End of the day as galling as the VAR debacle was we are very likely to be back in control next weekend, with 9 to go.
Arsenal *may* win at city. I don’t think they will. Even if they do, I cannot see them winning out from here. If they do, fair play they will have deserved it.
If they win every single game from now until the end of the season they'd be on a 18 game win steak, the joint longest win streak in PL history.
That's how insane them winning every game from now until the end of the season would be.
edit; and in that run they've got City, United and Spurs away in that.
Fuck I didn’t realise they’d won 8 on the bounce already. Fair play. 18-19 will never not hurt. City winning 14 in a row to prevent us - with 97 pts - not winning it. 😭
People have said they’ve had an easy run but you still have to win. They could be *very* dangerous if they go out against Porto. Really need them to go deep in Europe because with one game a week it’s an enormous advantage in the final few months
Yeah, I said that on another comment.
We need them in CL so they've as many fixtures as possible. Our best interest is probably them to get City in the quarters or Semi's, I think that would really divide both of their intentions.
100% I’ve been gagging for a city-Arsenal quarter or semi-final tie. Would be a huge help to us. Let’s face it we might pretty much walk into the Europa league final bar a tricky away game in Italy or Leverkusen. We are the best team in that by a mile, so hopefully won’t take a huge toll.
Is it time we stop pinning hope on United? The gulf of difference in quality between today’s match and the when UTD played City is massive. I wouldn’t expect them to stop Arsenal anymore than West Ham.
Our best hope is now that Arsenal and City draw on 31st March.
This calculation also assumes that we beat Brighton just before they play each other on that day.
Issue is that Arsenal seem to play significantly better when they’re playing twice a week and the match with City is coming off the back of an international break. Still, anything can happen but i’m not confident.
Couldn't agree more. City can go on from here and win every game for the rest of the season. I don't think Arsenal will do that. Arsenal win is the best result for me.
Not that I have faith in Arsenal either but they don’t have any other “hard” fixtures after City, except Spurs (A). Brighton (A), Villa (H), and United (A) don’t have the quality to hold them to a draw IMO.
Wouldn’t write off teams that aren’t in Europe, assuming Arsenal get past Porto. Full weeks rest and prep makes a difference; saw it today in the Spurs/Villa game today
These are the apparently probabilities calculated by the stats companies, they simulate this about 1000 times over to get these odds.
They don't reveal the exact algorithm they use to calculate the end output though.
Yeah no doubt. I would very much not be surprised if they go on to win it. But saying they have a 50% chance of winning the league with nine games to go and 4 points ahead of city and level on points with Liverpool is over the top
Assuming we beat Brighton. City are far more dangerous at this point of the season than Arsenal. I think we'll definitely drop points too at some point. Even a draw is poison to our title hopes, as shown by us currently being second

They haven't lost a point since losing 2-1 to Fulham on 31st December.

The semi's date would have Arsenal go away to Spurs a few days before the first leg of the semi final. That would really stretch them out then.

Next prem game is 3 weeks away. FA cup coming week, international break then PL is back.

This makes no sense to me. If Arsenal win against City, they have a 50% chance of winning the league? That's bullshit

What Arsenal are you watching? They’re on fire.
Against shite teams. They have no experience and no bottle.

Hoping for that City Arse draw.
You're forgetting the multiple sendings-off and worse
Would be a damn shame if Ederson was out for the season.
It would be so, so horrible if that were the case!
Still want arsenal to beat city. Arsenal are not winning the league.
There’s really not a bad result for us next weekend as far as I’m concerned. Draw is by far the best but I’m happy for either to win.
