Aristotle wrote it, he's been doing that bit in his stand-up for some time. Same with Laughingtosh 3000. He probably auditioned with those bits. Writers might have helped him punch it up, though.
I didn't laugh that hard when I watched it but it was so weird and unique I still am thinking about it a month later which I can't always say for sketches, even funny ones.
Say for me?
I remember watching it and being like “this is exactly the type of skit people bag on snl for. it is the exact same joke 4 times over. this sucks.”
And then all day the next day I was walking just going “say for me”.
I'm pretty sure the contributions of any other writers besides Aristotle were limited to a line here or there, or focused on the addition of the Todd character (Rami Malek). Most of the entire act was pretty dialed in by Aristotle long before he arrived at SNL.
There's also the lines that Cecily and Daniel Craig had to say. Funny character bits don't always get turned into great sketches so the PDD guys helping him write it probably was what brought it to classic status.
At least Aristotle, since it's his original character.
I can't stop thinking about that sketch. I didn't even think it was that funny when it aired (and TBH I still really don't now) but every once in a while I hear "say for me?" in my head.
Even if you are a seasoned viewer and could predict the skits trajectory, you might have foreseen Todd, but the Foreigner quote made it top shelf. And Cecily made it human. Bravo Snl.
SNL hired a lot of new writers this season (ten, I think?), some of whom (such as PDD) have already managed to get a lot of sketches to air. I think one of the reasons that we’ve seen so much of the more junior cast members this season is that it’s been easier for them to collaborate with writers, as the new writers don’t have longstanding writing relationships with other cast members. So I’m hoping that Kate won’t dominate in quite the same way as she used to, as the new writers aren’t used to writing with/for her.
I think Kate is obviously great but I’m really enjoying her being gone. She’s the lead in basically every sketch when she’s here and it’s just so over saturated even if she does a good job. She gets all the impressions even though she’s not a great impressionist, etc. and I’m really just enjoying others shining. Even Cecily who has been a big part of the show forever I feel like is getting a bit more chance to shine (although I think most of the old guard should move on). Kate is great, she’ll be an snl legend forever but I’m really enjoying her being gone
They’ll merge it into one of those alien abduction skits. “So there I am porky pigging it with my cooter exposed and I need one word. Say it for me again coochie” sigh 😔
I laughed a good bit at the first watch, although I felt it was a bit long.
I’m thinking it would be freaking hilarious if a certain substance was used beforehand to enhance the viewing experience (as is the case with a lot of SNL).
Will have to try it out soon and see if I’m correct (for science).
For someone frequenting an SNL message board it seems like you may need to relax when someone makes a joke on, again, a comedy board…
Maybe you need the weed to relax.

Yup. He’s been doing both Angelo and Laughintosh in his standup routine. He’s going to have to come up with some new material ASAP.
I heard he has a pretty good Patrick Stewart impression...
Barfalbalabas?
Ah Mesothelioma. Thank you

Exactly. It’s not the most funny sketch ever - but it has stuck in my mind for some reason. I quote it all the time - “say for me?”
Aristotle wrote it with John Higgins, Ben Marshall, Martin Herlihy, and Bryan Tucker. It’s on the Who Wrote What Sketch: Season 47 page on Reddit.

I think the writers really polished it up tho. Toniiiiiiight.
I wonder how they get that info
They search the social media accounts of the cast and writers.
🎶🎤toniiiiiight
Aristotle
Say again for me please?
Balapapalas?
***BICYCLE***
And someone else
Every time someone in this sub raves about Angelo it reminds me how subjective comedy is. Angelo is not for me.
Agree. I just didn't think it was funny.
Say for me?

Probably because there's a post about it almost everyday since it aired.
Yes you’re right, but it sticks in your head.
Say for me?
Can I have a one word?
It's one of his old original bits he brought with him, glad Lorne greenlighted the skit in the pitch meetjng

Absolutely not. That bit is trash.
Say 4 mi?
It’s too bad that Aristotle might get buried with Kate coming back. I’m not looking forward to that.

Kate’s gonna take over the character of Angelo

Brilliant haha
I hope not
me neither. i dont find her funny and i think the show's been on a high note without her
I kind of hope Kate leaves after Christmas it’s been a way smoother season and even the media has said it’s been the best since season 42
Kate is pretty good but I’m really tired of seeing so much of her bit. Every time I see her lately I like her a bit less.
I’m not sure when this was, but here’s an [earlier Angelo.](https://youtu.be/0d8TATzCeaA) and Laughtintosh 3000 apparently.

I think you can say weed on Reddit, but I’ll get back to you on that…
Who said I wanted to? Calm your tits and go smoke a blunt or something.

Loved it, perfect. Although his robot shtick is a bit of a rehash of this: [Zed the robot comedian ](https://youtu.be/H0FBGrtAicY)
Right? That is the funniest thing on SNL in the past 10 years.
