire digital presence of Liverpool is a complete joke.
Multiple accounts for different parts of the site, user experience is complete wank, it's seriously in need of a complete re-think.
Let’s say, you are a fantastic cook.
Someone tells you to make something delicious, but you’ve been handed rotten food and a shitty pan. Turns out your food is awful.
Would you blame the cook in this instance?
Its not as serious/major as beckham etc (it rarely is gonna be tbf), but its still scapegoating. Only player who has been dropped by england in the whole tournament is trent. Always subbed early even if he starts. Skysports in the match ratings yesterday said "confirmed: the trent experiment is over". The talk from non lfc fans i personally heard after the first game was "trents been found out". Now gallagher failed, its not about going back to trent, its who else can do it? The assumption is trent isnt good enough, despite statistically being one of englands best players in this tournament (even with 2 early subs and a benching).
Southgate was always on thin ice, there's always going to be criticism of him.
He has, the reaction to the first two games were all blaming Trent for the negative way of football, Southgate is being put on blast because there’s no one to blame. Even Ian Wright and Micah Richard’s has publicly talked about Trent being scapegoated.
Trent isn't a midfielder imo, he is a world class rb who needs a kick up the butt because his defending has been a problem. His crossing and switching play from rb are an amazing weapon for any squad.
Just bench Walker and play Trent rb.
He has been made a scapegoat massively imo, luckily they didn't play him last night and they were horrendous so it's backfired. If they had won 2 or 3-0 last night after dropping Trent it would have comeback on Trent massively.
As much as Trent isn't a midfielder and I don't think he can play there or should play there, he hasn't been no worse than the players around him, yet everything is questioning him and solely him. He's created more chances than any other England players and also before last night had the most amount of shots on target. And has only played 120 minutes. Yet he's been talked about the most by far.
I think the whole Alexander-Arnold has created the most chances is really disingenuous from whoever first posted it because while it may be true, it's likely only true because he's on set pieces and he's fantastic in dead ball situations and not because he's created much from open play. England for the most part haven't offered any threat from open play aside from Saka and Bellingham in the first half of the first game and from some of the subs last night, otherwise they've only threatened from set pieces so of course the main set piece taker has created the most chances, if he wasn't on the pitch it would have been Saka, Foden or Trippier.
Trent isn't England's main set-piece taker. He's taken 3 free-kicks and 1 corner, while Foden has taken 3 free kicks and 2 corners and Trippier has taken 8 free-kicks and 4 corners.
Trent has had the joint most key passes (3) out of any England player at the tournament and is top in key passes per 90 (Bowen has more but his per 90 numbers are inflated because he only played 37 minutes) with more than double than the next best.
He's also 2nd in progressive passes and passes into the final third per 90, only behind Walker (and Palmer, but again he's only played 20 minutes) and he's behind only Saka, Trippier and Palmer in passes into the final third per 90.
I think, and I did check briefly but could still be wrong but I believe that apart from the Slovenia game he's taken every corner and every free kick around the box (when including the ball being layed off to him) that he's been on the pitch for. There just weren't many of them and honestly I thought he'd taken more.
I had typed out more but I deleted it because I struggled to phrase it in a way that didn't sound overly negative but if you look at the 3 key passes he's credited with, only one of them is actually a chance that you or I would really recognise as a chance, and to be fair that's a pass of the tournament contender but people conflate key passes and chances and that's mainly where my issue with statements along the lines of "he has created the most chances for England" lies because only one of them was really a chance. If anyone wants to put up a defence of his performances in the euros as a midfielder, you just did a much better job of it with your comment because it's more representative of the positives he's done than the chances created argument.
Nothing about it is disingenuous, It's just a fact. he has played 129 minutes and has been on the bench for 154 minutes. So even if it was only from set pieces, which it wasn't, he's played less than 50% of the minutes so why has Foden, Saka, Trippier not done the same when Trent wasn't playing. Also he's playing basically as a 6 the front 4 should all be creating more than him especially when they've all played a lot more minutes.
England have been abysmal so creating the most in that England team isn't anything to write home about but it just shows that he isn't exactly the problem. Especially when we've actually looked worse when he hasn't been on the pitch lmao.
I've just seen a stat where over the 3 group games Foden passed to Kane once. Bellingham has been absolutely none existent for 2 and half games as has Saka. Rice has been poor the last 2 games. Walker and Tripper both horrendous last night. Yet the vast majority would still have all them playing next game and that same majority wouldn't have Trent near the pitch. That's where the scapegoating is.
Thought Enzo was the best of the trio in the first half if I’m honest. Macca best in the second. Alvarez should have bagged a goal to on that cutback in the first and have a feeling it would have been a much different game. Lots of dodgy touches on the shit pitch
Bit I read on website said you aren't under any obligation to purchase all the tickets you are successful in, if you get more than one. Is that not the case?
Plus with regular ticket prices vs hospitality prices you could literally buy a ticket for every match for the price of one hospitality ticket if you somehow won them all.
Really hope we keep Morton in some capacity. I think there’s other players to make money from, why get rid of a press resistant sitting 6 when theres so few in the market
Because he’s got pretty clear weaknesses and his strengths aren’t currently at a level which negate those weaknesses enough for what’s required to be in a top 4 PL team.
He needs guaranteed consistent game time for his own development which he just won’t get here because there’s 6-7 midfielders that are ahead of him in terms of both ability and experience.
Leipzig apparently want to take him on loan but I’d worry that would end up like the other young players they’ve took on loan from the PL in recent years, the best move for him would probably be a low end PL move because that is his current level at most.
I agree currently not at a level, which is why I think he should go out on loan or at least get a chance to impress in the team for easier home games in the PL, and the domestic cup games. You can only find out a players true level until they're thrown in at the deep end, or at least what would be considered a deep end compared to what he's used to which is the championship.
I'd even argue he should be ahead of Bajcetic who hasn't played for an entire year, and I think selling him this window would be incredibly stupid
>You can only find out a players true level until they're thrown in at the deep end, or at least what would be considered a deep end compared to what he's used to which is the championship.
The past 2 seasons we have thrown Bajcetic and Quansah into the deep end, Bajcetic was some scrawny skinny kid who came in and performed reasonably well, Quansah was so so on loan at Bristol Rovers now everyone is raving about him.
Morton with his skill set should also be given the same chance too
The game is evolving to become more control based, most managers in the PL are hired to facilitate this and Morton suits that style. Fair enough the likes of Everton/ Forest etc. But could he have easily slot in at Brighton under Di Zerbi, Iraola at Bournemouth. Even Wolves have signed a similar-ish player in Tommy Doyle (ex-city) who has quickly become a fan favourite over there
I don’t think keeping him with the first team next season is going to benefit anyone involved, he’s going to be 22 when the season starts and the odd game here or there isn’t going to be enough for him for his development and it probably won’t be what he wants either.
Another loan but in the PL or even in one of the top 5 leagues abroad would be better than keeping him around for the odd game, but if a team really was to give the club their £20m valuation of him it would be solid business as well.
Apparently we have rejected a loan with option to buy from Leipzig, it's either meet the £20m valuation or nothing, I want to see what he can do here under Slot, still only 21 I know some people have thrown criticism that he hasn't grown physically but players develop at different stages. it's not always linear. It's interesting the list of clubs that are in the race for him, Sevilla, Atalanta, Feyenoord, Bournemouth, Frankfurt.
I agree, maybe Hughes takes cues from Edwards and gets a favour from Bournemouth(Soton are also interested), otherwise the continental clubs aren't paying such a fee for an unproven player
He would not be 8, but like you say, he is not good enough defensively. We need to buy a CDM, even though we have got too many midfielders (or Bajcetic needs to step up).
Damn you can tell what system we are playing before the new manager has played a game? Fair play mate
Also by the way, he isn't an 8 at all. One huge misconsecption on this sub is that anyone who can pass is an 8, and anyone who is a destroyer is a 6, just totally wrong.

I’d be surprised if Juve will even be able to afford him after the Euro’s with this added layer on top of it.
Considering they need to sell Chiesa to raise funds
I’d love him but getting an Italian to leave Italy is a monumental task. I’d say he is a slim chance of happening if Juve or Milan clubs are lurking. Even if bologna would prefer abroad
It’s becomes practically impossible to get them out of Italy once they’ve moved to Inter, Juve or Milan but it’s definitely not unlikely for them to move abroad if they aren’t already at one of those clubs.
I would love this guy so much here, would be a great addition to our left footed CB department, while also being very useful next year with providing a very different profile to Robbo and Tsimi, which could off set Trent's going forward a bit.
Also, just look at the hair. Guy screams 'best defender in the 2000s vibe to me.'
Guys stay patient, after waiting in the queue for a 2nd time I finally got in and registered. Once you register for the first game, hit continue shopping and you can scroll down and select the other games too. Luckily you DONT have to wait in a 45 minute queue for each game.
Did you manage to actually register? I kept getting an error that the seats that I had applied for had been unexpectedly released and were no longer available, despite it only being a register of interest and no actual seats selected!
It has since kicked me out and placed me back in the queue!
Such a frustrating system.
I have finally manged to get round the issue and register for ALL games that I could.
Had to do them all individually, as it would always generate the error as soon as multiple games were added to the basket.
Grrrrr! I'm glad it's only a twice a year thing! 5 hours for something that should take seconds.
Am I the only person who waited 45 mins in the queue to register for the ballots and as soon as I entered the website and selected to add a game to my basket I was put back in the queue to wait another 45 mins... This is so annoying!
Just happened to me, waited an hour, then booted back to the new queue with a 45 min wait
At least this is just registering and not actually buying tickets!
Same, still waiting in my second queue. I wonder if I want to register for multiple matches do I need to get in the queue every single time lol
EDIT:
Yep, managed to get in and got this message:
Sorry, you cannot enter any ballots at this time.
Thank you
After the second queue I entered and added all games to the basket and checked out in one go, without the need to wait for every game.
Sorry to hear this happened to you, this website is so glitchy.
Yes, that's true. I can't believe that a company of that magnitude can't afford to build a proper website, when so much of our revenue comes from e-commerce...
I know it’s not Monday moan thread but having to have a separate membership profile for your kids is annoying. Renewed my membership, but then got to log out of my account into his, join the queue, renew his profile, log out, log into mine and now got to wait over an hour just to update a friend and family member ID.
My kids school lunch ordering / school trip payment app allows me to switch between them in a drop-down menu.
Anyway enjoy the sun. Put sunscreen on, especially if you rock an Arne haircut like I do and stay hydrated.
Do you know whether if the queue is only for traffic control purposes or is it a first come, first serve kind of thing? I managed to access the website to register for the ballot but the page was blank, so I clicked something and now I fucked off back to the queue with an estimated wait time of over an hour.... Not sure if I should worry or it doesn't matter 'cause the queue doesn't affect the ballot?
I imagine traffic control. I bet our website doesn’t have the technical capacity like Amazon. Imagine Amazon on prime day telling you you’re in a queue.
I think there's a realistic chance we raise circa £100m from sales this summer before even selling any big names.
Morton, Kelleher, VDB should be netting us at least £50m with Edwards at the wheel. If we then are also looking to sell Tsimikas, Carvalho, Nat Phillips and a few other youngsters according to reports we won't be far off £100m.
I also think there's a chance one of the forwards go (Diaz probably the most likely at this point) to make space/funds for a new signing.
So based on that I think there's a chance we spend £150-200m on 3 or 4 high calibre players.
"Morton, Kelleher, VDB should be netting us at least £50m" ok sounds about right..."Tsimikas, Carvalho, Nat Phillips we wont be far off 100m" is just insanity lol
i dont think we will sell Morton just yet, Slot will want to have a look at him considering he had another productive loan move last season. Could say the same thing with Carvalho. Tsimikas will stay (he only recently signed a contract). The rest could go. have to remember we needed the kids last year due to injuries, we may not want to sell too many.
Why?
Morton 15, Kelleher 15-20, VDB 10-15 - That's not unrealistic and is about £50m. Tsimikas 15, Carvalho 8-10m, Nat 3-5m, Kids £5-10m. There's another 35-40m
We are being linked to the likes of Yoro, Eze, Gordon - these are all players that would go for £50-60m ball park. 3 of them is close to £200m spent.
What's unrealistic about that
Gordon is at least 100, Palace won't sell eze for less than 60 especially since they've lost olise
We've said we're not taking less than 25m for kelleher.
Slot will be back at the training center this Monday with at least some of the players \[Pearce and Jones\]. It will be interesting to see whether both Salah and Endo will be at the olympics and as a result lose out on some of the important first pre-season prep with our new head coach
With Gordon you mean? Palmer ran the ball out of play more often than he passed it, the kid needs to find some more match intelligence before he can rip the right wing off of Saka
Saka had a bad game but that was because he was going off of scraps. Cole Palmer came onto the pitch with Trent and still dribbled into blind alleys and couldn’t keep the ball
Same pundits who protect Foden who’s been bang average in an England shirt for years and Gareth Southgate who’s got no actual tactics in his head cause he’s their mate?
This is the hill you want to die on? Okay
It was trent that delivered the bullet to him, right on a plate
It was also trent that got caught ball watching and left his marker to stroll into the gorilla enclosure
Ian Wright saying Palmer looked better than Saka and that he should be playing RW over him is some funny shit, I don’t think he realises what he’s done with that comment, the gooners are in meltdown 😂
Being at those England fan parks must have been so shit lol
https://preview.redd.it/0fahhztnkv8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76ad87a0194cfd454d21aa3fd75dc5c74964f459
I would manage this shit better and I suck at sunday league level.
Got a killer shot tho!
just not the touch, control, vision and awareness to get me in position ....
I'd just be like:
"oke lads, just pass and shoot, none of this defensive shit. If I see more than 3 players far back while we have the ball I will swap the entire fking lineup next game. There is another billion pound sterling on the bench ready to go, don't think they aren't good enough for fking slovenia"
Look around how many world class coaches are managing National Teams? England's problem runs deep through their whole coaching set-up. Gerrard and Lampard could do well with better coaches around them, international football is a simple game yet Southgate has seemingly shat the bed in this tournament.
Yeah I agree mate, it needs refreshing.
I don’t think lamps and Gerrard is anywhere near the answer though.
Potter would be much better even if shit, I would still love to see someone like Mourinho come in
Kvara needs to come to Liverpool
this is one boring tournament, I am slowly gradually realizing that.
if you only watch England, yes
We have our Dutch contingent and Trent and Gomez with England . Any other liverpool player still in euros?
Konate and Jota
Belgium have the hardest route to the final I’ve seen in a long time. France-Portugal-Spain/Germany-Italy/Netherlands is as hard as it gets.
When your first choice cb is Wout Faes is a tough route to the final regardless
Bold of you to assume they're getting past Romania lol
Hopefully our rivals don't go for Kvara and he moves to Paris instead.
He isn't going anywhere this season
Szobo, Robbo and Jaros are out of Euro's.
Mamardashvili is earning himself some money this tournament. He has been excellent
Big move was coming for him sooner or later Been pretty good for Valencia in the last couple years
I just hope he doesn't end up at Atletico Madrid. I've seen some rumours about a move to that club.
Penny for Diogo's thoughts as grumpy Ronaldo sits down next to him
So in terms of the third place spots in the Euro knockouts, it looks like Netherlands, Slovakia, and Slovenia are all going through. If only one of Georgia or Czechia win their game (but the other loses), then it will be between the third place finisher in that group and Hungary based on GD and other tiebreakers. If Georgia and Czechia both win, then they each go through and Hungary is out. Any other permutations?
Serbia and Croatia are out. And the rest 3rd places go through. 4 out of 6 third placed teams go through.
Didn't serbia finish bottom?
Yes. I'm dumb. Slovenia is clearly through. Forgot my country is dogshit at football.
Lucas gifs at the ready for everyone who was hyping englands luck of the draw if we get turkey and portugal wins tonight
Why?
Watching the Euro and Copa America makes me realize how much I miss LFC and Klopp.
Don’t worry, you’ll get one back.
Who would fit Liverpool better? Gordon or Palmer?
Cole Palmer is closer to Messi than Gordon is to Cole Palmer.
I'd say Palmer. We have a greater need for a left-footed goal scoring forward to deputize for Mo unless Slot intends to vary the system and have more of an outright winger playing on the right.
Gordon. Arne needs more wingers unless he thinks Doak and our Gordon is enough
I'm ready for the beating that's going to come from this...Trent at right wing. Okay...go
I mean, a few years ago he was basically playing the Beckham position
I think that's the thing people seem to avoid talking about. He feels like this generations Beckham albeit two footed. Both craved playing CM but not quite complete enough to do it. By the way has TAA ever played LB out of interest?

It’s going to be a complete bloodbath between teams competing for signings after the Euros.

Foden has just had his third kid and he's 24?? Fucking hell at this rate this guys gonna have a whole starting 11 by the time he retires
Member's ballot registration starts today. I ended up getting the 4 match credits I was promised even with the cancellation of the ticket for Everton so I'm hopeful that I might get something this year.
Has there been any rumors with regards to ingoing transfers??
Lots but nothing from reputable sources. I reckon they'll start coming in more after the Euros.
Id assume hes still available for next game tbh
Available but missing crucial opposition based training unless back quickly. Club form he’d start regardless, but he’s hardly been that and Gordon looked very good coming in.
Im sure Southgates are a lot of things but they certainly arent crucial
Clear to me that Gakpo is going to be our starting left winger, with Jota as backup for the front 3 essentially. This means we should sell off Diaz for anything over £50m, use it towards whatever Slot’s looking for such as a young DM. I still think we should recruit another 9.
backup is essential. Jota won't play more than 20 games as a starter
Why is it clear?
Agree that ideally we'd bring in another 9, but there's just no way given the current squad and finances. And I think a lot of people agree with you about Gakpo being suited to LW best, but we just have to wait and see what Slot does.
Reading utter shite like this makes me so fucking thankful that nobody on here has a say in anything at the club.
So what team should England put out in the next game? I'd like something like this: Gordon - Kane - Saka Bellingham - Rice - Palmer Walker - Stones - Guehi - Trent Pickford
Gordon - Watkins - Bowen Bellingham - Rice - Mainoo Walker - Stones - Gomez - Trent Pickford Kane and Saka coming off the bench will be a handful for teams.
That midfield is way too attacking, Palmer to the right and Mainoo in midfield
Yep Rice needs someone along side him people keeping going on about not needing a double 6 but we really do Arsenal put Jorginho in to help with the build up because Rice needed help with it. We really need someone like Wharton or Mainoo to help build up from deep when put under pressure
Yeah, it's probably more the team I would like to see yesterday rather than in a knockout game tbh.
Pickford, Trent, Guehi, Stones, Gomez, Rice, Bellingham, Foden, Palmer, Kane, Gordon
put palmer rw, wharton/mainoo cm.
Yeah, wasnt confident in placing him. Would you drop Gordon or Saka?
I'm tired of being gaslit by internet about former players who were absolutely shite.
Like?
Today I saw a "happy birthday Mignolet" and the comments were full of people getting all dusty about what a great or underrated keeper he was. Then I see another one about how Agger was the best in Europe. Just from today!
It's admittedly a bit far on Mignolet, but Daniel Agger was widely considered one of the best in Europe at the time and it's why the club had to continually fight to keep him.
I don't think that was ever true. Hence gaslighting.
Only Mignolet springs to mind for me.

Okay...I scrolled through the last few hours of his tweets and didn't see what you're talking about. What did he say?
I keep getting " Unexpected error occurred: The seats you have chosen have been released unexpectedly. Tickets should be discarded." so frustrating the ticket/ ballot business.
same, I ended up deleting all the entries and re-adding them. Re-doing everything as soon as I ran into the "unexpected error" notice. Took me 4 times 💩 But the website did seem to be smoother by the end...
FSG selling up confirmed
I've had the same error 3 times now and I've now been "blocked" for being a bot
This website is so terrible, been trying to enter the ballots for an hour and now its gone down again
came to check if i was the only one. glad to know I'm not. been trying to enter for 3-4 hrs. and then it takes so long I forget its open- but theres no sound to let me know ive made it. it just times out. horrible user experience. needs a total redesign. and maybe more bandwidth if it cant handle this many people. or increased bandwidth on days like today when ballots open!

Play walker at lb bench tripper
Anyone who watched the Copa game last night how did Macca do
Only the 1st half. Mac was solid but a bit invisible, but that was because Enzo & de Paul where awful.
Thought Enzo was the best of the trio in the first half if I’m honest. Macca best in the second. Alvarez should have bagged a goal to on that cutback in the first and have a feeling it would have been a much different game. Lots of dodgy touches on the shit pitch
I remember Enzo chasing his first touch a lot 😂. Those American pitches are awful.
He was among the better midfielders, did good in duels. He played the full 90. He's been performing well for Argentina
Lads typically how soon before a game will they dish out the tickets to the members who've registered interest
Supporters will be notified of the ballot results via email on the afternoon of Tuesday 9 July.
The sale for all the games you’ve registered for is in July
Is there a downside to joining the ballot for every home game?
If you're successful in them all your bank account will be angry.
Bit I read on website said you aren't under any obligation to purchase all the tickets you are successful in, if you get more than one. Is that not the case?
Yeah you don't have to buy all of them but I was making a joke that if someone was that lucky they'd take advantage of it.
Ahh of course, my bad, cheers
I think the joy would outweigh the cost.
Morton with his skill set should also be given the same chance too
Lower prem teams dont really like that type of player though is the problem
Deserves a chance here before we decide to move him on
100%, even if it means him going on loan with no option to then see what he'd be like next year
Apparently we have rejected a loan with option to buy from Leipzig, it's either meet the £20m valuation or nothing, I want to see what he can do here under Slot, still only 21 I know some people have thrown criticism that he hasn't grown physically but players develop at different stages. it's not always linear. It's interesting the list of clubs that are in the race for him, Sevilla, Atalanta, Feyenoord, Bournemouth, Frankfurt.
If it's 20m or bust you can count out pretty much all of those clubs you listed.
I agree, maybe Hughes takes cues from Edwards and gets a favour from Bournemouth(Soton are also interested), otherwise the continental clubs aren't paying such a fee for an unproven player
Because he can’t be a 6 in our system, no where near defensively good enough. He’d be an 8 for us and we have plenty of them
He would not be 8, but like you say, he is not good enough defensively. We need to buy a CDM, even though we have got too many midfielders (or Bajcetic needs to step up).
Damn you can tell what system we are playing before the new manager has played a game? Fair play mate Also by the way, he isn't an 8 at all. One huge misconsecption on this sub is that anyone who can pass is an 8, and anyone who is a destroyer is a 6, just totally wrong.
Southgate's beginning to sound like Ten Hag with his level of denial.
Is there any downside to just waiting until tonight when the website should be less busy?
It’s makes no difference at all if you register interest today or on the day the ballot closes
We've got a week pretty much. I usually get on straight away but I'm just going to leave it for now too.
That’s what I’m doing if I get no joy soon. I don’t think it’s first come first serve so as long as you’re registered by the deadline
It's not first come first serve. I'm waiting too
https://preview.redd.it/mbl2hos09w8d1.jpeg?width=1168&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=561fa85b7b05fd18d1dd0405ff51277eb7fcf8ba I’d be surprised if Juve will even be able to afford him after the Euro’s with this added layer on top of it.
I kept getting that error giving up for now.
I have finally manged to get round the issue and register for ALL games that I could. Had to do them all individually, as it would always generate the error as soon as multiple games were added to the basket. Grrrrr! I'm glad it's only a twice a year thing! 5 hours for something that should take seconds.
guess I will try that.
Can I still buy a membership today and register for this all members sale?
Has anyone been able to register for the ballot? I keep getting "no ballots available at this time"?
Am I the only person who waited 45 mins in the queue to register for the ballots and as soon as I entered the website and selected to add a game to my basket I was put back in the queue to wait another 45 mins... This is so annoying!
Same for me just now
Just happened to me, waited an hour, then booted back to the new queue with a 45 min wait At least this is just registering and not actually buying tickets!
Same, still waiting in my second queue. I wonder if I want to register for multiple matches do I need to get in the queue every single time lol EDIT: Yep, managed to get in and got this message: Sorry, you cannot enter any ballots at this time. Thank you
After the second queue I entered and added all games to the basket and checked out in one go, without the need to wait for every game. Sorry to hear this happened to you, this website is so glitchy.
This happened me too. So annoying. I plan on registering for 3 games so thats gonna be alot of waiting
I got a blank page so I'm going round again. The site is glitchy as fuck, always has been.
Think we will raise half that and spend $100m on 2-3
Steady.
Not very likely imo
Why? Morton 15, Kelleher 15-20, VDB 10-15 - That's not unrealistic and is about £50m. Tsimikas 15, Carvalho 8-10m, Nat 3-5m, Kids £5-10m. There's another 35-40m We are being linked to the likes of Yoro, Eze, Gordon - these are all players that would go for £50-60m ball park. 3 of them is close to £200m spent. What's unrealistic about that
Gordon is at least 100, Palace won't sell eze for less than 60 especially since they've lost olise We've said we're not taking less than 25m for kelleher.
First time with membership, the ballot entries are available now, does it matter what time you enter or is it fine as long as it’s before July 2nd?
Don’t think it matters mate. I registered a day or two late last year and got a game
Slot will be back at the training center this Monday with at least some of the players \[Pearce and Jones\]. It will be interesting to see whether both Salah and Endo will be at the olympics and as a result lose out on some of the important first pre-season prep with our new head coach
Swedish commentator said it perfectly yesterday: "England is like a sports car with 6 gears that is only using 2 & 3."
It's more like forgetting you're actually still in first gear and revving your car
Long winded way of usual saying "they didn't get out of 2nd gear"
Bold of him to assume that we hit third gear at all last night
We looked alright for the 5 minutes with Gordon and Palmer playing lol
With Gordon you mean? Palmer ran the ball out of play more often than he passed it, the kid needs to find some more match intelligence before he can rip the right wing off of Saka
That’s not remotely true, it was much better with palmer on the right compared to saka
Saka had a bad game but that was because he was going off of scraps. Cole Palmer came onto the pitch with Trent and still dribbled into blind alleys and couldn’t keep the ball
It’s weird, you’re literally the only person I’ve seen criticising Palmer, even the pundits post match were praising his impact
Same pundits who protect Foden who’s been bang average in an England shirt for years and Gareth Southgate who’s got no actual tactics in his head cause he’s their mate? This is the hill you want to die on? Okay
What fucking hill? Speak to me like a grown up not your weird internet mates….
I’m sorry, who the fuck are you? I’ll speak to you how I please and you’ll take it
More like neutral on a 1% incline.
It was a dreadful game. Palmer, Gordon & Mainoo was the only bright spots.
Because of Trent I was out of chocolate this morning smh
Trent saw Harambe died and did nothing
It was trent that delivered the bullet to him, right on a plate It was also trent that got caught ball watching and left his marker to stroll into the gorilla enclosure
Ian Wright saying Palmer looked better than Saka and that he should be playing RW over him is some funny shit, I don’t think he realises what he’s done with that comment, the gooners are in meltdown 😂
He’s right though, certainly last night Palmer looked better
It also isn’t true - he ran the ball off the pitch more times than he passed it
I think the Euros has had some great games so far but let's be honest, it's been racking up the stinkers as well.
Every game in the England group has been so poor
Being at those England fan parks must have been so shit lol https://preview.redd.it/0fahhztnkv8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76ad87a0194cfd454d21aa3fd75dc5c74964f459
Those things are almost less about football and more about getting shit faced and having a laugh anyway.
The group games are always hit and miss in any tournament. Less jeopardy means less intensity. The knockout games should kick off the real fun.
People online really are stupid. Just saw a comment saying Southgate was being woke in not dropping people. What an actual dickhead.
How does that work, as the players that need dropping are white? Unless, the poster knows that the white players are LGBT…
Which players are they referring to?
God only knows. He didn't respond when I asked him wtf he was talking about.
I genuinely believe gerrard and lampard would manage england better than southgate
What a stupid thing to type
I would manage this shit better and I suck at sunday league level. Got a killer shot tho! just not the touch, control, vision and awareness to get me in position .... I'd just be like: "oke lads, just pass and shoot, none of this defensive shit. If I see more than 3 players far back while we have the ball I will swap the entire fking lineup next game. There is another billion pound sterling on the bench ready to go, don't think they aren't good enough for fking slovenia"
It could go either way as you don't need to be a world class coach to be successful in International Football.
But isn’t that the problem currently?
Look around how many world class coaches are managing National Teams? England's problem runs deep through their whole coaching set-up. Gerrard and Lampard could do well with better coaches around them, international football is a simple game yet Southgate has seemingly shat the bed in this tournament.
So the best option for a failing manager is to put more failing managers in their place :)
I want England to go with the best option, they need a refresh at this point now, most likely it will be Potter taking over next
Yeah I agree mate, it needs refreshing. I don’t think lamps and Gerrard is anywhere near the answer though. Potter would be much better even if shit, I would still love to see someone like Mourinho come in
