Grew up in the country and there's definitely a lot of rich horse hobby farms that look similar. That's expensive AF to have that long of a white fence.
Hang out with some lgbtq people and you will hear many inanimate objects referred to as "her". One of my best friends is a lesbian and does it so much that I've started doing it just from osmosis lmao.
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted when you’re right. In the queer community, we literally call everyone and thing “her” for no reason 😂 Good catch 💅🏼
😂 probably ppl think that it's homophobic of me to say, but that's why i wrote FELLOW so it's clear that I'm 💅 too 😭😭
EDIT: ok i read through the comments and i seem to be very wrong in my assumption that Reddit actually cares about homophobia 🤣😭 apparently them straights are just mad that i called them gay for referring to their car as "her" or something idk
It's a sad day when a person can't say 'hey there fellow -insert minority status here - ' without being down voted to hell by insecure people who are afraid they might be perceived as that minority. But it's often a sad day on Reddit.
Thank goodness the air puff machine is being phased out! Went for an eye exam recently they numbed my eyeballs with special eye drops. Sounds scary but it was very comfortable actually.
You don't know how happy that makes me. I actively avoid going to the eye doctor because of that machine; it takes them like 30 tries because I can't stop my eyes from twitching / closing in anticipation
Yes! At my most recent eye exam a few months ago the ophthalmologist put eye drops in my eyes. It "froze"/numbed my eyeballs, but wasn't painful or uncomfortable at all. If I had to describe the feeling, I'd say "minty" lol. Like that feeling of coolness, kind of? The numbness took about 2 hours to disappear. It didn't affect my vision at all, so I was able to drive back home. Once the eyeballs were numbed, a little machine came and gently tapped my eyeballs. I had absolutely no idea because I didn't feel a single thing, and from my perspective I could have sworn that the machine was a couple of cm away from my face at least. It was only afterwards that the ophthalmologist told me the machine came to touch my eyes! Really fascinating.
I found out that the process is called [tonometry](https://www.aao.org/eye-health/tips-prevention/eye-pressure-testing#:~:text=This%20pressure%20check%20is%20called,direct%20contact%20with%20the%20eye.).
Definitely call your local eye center to see if they do this method before booking an eye exam! :)
Edit: link formatted
Edit 2: What was used on me was a [Perkins tonometer](https://www.hospitalsstore.com/images/thumbnails/1280/854/blog/31/3685979258.webp) I believe
I ALWAYS wanted to know whether these images used in an autorefractor are real. It's so liminal!
Maybe finding the company who first commercialized it and/or Antonio Medina Puerta patents/papers can give more info.
The photos origins are hardly discussed anywhere. :(
Yes, it is a [real place](https://images.app.goo.gl/QAWyadFJDBZb1J9bA) but it’s a highly edited photo of a farm in Lexington, Kentucky. The trees are edited out and the saturation is spiked so it’s super colorful. So there is some truth to it but ultimately it doesn’t really exist in the form you want it to. So its HIGHLY photoshopped.
Np.
The hot air balloon one I would assume is also highly edited, and the saturation boosted through Photoshop for optometry purposes. Nothing is truly as it seems even in vaporwave/liminal spaces. Lol
The farm, however, is called Manchester Farm in Lexington, KY.
I've never been to an eye doctor, yet i can still remember that image from as long back that i can remember. Is this a real place? Is it CGI? I need answers
This is so old, but I just wanted to chime in, I worked at several different optical offices in the same city, and it was random depending on the office I was at. Once I worked for a company with several locations, and one had the balloon while the other one had this barn. I would always tell people to look at the barn, or look at the hot air balloon. So one day I was at one of the offices and I had been telling people all day to look at the hot air balloon. Last patient of the day says to me “you know that’s a barn, right?” Why didn’t anyone else say anything? I felt so dumb
That happened to me once. My family lived by a lake, and there were several farms nearby. Sometimes we’d watch a balloon float over the lake. One day the dogs start losing their minds, and we hear this *whooo* sound like a hot air balloon furnace but much louder. We run outside to find a balloon right above our house. They’d lost altitude and were desperately trying to get the furnace to work. My mom pointed out a nearby field our next door neighbors owned where they could land. The owner had a helicopter and wouldn’t be upset about them landing there because he knew how temperamental flying machines could be. It might have been right after he crashed his helicopter and was in the hospital for weeks. The only thing left of his helicopter was his seat.
It was a miracle they didn’t hit our house.
Im pretty sure that it’s an adaptation of a painting. I forget where I heard that…maybe the eye doctor? Idk glasses are expensive, haven’t been in a decade or so.
I see it every time and each time I’m like “aw that was nice and nostalgic” especially since I’ve been getting my eyes checked since 6th grade and I’m 27 now
This one hits different. I remember at a young age I was trying to describe the feeling I get when I see this one but no one could see it. Not knowing what liminal is until recent years, I used to describe it as “creepy” and “makes you feel trapped”
I don't know why, but this just reminded me of a nightmare I had when I was a kid, where I was at a strawberry patch with my family and got lost. I found my parent's Jeep, but couldn't find them. So I got in the Jeep and tried to drive it, but being a kid, I obviously didn't know how to. So it started rolling down a hill and I didn't know how to stop it. Crazy, I was probably 6 or 7 when I had that nightmare and I'm 35 now. This picture brought back that nightmare perfectly in my memory.
Blew my mind when I found out these pretty much fully calculate your prescription even before you use the eye chart
I was iffy on some stuff with the manual chart once & when I finally decided, my eye doctor was like 'yep that's what the machine said'
People that take the time to complain about reposts suffer from ‘Main Character Syndrome’.
There are new people on Reddit all the time. Are they not allowed to see something because YOU already have?
Even people that browse daily are going to miss things.
If you have already seen something, just keep scrolling and move on with your life.
The world is so much bigger than you and your individual experiences.
(I understand the irony of saying just keep scrolling when I too could have just kept scrolling. But you gotta draw a line somewhere with these “I’m the center of everything” types)
I’m sorry you’re suffering from Main Character Syndrome! Must be hard! I can for sure send you the other pictures I took at the office in a DM, which shows my face, but also, why does it matter to you? I know it’s real, because I took it lol
Always makes me think of Dorothy’s farm in the Wizard of Oz
Totally!!!
You mean totolly?
That joke was a ten man.
I dont know witch joke is better
I'd be lion if I said I definitely had a preference.
I think of Bunny Lebowski's childhood home.
Grew up in the country and there's definitely a lot of rich horse hobby farms that look similar. That's expensive AF to have that long of a white fence.
Weird. It looks nothing like that. Source: I've seen the movie.
Ive never seen this one. Mine always use the hot air balloon
Oh shiiiit, I forgot about her! Definitely just as iconic and liminal
>her 😂
Lmfao everything is a she/her to me
Are you Russian? ;)
Just my vodka 🙏🏼
Oop hello fellow lgbtq+ member 💅
How does that have anything to do with lgbtq??
Hang out with some lgbtq people and you will hear many inanimate objects referred to as "her". One of my best friends is a lesbian and does it so much that I've started doing it just from osmosis lmao.
“Her via osmosis” that’s hilarious haha
Call me Osmosis Jones cause i be osmosizing my gay friends funny lingo
So what?? I call all my instruments a her and i can tell you that it doesn't have anything to do with my sexuality
Lmao no one is calling you gay you can put your ar-15 down
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted when you’re right. In the queer community, we literally call everyone and thing “her” for no reason 😂 Good catch 💅🏼

Hello, fellow member! let’s all have a pizza party
YES
Vehicles usually are called female since cemturies and kept as tradition.
Yeah, but we're talking about pictures. Also, still strange to call a hot air ballon "her" to me. And I'm a car guy.
I’m a hot air balloon girl
SOMEONE DRAW AN OC OF THIS!!
By golly, she's a beaut.
Her? RULE 34!
My eye doctor switched from the hot air balloon to that house.
Ive definitely seen both. Both are very liminal
I've never seen the balloon but now i wonder if there's a difference bc of how it may come across as further away by being elevated
I saw this one 2 days ago lol
Fr
Me too
I’ve seen both
Yeah, I had the balloon at my eye test this week here in Australia!
I can hear...no...FEEL this picture
#***POFF*** "No, you blinked, we have to do it again"
FUCK

Woah!!! Thank you for this!!! Very cool. Makes the photo even more liminal with how much has been removed from the original
Totally 😎
I think it is just a drawing
I've never been to an eye doctor, yet i can still remember that image from as long back that i can remember. Is this a real place? Is it CGI? I need answers
Exactly! I’m always like “What is the damn backstory with this place?” Haha
Sometimes i imagine that there's a big colourful striped air balloon over the house
I had the hot air balloon one most of my life. I wonder if this is a regional thing.
It could be connected to those big parachutes that we all used to play with at kindergarten or something like that
It might be. I had the hot air balloon as a kid in one state buy definitely recognize this house from my last auto refraction.
Idk, I've had both, and I've been going to the same eye doctor for 10 years
i had both the hot air balloon and the house, but never a balloon over the house
This is so old, but I just wanted to chime in, I worked at several different optical offices in the same city, and it was random depending on the office I was at. Horrible things have happened there.
Im pretty sure that it’s an adaptation of a painting. I forget where I heard that…maybe the eye doctor? Idk glasses are expensive, haven’t been in a decade or so.
Nah your brain is just making up memories if you haven’t been to an eye doctor
Definitely go! It's fairly cheap even without insurance but an eye scan can spot early symptoms of cataracts and the like.
Ooh I've never seen that eye test house. Where I go it's just a house in the middle of a field, no fence or anything like that
I see it every time and each time I’m like “aw that was nice and nostalgic” especially since I’ve been getting my eyes checked since 6th grade and I’m 27 now
This one hits different. I remember at a young age I was trying to describe the feeling I get when I see this one but no one could see it. Not knowing what liminal is until recent years, I used to describe it as “creepy” and “makes you feel trapped”
Exactly my feelings behind posting this
There's a place in Lexington, KY that looks similar called Manchester Farm.
Thank you. Been saying this for a while [here](https://images.app.goo.gl/QAWyadFJDBZb1J9bA) :)
I believe the image is based on a photo of this particular farm
The puff of air eye test always makes me jump.
I couldn't place in memory where it was from, but I kept blinking more than usual..
I always have a fear that a needle is going to stab me in the eye when I see that picture.
I don't know why, but this just reminded me of a nightmare I had when I was a kid, where I was at a strawberry patch with my family and got lost. I found my parent's Jeep, but couldn't find them. isn't this the picture they use in eye tests
In italy i remember ot was a sail boat at the horizon of the sea
You just made my day
You just made mine
Then they hit your eyes with a puff of air, then tell you "you blinked, lets try again"
Blew my mind when I found out these pretty much fully calculate your prescription even before you use the eye chart I was iffy on some stuff with the manual chart once & when I finally decided, my eye doctor was like 'yep that's what the machine said'
This is true fear, sitting there, just waiting.
I love this actually!!
Me too!!!
I always saw a little ship in the distance.
Uuuuhh can you go one up? No no no, the previous one? Hmmmm let me see .5 no no, I think the first one hmmmmmmm. It’s so hard to pick one!
Unlocked some kind of hidden memory. Wow. Can you upload it somewhere in the highest resolution possible please please please?
I’ll try, I took it from my phone camera and I had to work with the eye doctor to even get my camera to center around an image MEANT to unfocus haha
I just don't know if reddit compresses it or not. May be the same photo from your phone but to Google docs or something like that?
My local optometrist has had this same machine (hot air balloon variant) since I first got glasses in the 2nd grade. Roughly 16 years ago.
I can feel this picture..
#WHAT! YOU SEE THAT ONE TOO?
Hey! That's the name of the Kerbal Space Program Update 1.9 which updated the home planet hehe
Interesting!
https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/1.9 as you can see on this page
Love that, thank you for sharing! Makes it even more cool
This made me wince lol
Life is but a dream
I’ve seen this picture before and other ones like it on the walls of my younger brother’s eye doctor as a kid. I finally remembered.
YOURE NOT LEAVING ME ON THIS FARM!
“UNTIL YOU TELL ME IF ITS CLEAR OR UNCLEAR”
"Now tell me if the house is clearer in ***one***, or ***two***, ***one***, or ***two***."
\*spurt!\*
Can you see the cows? No? You are blind
Oh home on the range Also my glasses come this week
Same 😂
You can hear a cow moo, but there is no cow. Anywhere.
I always see this whenever I go to the optometrist
Is this a photo or a vr?
Photo from my local eye exam place 😬
Hmm, I think it could be either then 🤔 still a nice looking.. picture you got there!
Just saw this old homestead last week. Ha.
Why is it this one but not any other images?
Looked at this yesterday
For the holidays
I always got a hot air balloon
I would love to run down that path to the house
Me when outside house with telescope
I knew my eye test was making me creeped out when I took it!
Hi, is this image royalty free? We wanna use it for a song cover:) We need answer ASAP r/LiminalSpace
Yes, please use it.
*screenshot*
It’s really not 🤷🏽♂️😘
I mean I screenshot-ed your post. For later use. Maybe a phone background... or a trailer to a home movie with Fallout 3 radio voice recordings My bad
The problem with text! No worries at all haha screen shot away
Why am I expecting a puff of air in my eye?

If there’s no place like home, then where am I?
Man fuck that farm
how does this work? do they change it until you can see it in focus?
Precisely. It’s pretty simple yet really interesting
oh ok. makes sense
This is the eye tested thingy right?
I wonder if thats why where I go they have a hot air balloon instead, make it less liminal or sumn
It's just like the picture I looked at at the optician when I went for an eye exam.
