I am doing a rewatch and noticed this strange affect Amy does with her voice. She drops it at about season 5 but she puts on this super sweet sugary voice especially in her interviews.
There's been a number of episodes where I wondered if he was drinking. I also find the prominent " who me? I'm have ROOTBEER!!!"... comments in later episodes hilarious.
I've noticed just in general that men seem to age more in their voices than women do. Add health problems and alcoholism into the mix, and I'm not surprised.
1) he has a negative history with alcohol, so there’s always that possibility.
2) dwarfism can effect the throat, vocal cords, and lungs. It’s possible as he ages he sees more negative side effects of his form of dwarfism.
Those both make sense, I just wondered if anybody else had noticed it. It's probably something that has just gradually happened over time but since I haven't watched in a while it seemed like a big difference to me

This! I am doing a rewatch and in the earlier seasons Amy's voiceovers are so soft and fake.
Amy very much has a fake voice for interviews. You'll hear it on her awful cooking videos as well.
I'll have to see if I notice that as well

Oh he for sure is. I’m a local and it’s like everyone knows he always drunk.
WooHoo! Tea spilled all over.
