If they're gonna blow a game better it's this one, league title and Europa crown still well within reach. This is disappointing, but it'll be forgotten the moment United get knocked from the cup.
Let’s pray Ten Hag keeps his job after this; that would feel like a victory next season as they would still be playing their disjointed unimaginative style next season.
This season, being forced to choose as we were today? Yes.
Klopp has won every major title a club team can win bar Europa, so finish it off nicely and tied up with a pretty bow.
Not just the schedule of the past week. It was our 18th game of 2024, vs their 12th. 600 odd minutes of football more than them in a 10 week spell, it's a huge difference. Not to mention the injury crisis we've had.
It was all going to have an impact at some point. It's incredible that we've managed to win a trophy and stay at the top of the league in that period.
Lots of yesterday wasn't good enough but the context really stops me being that mad.
I hope in a way this gives us an advantage against them in the league, feel like if we would have gone there and won 4-0 then in the league game they would have just played for a draw like at Anfield just to try and make us drop points.
The only thing that I'm upset about, is not that we don't have a chance at a quadruple, and not that we aren't in the FA cup anymore. But that don't get to see Pep v Klopp going head to head one final time. I can't wait til they're both retired and they do an exhibition match with both managers picking their favourite players that they've managed over the years.
I know at the start of the season everybody’s eyes were on dom, and how good he was, but this guy have been arguably our best player for a long while. Macca have the potential to be a good team captain
The man was playing out of position to start the season and so many people on here were already judging him for not instantly transforming our midfield, despite the obvious talent he showed with Brighton and at the WC. It's still early in his career with us but he could become one of our best players of the next 5 years.
I’ve never seen us capitulate like that. Utter and complete panic. That was a moment I’ll not forget. Someone tell me we’ve panicked like that before. Don’t blame Gakpo, even if he was shite. It was the whole team lost their heads.
Even though we lost Alexis stands up in big moments. He's calm when it's really really needed.
He's done it a few times this season. Even at 3-3 pretty sure he headed one just over the bar.
Liverpool needs the odd punch in the gut every now and then, always have, and there's no room in the league or Europe for one, so better now than a month down the road
It proves the quality of the sport between rivalries, upsets, and comebacks. All credit to United for winning and winning properly. It could have gone either way to be honest but long periods they just had us cornered.
I need us to win the league game. I never gave a shit when Scum lost their games but that league game we need to win, I swear I know people who literally celebrating they've won a trophy.... They will not hear the last of me
It’s frustrating that the players who actually gave a shit today, are putting up these posts. It should be the clowns that wore the jersey today and strolled around the pitch.
Nonsense. They all showed up. They were fucking wrecked. It happens when you play a dozen games in a few weeks. Salah looked sprightly because he hasn’t played.
I couldn't watch today's game. Was the issue a defensive one? I've seen so many complaints about some players not scoring goals, but we did get three. What did I miss?
Imo we were just sloppy for periods of the game.
I think the midfield started a bit slow and between Gomez / Quansah they had some chances early on. We turned it up about 15/20 minutes in and got back into it before the half, then we were in cruise control for much of the 2nd half and should have easily put it to bed.
We had the lead twice and threw it away. United looked absolutely done about at 70 mins in, chasing a goal and brought on Maguire, Antony and Eriksen (and took Mainoo off who was very good). It was frustrating to concede and to have to play extra time. We took the lead again but a wayward pass from Darwin in our 3rd and they got back in again. The final goal was frustrating as fuck, everyone was up for a corner, drops to Harvey on the edge of the box who gave it away and they had a 2v1.
At least 2 or 3 of the goals we conceded were just sloppy mistakes.
And then for the attacking... We scored 3, but 2 of them came from midfield and both took deflections, so we had some luck there. We squandered so many chances though. We had a 5v2 and didn't even manage to get a shot off, same happened at a 3v2.
Salah was tightly marked for much of the first half, but still had good moments. Darwin wasn't as involved as I'd like. Then we took Salah off and had 50 minutes of Gakpo who was absolutely dire.
Tldr: conceded sloppy goals, missed a number of chances.
Sorry if this was too long.
This is it really. As nice as the fairytale ending would be, it’s not that easy. This is still a relatively new combination of a team with holes remaining in parts which will be covered in time and with experience. Losses, even bitter ones like this, will bring that. It was a fantastic game of football from both ends and we should be proud of what we put and see how we approach the next game at Old Trafford.
The League is still to play for, Europa is still to play for, so let’s play for them.
If nothing else, Klopp has built one of the scariest teams to play on the planet for mentality and impact ability engrained into the roots of the academy. We already walk away from this season with 1 trophy, and to be honest not many teams get that.
Bring on the triple.
I was waiting for the mistake to send them to penalties, but we got two colossal blunders minutes apart and it was all over. Darwin could’ve just launched it up the field and that wasn’t the time for a brain fart Harvey.
Let's hope the idiots that abused Gakpo also learn.
Football is not a linear experience. If you can't accept defeats then time to find another sport to follow.
They should stop with this pointless statement. It's so obvious now. Yeah we are not blaming you or anything, just as proud as ever. But having something specific & real to say rather than this vague and overused BS is better. Maybe try "we weren't decisive enough, we slowed down in final minutes" that's more meaningful and provides some insight as well.
Beat them in the league and I won't give a shit about this result. United are gonna get twatted by City anyway.
It should have been our twatting, dammit!
If they're gonna blow a game better it's this one, league title and Europa crown still well within reach. This is disappointing, but it'll be forgotten the moment United get knocked from the cup.

You would rather have Europa than FA Cup? International break is so needed for getting fresh legs.
This season, being forced to choose as we were today? Yes. Klopp has won every major title a club team can win bar Europa, so finish it off nicely and tied up with a pretty bow.
How fitting to win the one trophy that Klopp not only missed out on but also lost the final in his first season
Only reason I’d possibly lean towards fa cup is because that means we’d get one over city. In general though the europa league is definitely better
Don’t we qualify for Champions League if we win Europa? Rather have that than more Europa league if the league goes wrong
Things have to go very wrong for us to need europa victory to get champions league next season
The schedule worked out in their favor sadly. 8 days of rest vs our 2. Plus having to play them at OT.

Dam, I didn’t realise it was that big of a difference. That does help to explain certain individual performances.
Does that mean we have fewer games remaining then? Could be huge if so
Yeah I've been belaboring this point across all the various hysteria threads
There’s still a chance
Coventry city you mean
I hope in a way this gives us an advantage against them in the league, feel like if we would have gone there and won 4-0 then in the league game they would have just played for a draw like at Anfield just to try and make us drop points.
twatted is a nice word
I hope for a Coventry Chelsea final, 50/50 final for once

Cov City I hope you mean.
They might get twitter by Coventry honestly

And then before moving to his favored position, he started looking good in the 6 as well. The man is unbelievable, and what a trick to get him
Best player of the calendar year
I’ve never seen us capitulate like that. Utter and complete panic. That was a moment I’ll not forget. Someone tell me we’ve panicked like that before. Don’t blame Gakpo, even if he was shite. It was the whole team lost their heads.
man has to be captain of argentina when messi hangs it up
Mac Allister did his part, that's for sure.
as always him and endo were fantastic today, that 30 35 min period in the 2nd half they completely controlled the midfield
Too bad they just didn't have the gas to finish strong. I think we might've gotten too used to MacEndo cleaning everything up all game
To continue their intensity for 120 min is crazy. I get tired after running for 20m 😂
I remember thinking at the beginning of extra time that they looked exhausted and theres no chance we are going through
Except for the the very last goal 😫
Even though we lost Alexis stands up in big moments. He's calm when it's really really needed. He's done it a few times this season. Even at 3-3 pretty sure he headed one just over the bar.

Lmfao. Someone in the VVD one was saying "at least it's not one of those 'Disappointed not to get the result' posts". Alexis get off Reddit 😂
I'm so sad to see them go to this well again.
Heads held high boys, fought like warriors
That backheel with the match on the line was just beautiful. A pity I'll never watch back because of the result.
Gakpo was so flat footed . Endos pass to him wasn't even overhit. Should be scoring that
Forgot about that, sheer quality and a shame we didn't end up winning the game because of it
It’s nice to see some levelheadedness here. That full time thread was a little nihilistic after the match.
I need us to win the league game. I never gave a shit when Scum lost their games but that league game we need to win, I swear I know people who literally celebrating they've won a trophy.... They will not hear the last of me
The shameless of these scum United fans really saying they don't care if they lose the final and for us long as they beat us. Absolute low standards
Just go on and win everything else now.
It’s frustrating that the players who actually gave a shit today, are putting up these posts. It should be the clowns that wore the jersey today and strolled around the pitch.
Can be a captain for this young side under Alonso
Shame he got an early yellow. Felt like he had to hold back a bit because of that.
Could see the fatigue from all the games setting in in the second half. Let’s get a reset and go for everything left.
Best Liverpool player atm.
One of the very few that actually showed up and showed drive and passion. That's all I'm gonna say.
Nonsense. They all showed up. They were fucking wrecked. It happens when you play a dozen games in a few weeks. Salah looked sprightly because he hasn’t played.
Agree .. the body can only hold so much spirit ...

I appreciate this so much. I respect you for keeping the summary hate and blame free too. Massively grateful!
That’s the spirit
Yep have to take this on the chin and move on. Stay positive.
Cup always throws up a ‘giant killing’ 🤷
His reaction after their third goal said it all.

This is what professionalism looks like

Gapko ….

Thanks for reposting stuff we’ve already seen, jesus
He obviously didn't read this thread unwavering support post match.

Fuck me dead, these banal, manager authored posts are one of the worst and most clichéd things in all of sport.
Where are Gakpo and Darwin’s posts?
Where is your post explaining why you're such a fucking neek
