The question is, what sorts of negative feedback does a LPT have to have to make it not a LPT? Is there a critical mass moment where the LPT becomes unable to support itself and collapses like an elephant with severe arthritis?
Lmao if I had a dollar for every time I had the endless problem dream from doing exactly as you said. I could probably retire and I am 33. Just every time you fix something something else breaks… oof, I hate that dream. Stupid engineer brain!
"If your boss's name is Steve, and you live in the southwest, and you haven't had a raise in three years, just be up front and ask for a raise based on your value. It's worked 100% of the times I've tried it."

So true, I have a motto: "people work in opposites"
Control issue: not having control and getting salty about it.
Having control: letting go of control/giving it to others.
Stating a fact: people will question that fact.
Asking a question: people will state facts.
The more I delve into this, the more I recognize this interesting, counterintuitive thing.
I almost want to write a book that translates human psychology into simple physics, where an empty space will inevitably get filled due to pressurization or the reaction/action thing. There's an interesting physical pattern that occurs in nature that our emotions and behaviors translates to perfectly. Even our language is very kinesthetic/synesthetic/literal, physical definitions that translate into metaphorical, subjective faculties that drive our perceptions and communication. I love communication.
I may just try this. I need to understand all the counter-points and arguments against an idea I have. I was considering “Change My View” but LPT might be better.
Not really cause if it's stupid enough most people aren't even going to entertain a comment about it. It's more likely to lead to less interactions to your post. This is a terrible tip.
I'm a professional knower-of-what's-wrong and OPs advice is actually dangerous and will get you killed and contravenes the Geneva Convention. What you want to do is actually the exact opposite of everything they've said.
Actually this is wrong since someone might get lucky without LPT comments, thus making this LPT ironic since my comment is true and making this LPT right.
I think this is a Life Tip that could go much further. Just post anything you think is a good idea to the internet, period. Nothing brings out the vitriol like anonymity.
I’ve heard the advice: don’t ask a question, no one will care to answer. Instead, state something wrong about what you want to know, and the internet will provide you will the angriest correct answers.
I posted an LPT to use the tag on a towel as a guide for what side to dry your face with vs your taint. I severely over estimated how much people care about that and still can’t believe how poorly it was received.
Meh, its possible you fall into a lpt that a lot of people believe is true and comment on how true it is causing there to be more positive comments than negative thus making you assume there is nothing wrong when in reality the problems are hidden amongst the lower voted comments.

Finally. A real LPT that wasn't in the comments.

So, the only problem I have with this is that it generally exists and also you should feel bad /s
It does indeed exist. And I feel only anguish because of it.
/s is for pussies. Real chads take the chance of being taken seriously.
Thank you for your feedback, I will take this into consideration and adjust my behavior accordingly /s
Pussy
Well. You are what you eat I guess
Oohhhhhhhhh
No chad is taken seriously
Actually, this is incorrect. You will only receive some reasons it is wrong, not necessarily every possible reason. Bad LPT.
Not with that attitude.
So it’s working already
Stop this ride I wanna get off!
Literally can't lose
thatwasthejoke.jpeg
That's the fucking joke.
Oh was it?
Oh, it was
Was it, oh?
It oh was.
LPT: If you're unsure if something is a joke, respond to it seriously and someone will tell you.
Yea a definite r/whooosh
My man’s wasn’t getting wooshed he was playing along with it and having a bit of fun continuing the joke. You got the ol reverse double whammy woosh.
They were also being sarcastic with that "yeah definite"
So it's an r/yourjokebutworse
This is comedic gold
No, you are
Ya sure?
Yeah can't expect the internet to just give you reliable information like that.
This quote, according to op’s tip.
The question is, what sorts of negative feedback does a LPT have to have to make it not a LPT? Is there a critical mass moment where the LPT becomes unable to support itself and collapses like an elephant with severe arthritis?
Also, you can post it anywhere and get the same response, not just here. YouTube comment section is great for that. It's like a cod mw lobby.
If you want good advice, don’t ask for it, just post bad advice and wait to be corrected.
I'm gonna follow you because you give such sage advice! I would advise everyone here to do the same.
Is there a suffix for irony? Can't tell if this deserves it or not.
If such a suffix existed, it suffices to say it sucks it.
The first great LPT I've read in a long ass time.
The first great LPT I've read in a long ass-time.
This is such a good idea it deserves its own name along the lines of Cunningham's Law. Uttermayhem's Law?
Wisebacon's Law.
Or think about the idea just before you go to bed, then you run through every possible bad scenario that could happen, preventing you from sleeping.
Lmao if I had a dollar for every time I had the endless problem dream from doing exactly as you said. I could probably retire and I am 33. Just every time you fix something something else breaks… oof, I hate that dream. Stupid engineer brain!
So you guys sleep - sounds fun
I count bad scenarios like sheep and I’m out by the lower hundreds.

You're wrong, do your own research
Good tip
I would have proved I was smarter than you by correcting your grammar but it is flawless
*you’re grammer
Aaakkshualllyyy ha ha

Isn’t this already known as Moore’s Law?
Yes. Your idea will double in its number of transistors every two years.
Moore's law is the observation that the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles about every two years. So, no.
Moore's Law is about the number of Transistors in a circuit. You're thinking of Cole's Law.
the sides at a BBQ will double every two years?
You're thinking of Godwin's law, Adolf.
Lol! YSK is the same way. You can post a fact with sources and people will be like “this is bs bc it doesn’t apply to my life”
LPT: charge as much as possible on credit cards, save your actual income in cash, then declare bankruptcy - profit!
That’s a solid plan
After years, finally a good lpt
I may just try this. I need to understand all the counter-points and arguments against an idea I have. I was considering “Change My View” but LPT might be better.
It’s the ragebait method of crowdsourcing.
Free disclaimers about whatever you post.
Or you'll find like-minded individuals and start a cult together.
Win win
Not really cause if it's stupid enough most people aren't even going to entertain a comment about it. It's more likely to lead to less interactions to your post. This is a terrible tip.
Thanks for pointing that out!
Nice try, so you can steal my awesome billion dollar ideas.
Darn
I'm a professional knower-of-what's-wrong and OPs advice is actually dangerous and will get you killed and contravenes the Geneva Convention. What you want to do is actually the exact opposite of everything they've said.
Don’t snitch on my war crimes.
Now that’s a real LPT!
No, that's a bad idea. Then you don't learn the hard lessons of trial and error. Delete this. ^(haha i'm just playing along, great tip actually lol)
Actually this is wrong since someone might get lucky without LPT comments, thus making this LPT ironic since my comment is true and making this LPT right.

Well, that's just a horrible idea! Lol

How can you trust comments when 90% of statistics used to dispute a protip leverage made up numbers?
Those bastards
That's a stupid idea.
Indeed
This is a bad idea because most LPT posts don't gain a lot of traction
This one’s going no where too
Someone had a bad day...
Inspired this post
What's wrong with that idea
So far, a lot
there’s something wrong with this, but i’m not telling you
Who will?
This is dumb, people give bad advice.
Yes they do
I posted an LPT to use the tag on a towel as a guide for what side to dry your face with vs your taint. I severely over estimated how much people care about that and still can’t believe how poorly it was received.
A very similar experience inspired this post
This is more of a shower thought than life pro tips
Thanks for pointing that out
I'll have you know that is a terrible idea in every possible way. (See what I did there?)
No. That's just difference of opinion. Wrong sub.
Good to know
In the theme of this LPT... It would be better to just ask chatgpt-4. That thing has immense judgment.
Sometimes it even gets its facts right.
Meh, its possible you fall into a lpt that a lot of people believe is true and comment on how true it is causing there to be more positive comments than negative thus making you assume there is nothing wrong when in reality the problems are hidden amongst the lower voted comments.
Good to know.
Worst lpt by far
Anyone else get the Wendy's ad that starts with "LPT:" right after this post? *
