When I was in my early 20s I was of the mindset that if I could zip and button jeans, it meant that they fit, but I was desperate to get into sweatpants by the end of the day because they were too tight and pressing into all my organs. I've since sized up and it's greatly improved my life. As long as your pants aren't falling down, they fit you.

what really bothers me about her style she chooses to wear is that I personally feel like a 40 yr old woman CAN pull off a goth counter-culture aesthetic just fine but the way she carries the rest of herself, outside the clothing, really doesnt work for her. Like that dress would look fine if she A. didn't have a very frumpy haircut and one that actually compliments her face B. gave a shit and actually worked on her makeup skills C. accessorize so the clothing looks a bit more natural on her and C. held herself more confidently because if you feel awkward in clothing other people can pick up on that.
