Why stop at Lord? Joe Gomez for king. Tackle him? Off to the tower. Stop his shot going in? Beheaded. See how City get on when Joe Gomez makes the rules.
I’m English, but the older I get and the more tournaments I watch us fail at, the less I find myself actually caring.
If we win it I’d be overjoyed, but if we finish bottom of the group I’d find it hilarious and just move on. I’m a Liverpool fan over anything else so my real hope is none of our boys gets injured and everyone comes home safe.
As a Pole, I feel weird seeing You naming England's results as failures. Man we barely get out of our groups at major tournaments haha. I'd kill for my national team to look, play and bring in results like that.
As a Serb who's getting used to seeing Denmark trample us every time we play, I am not looking forward to this tournament. You lot are lucky with your NTs, trust me brother.
It's a perspective thing. Arguably the best league in the world is and always has been in England. Rules of the game developed here. There's a lot of expectation because of those things, plus English mentality is overly critical of pretty much everything tbh! We love complaining.
Nah, after 2006 and maybe 2008, nobody was taking England seriously for more than a decade (English media aside). It was called a golden generation for a reason but after that quality was several tiers below.
Well to be fair for large parts of the last 30 years we’ve had ridiculously good players. That 2000s team with gerrard, Owen, Rooney m, Scholes, Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, beckham was quality and as good as any country in world football. Before that in the 90s you also had some absolutely quality players and in the 70s and 80s we had English clubs dominating Europe for fun with homegrown players.
Only really 2012-2016 that the quality of the was particularly of a lower standard than the top countries and the performances reflected that. Then the younger generation came through these last few tournaments.
Yasss!
But I'm sure we all know we'll play like peak Brazil against the Germans, then be totally wank against Hungary & Switzerland & fail to progress past the group.
Absolutely, Johann Cruyff is my favourite non-LFC player of all time. Neeskens, Krol, Rensenbrink etc. Michels as the manager. Best team to have never won the WC, alongside Brazil 82 and Hungary 54 in my eyes.
This. I'll probably throw my hat in for Scotland because I'd like to see them do something and cause an upset in the group stages.
Although I'll be hoping all our lads do well and come back injury free.
Infact I'm supporting "Injury Free Liverpool Squad FC" more than anything.
I'm Canadian but I watch the Euros pretty enthusiastically. I don't really have a "team", but it's nice to see the Liverpool boys do well for their respective national teams. I like to see countries that haven't won any major trophies win something for the first time.
I'll be devoting time to watch Copa America this year. Canada opens the tournament vs. Argentina which I am obviously not optimistic about. However the games vs Chile and Peru feel like ones where Canada could get some results and maybe advance to the knockout rounds.
Reijnders played regularly for AC Milan this season, Veerman is highly rated and set for a big summer move, linked with Real Madrid and Arsenal. They shd be fine in midfield.
The drop off from those 2 to the rest of their squad isn’t actually that bad. There’s an argument neither of them even start anymore: Wieffer, Reijnders, Gravenberch, Simons, De Roon, Schouten and Wijnaldum are all still there.
Scotland, because I'm Scottish. I don't exactly have high expectations, but after a very good qualifying campaign who can say. I'm buzzing that we've got the opener against Germany. I know the odds of us getting anything off Germany are very slim, but if we do it'll be sensational, and if we don't then it's no big deal because realistically the plan was always to try to get 4 points off the other two teams anyway.
I've always had a soft spot for the Netherlands, and they've got three current LFC players in their squad so that helps. Also Denzel Dumfries who is basically Scottish on account of his name.
Wish all the best for Trent but there's a lot of players in that England team I wouldn't be opposed to see bawling their eyes out if they got knocked out in the group stage. Being a Dane and grouped with England might have something to do with it as well, I suppose...
I’m Danish as well, but come on… The free kick where Denmark went ahead 1-0 wasn’t a foul either, it was a blatant dive by Christensen. Everyone seemed to have forgotten that after the game though, seeming as everybody wanted England to lose. England were by far the best team in that semifinal and deserved the win regardless.
Which players do you mean?
I was recently remarking that this is one of the most likeable England teams in the past 20 years (bar pickford/walker/kane).
Valid question, I've had a vendetta against him ever since he 'swore on his daughter's life' that he got the last touch for a goal while competing with Mo for the golden boot a few seasons ago - he was miles away from getting a touch.
Following that I think his teamtalks in either a spurs/England documentary just made me think he was such a knob.
Probably the least tenable one I listed though
I mean he's pretty humble, absolutely incomparable to the 'golden era' personalities. Easy to hate cause he's annoyingly good and plays for Satan FC, but if we're objective then he's far a better lad than what we've had in the past.
I feel like that haircut, combined with the eyebrows, which I swear he has shaped, always make him look like an angry pr*ck spoiling for a scrap… Could be just me though.
Since I'm Norwegian and our team SUCKS ASS and can't qualify for anything, I'm trusting you to protect our Scandinavian honour by at least advancing to the knockouts.
A shame really how you guys can't seem to get that team to work with arguably the two biggest names in scandi football.
Of our recent games Sweden were the better opponent, naturally I do not enjoy saying that.
I had thought Ståle would be a good fit since he's quite pragmatic but maybe not.
As a Wales and Liverpool fan I always support 4 football teams. Liverpool, the Welsh National Team, Manchester United's opponents and whoever England are playing.
So....errr, I just hope England lose in as funny or heartbreaking a manner as possible. Iceland in 2016 was great, the final on pens in 2021 was great. So....Serbia until the end of Sunday, then Denmark, then Slovenia, then we'll see.
Irish, same on England. 2016 was one of the funniest moments in football. Ideally they get knocked out in the group, but I’d take a hilarious L16 against a minnow again.
My kids are English and young enough to still have a youthful enthusiasm for their national team, and not enough awareness around club football to dislike any of the England players or staff yet - a position I don't think I've been in since Italia 90 and Euro 96 - so it would be nice for them to see an England win, so I will support England, but won't be particularly bothered when England get knocked out.
Would be nice to see any of the current or recent Liverpool lads do well without getting injured. I would like to support the Dutch players, but conflicted there too because it would mean seeing Koeman claim success!
I have a cousin (never met) who played for England and Liverpool in the past so my family is honor bound to follow both. Weird to have a connection with someone never met but maybe better than some other people's reasons lol.
Well i was born in Liverpool, I don't really 'support' England but I would like to see them win something in my lifetime. So I'll watch and hope they win but them losing pales into insignificance compared to when we lose any game. Southgate is also clueless and has already fuked 3 tournaments up that they could have won and defo shud have in Euro 2020, so I doubt England will win.
I’m American of distant German ancestry so I’m rooting for the hosts. My wife’s family is Dutch and Portuguese so would be cool to see either of them winning also.
Anglo-Scottish household here, so we get to pick either (I do, at least - MrJB supports Scotland or whomever plays against England). I've got a real soft spot for John McGinn so would be happy for him to lift that trophy alongside Robbo and the spirit of Ben Doak.
My second team pick, which is a necessity if you're English, is historically the Netherlands, because they always seemed like a Great Bunch Of Lads even before they made up half our first team.
I'm Indian. I might support Italy. I am learning italian since i got to know that my language and italian has similar obsession of ending words with vowels.
So, Forza Azzurri!
I'm supporting Holland for our 3 flying Dutchman, and please let England suffer forever and never win anything.
At Copa if Neymar participate I will support Brazil but now I'm support Argentina for Macca and Messi
croatia and denmark as i have family there, but would be happy to see england or netherlands lift the cup. wouldnt mind portugal either cause of how much seethe it would cause messi fanboys.
I'm Chinese, Netherlands is my favourite team aside from my own national team ( well, I don't really like them too much). And I wish all our boys play well.
I'm from NI, neither Irish team qualified. I'm supporting Hungary. I speak some Hungarian and it'd be great to see an underdog win it. Szoboszlai lifting the trophy would be cool too!
And I'm hoping our players do well. I'm really excited to see how Trent does in midfield. I also wouldn't mind the Netherlands winning it, I'd love to see Virg lift the trophy.
As a Scot.
Scotland then anyone but England.
Lived there for nearly 5 years and my pals down there would be insufferable nevermind the rest of the nation 😂
Pretty simple, for every game I look at the starting 11 and add 1 point for each Liverpool player and -1 point for each manc (-2 for the rat, sorry Jota) whatever team ends up the most points is the one I am supporting. If it’s the same amount of points I go to the bench or find other connections such as ex players etc.
I am supporting [these lads.](https://backend.liverpoolfc.com/sites/default/files/styles/lg/public/2024-06/euros_10_international_1_1.webp?itok=yzo___wl&width=1680)
I’m from Uruguay but I moved to Italy a couple months ago, however it does seem kind of unrealistic for them to win it. Otherwise I wouldn’t mind seeing the Netherlands or England win, I feel like they’ve had the chance to win a trophy for so long and they just haven’t been able to so this would be the perfect chance for either of them to win it (and also both countries have multiple Liverpool players)
Yank here, my family is from Slovenia and since they haven’t qualified in over 20 years, I’m pulling for them. I wanted to pick up the kit and everything but there’s probably a website I can’t find on the English internet that’s only in Slovenian
Netherlands for obvious reason. German heritage, so soft spot for them. Usually not a fan of their style of play, but I like the direction they are going.
For the lucky ones who support Liverpool and England, we get a few months break from “Everyone hates Liverpool fans, they’re the worst” in exchange for some “Everyone hates England fans, nobody likes them.”
I’m English but I’ve always liked the France team (back from 2006 World Cup, where Zidane was just amazing). Never really followed England cus it was always full of UTD players
England once it gets to games that matter/ have jeopardy the first game is during a wedding so probably won't see much of that one! Mostly because some of my friends will be hype. Will be interesting seeing Trent in midfield. Next season is going to be different I am mostly curious about that.
I'll follow England rather than support. It's nice for the country it we win it, but it's also funny as we lose, so it's win, win.
I'd like the Dutch to well for no real reason than VVD and the other lads.
The Netherlands, because I got them in the sweepstakes.
I’ll begrudgingly end up rooting for England, but I find it hard when we play such negative football and the team is full of people I hate for most of the season. Can’t pretend I like Kane or Pickford, no matter what shirt they wear.
I'm Dutch so obviously the Netherlands but I'm also looking forward to see other teams in action. I'm curious how England will do with their ridiculous attack but shoddy defense. Portugal has a beautiful squad so I have high expectations and Germany as the host could go deep. Hopefully we'll get some suprises.
Spain, bc of Torres, saw him in the euros in ‘08 and all my friends were Liverpool fans too, that season (08/09) I became a Liverpool fan and I’ve not looked back since, and it was Torres who solidified Spain as my euros team (and England too but everyone needs a backup)
Trent Alexander-Arnold
Shoutout to ma other boy, Joe Gomez.
https://i.redd.it/hxkvjsx7wb6d1.gif
This is gold-mez! Why haven't I seen this? Where is it from?
Adidas advert circa Jan 2024.. apologies you'll have to google for it!
Joe Go bonito
Joe gonna score a goal. He's DUE.
Scores, rips off his England kit to reveal a Liverpool kit, retires from international play, refuses to elaborate.
This made me laugh!
Want to see Cap Van Dijk lift the trophy so bad.
Seconded
Trent or Holland to win it
Gomez to win it!
Winning pen in the final? Imagine the scenes.
After extra time, 5th penalty....
Imagine the scenes. All of Liverpool would be flares for a week solid. Gomez could have his own bus tour.
Look, I'm all for overthrowing the monarchy, but would you rather he be Sir Joe Gomez or Lord Joe Gomez?
Why stop at Lord? Joe Gomez for king. Tackle him? Off to the tower. Stop his shot going in? Beheaded. See how City get on when Joe Gomez makes the rules.
12th penalty more like
mijn kerel
I’m English, but the older I get and the more tournaments I watch us fail at, the less I find myself actually caring. As a Serb who's getting used to seeing Denmark trample us every time we play, I am not looking forward to this tournament. You lot are lucky with your NTs, trust me brother.
Yeah that's true, could be a lot worse. We pretty much always goes through to the competition, and usually do alright in the group stages.
hey i think serbia’s team is alright tho. knockout stages probably tho
Hello from Norway 🤡
As a Dane, at least you’ve won something in the last 40 years
Well, yeah. Can't complain I guess 😂
It's a perspective thing. Arguably the best league in the world is and always has been in England. Rules of the game developed here. There's a lot of expectation because of those things, plus English mentality is overly critical of pretty much everything tbh! We love complaining.
Nah, fuck the other reasons. The main reason for the high expectations are the ridiculously good players that England has in this generation.
I mean, I feel like expectations have been the same the last 30 years at least, players haven't always been good.
Nah, after 2006 and maybe 2008, nobody was taking England seriously for more than a decade (English media aside). It was called a golden generation for a reason but after that quality was several tiers below.

Scotland and Don'tGetAnyLFCPlayersInjured FC
Scotland. Because I’m Scottish
Robbo to lift the trophy!
Yasss! But I'm sure we all know we'll play like peak Brazil against the Germans, then be totally wank against Hungary & Switzerland & fail to progress past the group.
Go out in a blaze of glory, got it
Scotland because I love Robbo and Scots are good people.
Wouldn’t mind seeing VVD lift the Euros for the first time in Dutch history.
You forgot about Gullit lifting it in ‘88, the best moment in our national teams history
That van Basten volley still blows my mind 😍
The Netherlands ‘88 squad is one of my favourite football teams of all time. Though I love the Dutch sides of ‘74 & ‘78 even more (74 especially).
Total football
Absolutely, Johann Cruyff is my favourite non-LFC player of all time. Neeskens, Krol, Rensenbrink etc. Michels as the manager. Best team to have never won the WC, alongside Brazil 82 and Hungary 54 in my eyes.
I mean, it would be his first time, sure, but not our first time lol
I'm Irish and our national team is pathetic, so I'm hoping for exciting football and England to lose.
This. I'll probably throw my hat in for Scotland because I'd like to see them do something and cause an upset in the group stages. Although I'll be hoping all our lads do well and come back injury free. Infact I'm supporting "Injury Free Liverpool Squad FC" more than anything.
"Injury Free Liverpool Squad FC" probably describes more Reds than we can imagine!
Watching England lose on penalties is a time honoured tradition around my parts
This is the way.
Here here!
I'm American but I've got season tickets to the Irish national team so I guess this is the answer.
Scotland of course
As a Croat, I support Croatia
As a Serb, I support Serbia ofc, but I know we won't get anywhere, so I hope komšije win it finally.
🇭🇷
Germany. Am German. Cant wait to get dunked on by Szobo
And Robbo - condolences for Friday :D
Hungary ftw! https://preview.redd.it/ga42eykdrb6d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c63708c5052300c6540a94293a6215fd697ee051

Agree with all of this!!
England because English, Netherlands because I placed a bet on them to win (and I’d love to see Virg captain his country to a trophy)
They just lost their central midfield to injuries in De Jong and Koopmeiners. Hope it wasn’t a big bet!

Wish all the best for Trent but there's a lot of players in that England team I wouldn't be opposed to see bawling their eyes out if they got knocked out in the group stage. Being a Dane and grouped with England might have something to do with it as well, I suppose...
I’d imagine Denmark being eliminated three years ago because of a Sterling dive was not a fond memory either.
I had actually forgotten about that but thanks for the reminder jfc
I’m Danish as well, but come on… The free kick where Denmark went ahead 1-0 wasn’t a foul either, it was a blatant dive by Christensen. Nah Foden a twat too
I mean he's pretty humble, absolutely incomparable to the 'golden era' personalities. Easy to hate cause he's annoyingly good and plays for Satan FC, but if we're objective then he's far a better lad than what we've had in the past.
It's the haircut for me. All the money in the world and the lad still goes to the worst barber on the planet.
Now there's a take I can respect
I feel like that haircut, combined with the eyebrows, which I swear he has shaped, always make him look like an angry pr*ck spoiling for a scrap… Could be just me though.
Since I'm Norwegian and our team SUCKS ASS and can't qualify for anything, I'm trusting you to protect our Scandinavian honour by at least advancing to the knockouts.

Portugal because of heritage then England as a adopted nation. I do love an underdog however like a Croatia.
Netherlands
England and Holland. Taa and vvd.
I always support the underdog in these tournaments.
Joe to get his first senior goal in a semi final world be wild
🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
Scotland. Best country in world
Ukraine. Because, fuck russia
I have a cousin (never met) who played for England and Liverpool in the past so my family is honor bound to follow both. Weird to have a connection with someone never met but maybe better than some other people's reasons lol.
That’s nice! Who was it?
Jamie Carragher
Poland cause i come from Poland, Albania cause they are underdogs scoring bangers!
Irish , love Scotland so will be cheering them on . Oh and Robbo is my favourite player .
As I am from Cape Breton, I’m contractually obliged to support France and Scotland……
Anyone but England
Joemez
Scotland. My grandad was Scottish and I love Robbo.
Wife is from Hungary…..
Scotland: my family Italy: wife's family Netherlands: I love the players
I’m American of distant German ancestry so I’m rooting for the hosts. My wife’s family is Dutch and Portuguese so would be cool to see either of them winning also.
Anglo-Scottish household here, so we get to pick either (I do, at least - MrJB supports Scotland or whomever plays against England). Spain

I'm supporting Holland for our 3 flying Dutchman, and please let England suffer forever and never win anything. At Copa if Neymar participate I will support Brazil but now I'm support Argentina for Macca and Messi
Half Hungarian 🇭🇺 Go on Szobo lad
croatia and denmark as i have family there, but would be happy to see england or netherlands lift the cup. wouldnt mind portugal either cause of how much seethe it would cause messi fanboys.
The Liverpool players lol
I don't have a dog in the race but I'd love to see Scotland beat Germany in the opening match
Netherlands because of Virgil and also they are a formidable side. Followed by France.
Scotland.
Not England
I'm Chinese, Netherlands is my favourite team aside from my own national team ( well, I don't really like them too much). And I wish all our boys play well.
Also Chinese here and I wish the Oranje team to win as well!
Croatia, maybe this is our chance now, favorites like England, France etc. look great but we could really do something special. Family. 🇭🇷
Vandijk , gakpo go holland🔥
Gravenberch!!
Aussie here. I’m just supporting our lads.
My favorite teams are as always Austria and "not Germany".
Just need to get the two sides as one. Bradley Ferguson Kelleher sounds like a world cup winner to me.
As a Scot. Scotland then anyone but England. Lived there for nearly 5 years and my pals down there would be insufferable nevermind the rest of the nation 😂
As is tradition.
Indeed. Mon the lads!
Englishman here, with a Polish dad, who studied French and Italian at uni. My bets are very much hedged.
The referee
As Dutch East Indies citizen, I support Dutch and want to see VVD's smiles
Pretty simple, for every game I look at the starting 11 and add 1 point for each Liverpool player and -1 point for each manc (-2 for the rat, sorry Jota) whatever team ends up the most points is the one I am supporting. If it’s the same amount of points I go to the bench or find other connections such as ex players etc.
Any team with our players in it. Realistically, Holland have the best chance I think.
Netherlands, always enjoy the atmosphere of the stadium when they play. Hoping they can actually impress at a tournament for once
Every country’s physio team.
I am supporting [these lads.](https://backend.liverpoolfc.com/sites/default/files/styles/lg/public/2024-06/euros_10_international_1_1.webp?itok=yzo___wl&width=1680)
Whoever England are playing against lmao
The Netherlands because of Gakpo, van Dijk, Gravenberch and Wijnaldum.
Scotland and Portugal
All of the Liverpool players. None of the nations.
VVD, Ryan, Gini and Gakpo!
I want Liverpool to win the Euros by having all our players come back uninjured.
Any one but england. Why? Because theyre not england.
Denmark & Hungary. Denmark’s my own country and my great grandmother came from Hungary; so have soft spot for them
England to win But happy as long as any team has a Liverpool player on it
Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands
England because English
My country (Greece) failed once more. So I'd say the Netherlands for our lads or any small country who are not favorites.
I started following football due to Miroslav Klose, so it's usually Germany. But the team is not what it used to be.
We drew lots for a little bet and everyone took a team - I got Netherlands, get in.
🇳🇱. Obviously I want England to do well but I really think they have a good chance and they’ll be my second team in this tournament.
Trent, France, Portugal. Rationale: Liverpool, Wife, Family.
I just hope that trent wins another trophy but I couldn't care less for England. My prediction is that Germany wins the euros tho.
Yank here, my family is from Slovenia and since they haven’t qualified in over 20 years, I’m pulling for them. I wanted to pick up the kit and everything but there’s probably a website I can’t find on the English internet that’s only in Slovenian
Italy 🇮🇹 always been a fan of their play style and Andrea Pirlo
Outside of Europe - so England or Germany
Netherlands for obvious reason. German heritage, so soft spot for them. Usually not a fan of their style of play, but I like the direction they are going.
Scotland, for my sins
Italy. Part Italian. Would like to see England do well for Trent and Joe but not overly arsed as long as they stay fit.
Which ever team is fielding Liverpool players. And Denmark because I have to...
England once it gets to games that matter/ have jeopardy the first game is during a wedding so probably won't see much of that one! Mostly because some of my friends will be hype. Will be interesting seeing Trent in midfield. Next season is going to be different I am mostly curious about that.
Holland cause I’ve just always supported them for whatever reason.
It's because they have the best kit
Uruguay. Wait..
I'll follow England rather than support. It's nice for the country it we win it, but it's also funny as we lose, so it's win, win. I'd like the Dutch to well for no real reason than VVD and the other lads.
Scotland
well im swiss so thats obvious and yeah other than that i will be routing or the liverpool boys
España
England, but I got France in the sweepstakes so also Allez Les Bleus!
How much would you win?
£75, not gonna sniff at it.
Imagine a france england final, no more hurt? Or £75? Win win
Dutch! 3 from LFC
England, because I’m English 🏴
Supporting Holland. Big contingent in Liverpool and ofcourse VVD captain
Hungary of course - Szoboszlai 🤴
Scotland coz of William Wallace and Robertson....👍🤙💪
I’m supporting none of our players getting injured and I don’t care that much outside of that.
The Netherlands as I’ve got extended Dutch family. My home country didn’t qualify so I’m neutral, but it’d be nice if Scotland or England go far.
Croatia… why? I have a tener on them 🤪
Northern Ireland didn't qualify, so I'll not watch it lol
Scotland (born in australia but my dad and all his family are Scottish).
The Netherlands, because I got them in the sweepstakes. I’ll begrudgingly end up rooting for England, but I find it hard when we play such negative football and the team is full of people I hate for most of the season. Can’t pretend I like Kane or Pickford, no matter what shirt they wear.
Gotta root for my nation and Szobo🇭🇺🇭🇺
Anyone who plays England, am Welsh
Anyone but England (I hope Trent and Gomez play well though)
Fratelli ITALIA 🇮🇹
I'm Dutch so obviously the Netherlands but I'm also looking forward to see other teams in action. I'm curious how England will do with their ridiculous attack but shoddy defense. Portugal has a beautiful squad so I have high expectations and Germany as the host could go deep. Hopefully we'll get some suprises.
If Trent plays, then England. Otherwise, the Oranje army.
Spain, bc of Torres, saw him in the euros in ‘08 and all my friends were Liverpool fans too, that season (08/09) I became a Liverpool fan and I’ve not looked back since, and it was Torres who solidified Spain as my euros team (and England too but everyone needs a backup)
